- With over 11 million followers worldwide, Dianxi Xiaoge is known for her cooking videos showcasing the traditional food of Yunnan Province. We went to live with her for a week, and over the past month, we’ve rolled out six videos where we learned how to make her most iconic dishes.

I am American and know limited mandrin words. Simply by watching Dani and Lizi I've learned that an X in mandarin is actaully pernounced as C. So fun to learn new things.

She is a very warm and generous person. It is not surprising, what with her family - with family members helping each other, caring for each other and loving each other. I'd say that her warmth emanated from her family.

Her family is precious to watch...they get the giggles and that makes me laugh. I love clowning around but in front of a camera, I tend to either wither or act totally ridiculous...you are so lucky you dont have to film someone like me...Danxi is gorgeous and very photogenic. Enjoyed the full series from here in London,would love to see more.I love the pronunciation of Dianxi Xiaoge's name which we were getting so wrong here.
Her recipes are fascinating and the cooking on the stoves takes me back to my childhood in Northern Ireland although our food was so much more basic.The spices and garlic and ginger seem to be central themes with preserves galore which I will never master.
I have visited a number of Chinese restaurants her trying to persuade them to make the food but to no avail sadly,so its home try outs for now.
Looking forward to a new season of food,garden and the hound.

Visited Tengchong Yunnan last summer and it felt like a magical place. Very friendly people. I most liked their housing arrangement and food.
