Here in the uk we used to put the porche engine in the vw beetle you could tell as the top of the hood would kick out amazing fun or same engine in a baja bug 😂 great videos guys 🇬🇧
I had a 2008 Silverado just like yours Slick, same color, same rims. The only thing different, it was a crew cab and it was a Texas Edition. I got T-boned at 60MPH by a kid running a stop sign. That was my favorite truck I ever owned and miss it dearly. It had the rare 3.73 rear ratio G80 LSD. I still have the truck as I got the salvage on it. It's heart is going into an 2001 Sonoma king cab. I like you content and you are an extremely talented sheet metal guy, unlike Puddin'. 😂 Edit: That Firebird is awesome.

No body does it better I'm glad you started this channel to share your talents. No way that's your mom😅 she looks to young. It's great to work or play with family and friends
Hey Slick, love that Firebird. Just thought I might mention if no one else has told you. Those 400's are suppose to run pure anti-freeze, no water. I had that same motor in a Grand Prix.Great car show,ty
The wheels on the front of the yellow coupe at the end are Cragar Super Slots . Running that fan and shroud combo on the Firebird is part of the issue at highway speed. The the only way the incoming air can escape is through the fan, and the fan actually becomes a restriction. It also needs the close out panels between the radiator and core support like the AC cars had. Easy way to increase airflow would be to punch some louvers or holes in that shroud. I’ve built several first gen firebirds and Camaros and chased many overheating problems.
I would fix the overheating issues before one or both head gaskets fail. Remove the thermostat and run warm water through the block, disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. There might be a blockage, If the heater core is still installed run the garden hose water through the heater core and out thru the block. I would go back to a 4 or 5 blade Pontiac fan and the appropriate fan shroud. Most electric fans block too much of the air flow through the radiator. Remove the thermostat and test it to make sure it actually opens and closes. Check for actual flow or water movement through the aluminum radiator. If there is no flow in the radiator it means the thermostat failed to open or the water pump is not pumping coolant. I really hope you figure it out, That's a really nice 1st generation Firebird Slick!!!!
Upgrade to a high flow water pump. That was what cured the over heating issues that I had with my 1967 Firebird 400. After upgrading to a larger 4 core radiator with a good fan shroud and new clutch fan, eventually I installed the high flow water pump and my over heating issues finally went away. You also may want to install a Ford remote solenoid for your starter. First generation Pontiac Firebirds are notorious for cooking solenoids and leaving you stuck where ever you park until the solenoid cools off. Good luck and thanks for the great content!
Dang Slick Fiddy ! Your mom is a cutie! I h ope when you get the Firebird finished you give her that thing. She seems to love it. I feel like she would enjoy it and take care of it.

Dodge air lock problems. lol get the front end way up in the air . Let it run and and work the air bubble up to the rad . might help wit the over heating . Best wishes from Chatham Ontario Canada.
Nice car show. Had a 65 Chevy long bed painted with a brush. That people would complement me on while it was parked between 2 brand new trucks. Butternut yellow. 20yr guaranteed House paint, gloss. Old Cars were just built better.
Just started eating your stuff after one of my subscribers told me to have a look. Love a channel where the guys are having fun. On your heating issue. the 67-68 firebirds were notorious for cooling issues with the 400's. they have a set of plates that block off the area on top between the bumper and the core support and another sheetmetal piece that went between the lower valance and the front of the core support. there were also a couple of rubber flaps that seal off the right and left sides of the fender / core support areas. these parts made sure most of the air went through the radiator core and were parts that came with the 400s and the AC cars. Before I went to a 4 core I would try to block those areas and give it a go. The aluminum radiator you have in there looks pretty good., The shape of the nose on these years makes air flow a challenge especially with the 400. The water pump plate that is talked about below is also a thing on all the Pontiacs. don't sleep on that as well. Good luck guys. I enjoy the channel!
Hey Slick and Charlie, love the Oklahoma car show footage, I’m not far from yall in Wynnewood, you guys need anything over this way give us a hollar 👍🏻
Some fine looking vehicles there. Thanks for the look around Mr 😎 P.s Set that rad fan at 160°. Sleeperdude says for every degree over 160° you lose 1hp. Maybe stick some holes at the top of the firewall to vent some heat out from under the bonnet into them louvres at the bottom of the windscreen. Just thinking out loud 😎
You need a five or seven blade GM steel fan with a shroud and 160 degree thermostat to cure your overheating issues. Also, tell Charlie that Pontiac doesn't make a small block.😅
