    WOW that "golden fleece" sign with 550 miles on it is old very old and extremely rare he in Australia !
    Australia changed to kilometers in 1947 WW2 SO that sign is older than that . I cant believe someone gave that away congratulations

    This fellas, is the difference between real body work and cover up work! Most people would not have removed that panel and not deal with the rust behind it. They would have just Bondoed it and said good enough. I will bet half the cars on Barret Jackson and all of the famous tv shows are rusted behind the fender just like this and nobody knows until it rusts back out in a couple of years. Thank you, Mr. 50, for showing the right way to do this!

      We have seen a lot of those auction cars, and flipper cars that people throw together to make a quick buck. Some of it is really bad! Haha

    Hey slick! Love the videos man! Keep it up been learning a lot from you. Hey quick tip on that English wheel. Get you a couple shop rags soaked in the oil you like and wrap them around your wheel strap it with a bungee cord or something should keep the rust off the surface.

    Jonathan W cut out those slopes on his 35. Double curves of the metal obviously are hard to shape.
    He built like 6 inch pieces at a time from the bottom of body to the passenger compartment.

    Congratulations on the 25k! I can tell your a perfectionist when it comes to your metal and body work, you get done and it looks better then what old Henry did new👍! I'm the same way with detailing and putting vinyl decals on cars I'll spend half a day to sand and paint one part lol. Maybe try a dehumidifier in the shop if ya don't have one already they help alot in my garage.

    Possibly you could try a leather mitt fitted over the die on aluminium? Like rawhide so it doesn't hammer through the mitt. IIRC it can be wetted and shaped , held in shape until dried & it holds its shape, Like shoes do. Those marks are galling between steel and the softer aluminium as it moves after being smacked yeah!? The sheetmetal tradesmen of times now gone, had a leather faced hammer and a leather maul in the tool box.

    I put the wide painters tape around my English wheel until I use it again and it keeps the rust off of it. I depends on the moisture in the area you keep it in as well.

    FYI look into industrial strength Velcro you nearly need plyers to pull it apart. same goes for duct tape and i guess a lot of other products, the stuff we get in the local hardware stores etc is domestic rubbish. think industrial when you need strength. 💪🤘

    Try paste floor wax on your wheel after polishing it.

    Just a suggestion on your dies... try waxing instead of oiling them (my old man always used tree wax, a hard carnuba wax to keep machines in the shop from rusting) We would steel wool and wax them once a year.

    Try some furniture wax on your dies when you are finished using them a little brake cleaner before using

    They make small sawzall blades that look like jigsaw blades. Good for cutting circles. I use themnall the time for cutting electric locks it metal door frames. Only issue is they bend easy.

    Try BOESHIELD T-9 Rust & Corrosion Protection for your metal, it's the only thing I have ever used on my tablesaw top that works.

    Hey slick there is a spray you can get Boesheild T9 it prevents rust and doesn’t leave a film. It is used in woodworking for table saw tops among many others.

    You need a bead blasting cabinet. That would clean those rusty pieces up quick, fast, and in a hurry.

    A light coat of mineral oil might help keep your tools and dies from rusting

    You have to use lube with the planishing hammer. Aluminum galls so easily it need lots of lube to keep from getting deep scratches.
