2 days so far without CDK has been extremely stressful and difficult.
I work at a dealer as well and the dealer does not want to attempt pen and pencil style because of the huge room for mistake specially when it’s been decades since any of them did it
I work for a dealership and we are back to life with pen, paper, and sticky notes. The younger employees are shell shocked. They can’t grasp the concept of pen and paper being carried around wherever they go.
Sure sure. MrToyota6506. "Shell shocked"
Mine seems to be waiting for their computers to come back and telling people it’s a “cyber attack at the registry” and not on their side. We didn’t know about this cheap-o security program and the registry website didn’t have any alerts about this posted so something smelled a bit funny.
Supposed to pick my new car up today but now it’s maybe Monday. Like the one time I go to buy a car and this shit happens lol
Finally, a chance to use the cursive they taught me in second grade.
Oh I bet they are 😂and the hand cramps they complain about because most never used their hands other than to beat the meat😂
@@kirtyboyswag you beat your meat all day but don’t get hand cramps when writing because your hands are already well adjusted to the girth of a pencil.
Trial run......
I feel like the auto industry finally FAAFO at this point so I'm all for it.
Hopefully my 202x Durango 392 will be half the price
Being a tech and working per diem really disrupts the flow with cdk inop who's going to cover the lost time? Warranty will be a nightmare.!!!!
😂 you have NO IDEA WE BEEN IN A PAPERWORK TORNADO DOIN
ALL BY PAPER WORK HAND AND NOO ITS NOT 50.000 TRY OVER 500,000 AND AFFECTING 18,000 DEALERS NATION WIDE AND AT END OF MONTH ITS A MESS
Hearing rumors the person in charge of security for CDK was fired two weeks ago who better knows the system on how to shut it down then the person that controlled it for years and years. Just speaking out loud I guess
It looks like they have a sales engineer as their head of cyber security.. That seems like an odd choice.
@@owenoatley1331 I hadn't heard who they replaced the original head of security that they just fired but that is interesting.
I’m leaning more toward the foreign government theory. This may be the first salvo of World War Three. . . . . . Maybe it’s the second salvo.
@@N2YTA Sounds more like a conspiracy theory of yours that you want to fit into your overall fantasy about WW3.
@@owenoatley1331 I hope it’s a fantasy. I hope I’m wrong. Conspiracy theories sometimes end up being correct, I guess that makes them conspiracy theorems.
This raises concerns for customers too I'm sure! What about digital data in vehicles? Every time I get a service loaner there's previous users info in it. That info doesn't even need to be hacked. IT'S RIGHT THERE!!!
A bunch of sad people that can't use pen and paper.
I wish these hackers would grow up and get a life.
They can’t. They are video game nerd furry hackers
@@nevrlow But what if they were regular people not agreeing with all these crazy car/truck recalls, out of this world mark-ups.
Example:
Unnamed Dealership
8"Display Screen Protector (Applied) - $500 💀
You know this benefits customers... They did for us ya fooz...😂😂 Smdh must be uneducated boomers who click the new majik button on their car and lose their minds in astonishment😅😂😂
@@keronlezama2391 Im not in sales im in service and its making all of hour lives hell and on top of that im not hourly im flat rate so its significantly effecting how fast I can work and make
Yeah well they have aytomove dealerships by the balls so thry are some tough kids
At this point, since service hasn’t been restored I think it’s possible that CDK isn’t coming back. I won’t be surprised to see them file for bankruptcy to protect themselves from the onslaught of lawsuits. . . . Just my opinion, I hope I’m wrong.
No service from my Ford dealer. Had to go to independent shop.
+1 for direct to consumer. Tesla doing just fine.
DONT PAY THEY ANYTHING BETTER OF JUST GETTING REYNOLDS
Ain’t nobody buying a car with these high car prices and interest rates and the government does not have any money to bail them out again. This is nothing but a race to the bottom for ALL car dealers. Karma for being greedy during the pandemic.
The Stone Age of pen and paper?
Ha! how does it feel to be the ones ripped off this time.
Give Reynolds & Reynolds a call
Um noooooooo
don't use an abbreviation like everybody would know what it means. who or what tf is a cdk??
Cobalt Digital Marketing.. Its referred to as a DMS or Dealer Management System. Its the back bone of the dealership. The biggest impact is on the service side. You cant track labor, parts or repairs.
50,000 customers is a very low number. I would be willing to guess that there are millions of customer's information in CDK.
🤣🤣🤣 "They've got beeps. They've got boops." Bloomberg should not have used these reporters for this story.
We r leaving ourselves valnurable because a few people want to make more money by makomg everything dogital. It should be legal to sue these people for damages cause this is impacting everyone
lol, They pay a lot of money to IT companies who are fosil and ofc they use attack friendly stone age technologies because they know better 🤣
As a salesperson at a dealership, this is insane, I was around for the pen and paper days but we cannot even look up a customers phone number, these hackers are sick and need to be caught somehow. If we cannot sell cars as we are commissioned based, we cannot make a paycheck and that goes for most dealerships and service departments. This needs to be looked at closely as this is not only affecting our customers, it is affecting thousands upon thousands of employees that get paid to sell and service cars. Thank g-d I work for a dealer group that will always help an employee but this needs to be looked at and talked about alot more then it has been.
A tiny violin plays for the usurer.
You work for a dealer, you rip people off on the daily. We don’t feel bad for you whatsoever
@@christianzachary956 I worked in the Auto industry for over 13 years until last year. The greed levels have gotten out of control the last few years and they were all about ripping people off and then bragging about it afterwards. If the common person ever heard what some of these higher ups in dealerships were saying they would never step foot in a dealership again. 95% of them are pure crooks and would slide their own mother under a bus for a dollar. I used to love working in the industry because of my passion for automobiles but sadly they are all run by thieves that don't even know the first thing about what they are selling and are not car enthusiasts at all. I had enough and walked away from it all because of these reasons.
I can't make a paycheck either. Laid off , and I'm 61.
so join the club.
Where's Pete Buttigege? He's in charge of Transportation and right now people can't buy vehicles or get them serviced 😡
Beta test
Might be a prevous worker or some indian or some one in usa or europe
Janet actually thought that stealing Russia’s money wouldn’t have any consequences.
Can't submit deals via pen and paper to banks
Fax machine bro, the way we did it 10-15 years ago.
lmao.
i hope u deleted all ur presence online, cuz we are starting it all over again and now, every single thing can be processed.
Wow... Beeps and boops wth... It's called planned obselesance and it takes 3 seconds to research a topic... Anyone can be a anchor I swear...
I hate the very fact that if a computer is down, all activity ceases. So pick up pen and paper and do things the way we did for centuries. C'mon, people, it's not that hard.
If you’ve been in the industry as long as I’ve been, you’d dust off the 10 key, get a few boxes of sharpies and conduct business as you did in the ‘90s. CDK Hack is a major inconvenience but that’s all, just an inconvenience.
i assume you still selling cars , for me as FI manager it is impossible to work
What happens when you assume? No matter your position everybody sells every day.
I sell cars currently and trust me this being down holds deals up for funding in return no ones gets there commission check
@@josephaspiras5112 We always kept the ADP backbone as a precaution so other than webdesking, some parts of accounting, most of fixed ops and e-sign / e-fund most crucial systems work. I’m one of those ancient ones who can structure a CEL with pen and paper. If it takes longer to reboot the systems, I’ll send the MVD paperwork with a courier and will probably have to teach the F&I guys how to do a paper funding package.
Coordinated attack
And this why a blockchain system will fix this...
🤣
Save money live better DealerTrack DMS 😂
