It could be deceiving us, making us assume that Michael Keaton is playing Bruce Wayne
I am surprised how much of the story they have given away ,but there are still some parts not yet revealed🤐 looking forward to the release ,fingers crossed .

My theory is that alt Barry will become the reverse flash after the original Barry destroys the alternate timeline. The heart brake of losing the life he had and ultimately his mother will drive him to want to destroy everything the original Barry loves. It would be an interesting parallel of the two paths Barry could’ve taken by losing his mom.
Love it, as it keeps Barry the villain like in the comic story. By Barry trying to undo his biggest mistake he creates his biggest foe.
Wait it could be but the other Barry becomes savitar not reverse flash. Savitar lightning was blue as well

The best thing that I think could come from this movie (I know wishful thinking). Is that before his untimely death Kevin Conroy could've potentially done a scene in which HE is a Thomas Wayne, that does get to give a letter to a version of Batman, and honestly, Keaton's version would make the most sense for that moment, and would be a wonderful scene.

I like the little detail when Kara is taking out the guards, you could see Keaton Batman was about to punch one of the guards before Kara interrupted him and launching the guard. Really shows how ridiculously fast she was going.
The guard's head should have exploded with that kinda force and speed

My guess is that Michael Keaton is going to be Thomas Wayne. That's why the Flashes are so surprised that "he's Batman." (Because they learned that Bruce died in this timeline and assumed that meant Batman was also gone). Also, the "bruises" on the old hand may actually be paint from the Joker, who (i'm guessing) is Martha Wayne in this timeline - which would also explain why the hand touches Martha in the picture.
I agree with that being paint on his hand & not bruises. To me it resembles the color like when metal costume jewelry gets wet & corrodes, leaving behind a blue-green residue on the skin. And the Flashes could also be surprised by Thomas/Batman bc “no meta humans exist” & this would be a game changer.
If he is it would of been cool if he had that Thomas Wayne red Batman suit that has pistols and actually kills.
I've been thinking Keaton is playing Thomas instead of Bruce as well. It just makes sense.
After re-watching the closeup of Keaton’s hands at 5:02, the paint is on his fingernails too, not just the skin. So those aren’t bruises.🕵️

the lightning coming through main Barry, into the alt-barry, could be an homage to the old lore of the flash being the lightning bolt that caused him to get his own powers
I love how the main barry has gone from blue lightning to classic yellow, while other barry is blue like the last few films

I’m 42 years old and I feel lucky I watched Batman on the movie theater when I was a child. Can you imagine how excited I am to see Keaton as Batman once again?
Keaton was the first Batman I was introduced to at age 5-6. I didn't see it in theaters (I was born in '93), but I share your excitement!!!
I'm 54 and I was in college in 1989 when Batman came out. The hype was over the top. It was a cultural obsession. People were getting Bat-logo haircuts. The movie didn't quite live up to the hype - to be fair, I don't think any movie could - but it was decent. Elfman's score was marvelous; hearing it again now certainly gives me chills. The best part about Keaton suiting up again now, though - in my opinion - is that Tim Burton is NOT directing. 😁

You know what I think? I think alternate Barry and real Barry are going to disagree about resetting the timeline. Notice how real Barry tries to explain why he has to reset the timeline and even shakes alternate Barry to emphasize it. I think alternate Barry is going to like having gotten those powers that he's not going to want real Barry to reset it. And I think that's where they'll turn against each other and begin fighting
Reseting the time line would mean that flashpoint barry and his mum both stop existing so I can understand why he would be against it. If I remember in the comics the only reason Thomas wants to help Barry is so Bruce can live, nobody else really wants to help. Flashpoint Barry may be the reverse flash of this film
The yellow lenses on Barry’s cowl is a very slick callback to CW’s Flash where Cisco put lenses and a user interface in Barry’s cowl before they made him take it out.
I love that Bat-Keaton will be in this a lot more that we originally thought. 🦇

I don't think Barry said "it's the ONE where my mom lives", but instead "it's the WORLD where my mom lives". Which would make a huge difference

I think it's some kind of drone or kite or something. It seems like they're trying to power up the other Barry with the lightning. Maybe they need both of them to get Barry back to the present or to fight Zod or something but I think they're attracting the lightning from the storm that gave Barry his powers. Batman could have some system that can route a large electric shock but I think it makes more sense to use some kind of lightning rod and a kite or something like that

Imo, the blue and yellow shirts in the flashbacks are vital, the blue shirt Barry is our Barry’s experience whilst yellow shirt young Barry is the younger Barry he meets who’s mum didn’t die & the one our Barry meets
I was hoping you would mention the color of both Barrys' lightning. In Justice League, it was blue. But Main Barry's lightning here is yellow, while alt Barry's is blue.

Big same!! It’ll also be cool to see Michael Shannon back as Zod, and Ben Affleck back as his Batman, but nowhere near as exciting as Keaton!
What’s interesting is that original Barry has blue lightning at the start of the movie, but while he’s wearing the suit his lightning is that classic yellow. Maybe they switch lightning colors?
I'm loving the movie so far. The only thing that could make it better for me, would be if they somehow put in Ezra's Flash getting the 'flash name' for Grant Gustin's Flash in 'Crisis on infinite Earths' from the CW

