I’m going to truck driving school to get my cdl in a couple of months. I’ve been a currier since 2015. I usually do apx 7000 miles a month. I’m usually picking up things like Covid samples, urine samples, blood, birth screens ect. My question is would a company look at this as driving experience even though it wasn’t cdl driving? My other question is work history. It seems that a lot of truck drivers seem to jump from company to company. I’m 42 years old and have only worked 2 jobs. I was a waiter at the same restaurant for a little over 17 years from 1997 to 2015 and I’m currently a self employed currier/contractor since 2015. I guess my question is how much will that make me stand out if at all to a trucking company I will be trying to get hired onto. Thanks!