Supergirl lifting Barry into the sky seems like an homage to the Crisis on Infinite Earths cover in which Kal is holding Kara, and Barry was the only other major character to "die" in Crisis too. It also makes me think of The Dark Knight Returns when a weakened Superman is blasted through with lightning as he drifts about the atmosphere.
tbh its been some time now since I've feel this much of energy from a movie trailer. God I miss this! super hyped for this movie!!
See I like the shot of Kara being hidden behind Batman’s hand but that seems just for us as the audience because the characters in that scene would know Kara is up there
Just thinking out loud: What if Michael Keaton is NOT playing the Bruce Wayne from the '89 movie, and is instead, keeping in line with the original Flashpoint story, playing THOMAS Wayne? 🤔
Quite possible, and would make more sense than us seeing a different Bruce who would be much older even for a few years back. Plus the way he touches the photo on the bookshelf he puts his hand over young Bruce as if someone he misses that is now gone.

i had the same thought, even if he arrives at the end through some sort of time line merge or if they jumped into the future at the end somehow, however there in lines the problem that Beyond was set in 2019, but i guess they can just fix that by making it an alternate universe where in 2019 technology had advanced much further
The “try not to die” scene gives me goosebumps every time
I love how vibrant the colors are here. What Snyder did to the colors made everything look really wrong, and he seemed to have set the tone that everyone followed which is why so many of the DC films are so hard on the eyes. This looks like a great step towards bigger and bolder colors. These are superheroes, they should be bright, bold and big.
I think it's actually the Batwing that is getting struck by lighting with the cable attached.
I think it's a drone or a kite. I think it's part of the scene where the Barrys get struck by lightning in the lab. It looks like they're trying to power up the other Barry so I think they're trying to attract the lightning
"Scuba Batsuit" also reminding me of the Alex Ross design for that Justice comic cover & maybe futuristic Batman from Kingdom Come?

Love the breakdown Erik, as always your hard work shows through. While I really enjoyed what I saw in the trailer I was really struck by something you briefly touch on, that this trailer shows/spoils a lot. I'm someone who enjoys and will seek out a spoiler if it's something I'm very invested in it's got to be about something specific, I don't want to know the plot beat for beat. I could be totally off base here but to me this trailer showed way too much, if you've read the Flashpoint comics or even saw the animated feature you can see exactly what's going on in terms of the adaptation, what changes they made from the source material and how they integrated aspects of the previous DC films into the story for this movie. Ironically the single character they chose to not spoil in this trailer they've spoiled in already released merchandise.
In the shorter trailer released you can see a shot of the batcycle chase and the police cars say City of Gotham on them, meaning the batcycle chase happens in Gotham city rather than Metropolis.

I’m guessing the line “just save one” comes in to play from JL if Flash is helping evacuate as many people has he can from ZOD’s destruction.
They’ll avoid that abomination of a film like a plague and every line from it.
The villian getting drop kicked out of the flashnado really gives off Savitar, from the CW Flash, vibes. They did a similar "decision to go back and save mom" Flashpoint in the CW series where Savitar also shows up. The movie could be drawing inspiration from all forms of Flash media.

I think the person alternate Barry is dropkicking in that desert battle is just one of Zod’s men. Looks like he’s wearing similar shaped armor. Could be the dark flash character to.
Thing I love about this, the fact they BRINGING BACK ZOD! I don't care what anyone else says, he was my favorite underrated villain and the DARK DC movies that started with him. I mean ANYONE else remember the moment he SHOWED Superman a world of skulls while he stood there watching supe sinking into those skulls like a nightmare....sequence.... holy shit Zach really dug his nightmares...
A third Batman would also fit the The Eras of Joker. Golden, that doesn't care for Batman, Silver, that's just comedic, and Bronze, that lives for the moments with batsy.
This made me more excited for the movie than I was before I'll say that. Imagine they include Christian Bale and maybe even Robert Pattinson, that would be wild. Would be a recreation of the HISHE video "No I'm Batman"

Adaptations of Flashpoint Paradox will always be better than the original story because they don't have to deal with the fact it makes 0 sense. Throughout the Bronze and Modern age we are repeatedly shown that Barry Allen's The Flash is an expert time traveler who can correct the timeline with precision when other time travelers mess things up.
Flashpoint Paradox is built on the idea that he's suddenly forgotten how to travel through time well.
I noticed alternate Barry has the flash ring on in the scene where his hand is shaking and when he is in the bat cave. But I’m wondering how original Barry goes to a different lightning / speed force color? Did he use his powers more before time traveling causing him to be faster which in turn caused his lightning to change? 🧐

I'm thinking he's Thomas Wayne, too. It looks like he's touching Martha and young Bruce in that picture to open the Batcave. Plus he looks too old to be a variant of Bruce running a similar timeline as main Barry.

The Keaton Batman makes perfect sense too as he is a more violet Batman like the one from Flashpoint. So perfect.
Hot take: I think Michael Keaton's batman in this film in particular is actually Thomas Wayne. I mean Barry changed a lot of things when he went back in time. What if he changed that too. It could also explain batman's age, grey hair and all. I could be wrong.

That "desert" bat-suit is probably a Burton-verse version of the Gotham by Gaslight suit. What the circumstance that lead to the creation of that suit, I don't know but I'm glad it looks great in the Burton Aesthetic.
Flashpoint really is one of my favorite series like the whole thing. I’ve got so many of the comics. I’m pretty excited for this movie

We don’t actually know for sure they this universe is Michael Keaton Batman’s universe. It’s possible Barry pulls him from another universe to help.
You’re right. I have a sneaking suspicion that most of this is misdirection. Maybe they’re playing on the fact that we all know how the story is supposed to go and they’re going to give us something completely different.
Given the lightning colors of the two Barrys, I’m not even sure if we have pegged the right Barry as our main DCEU Barry in this movie

Trailers that give a lot of story away usually P me off but this was is so fascinating. So much momentum behind movements and emotions.
Ezra aside, I’m gonna see this opening weekend to support Andy Mushietti, Keaton, Affleck, and the hundreds of others who worked hard on this movie.
