    My mentor at swift doesn’t think I’m good enough at shifting.... it’s discouraging because i know that the more i do it the better I’ll be.

    I just have to get use too is RPM and road speed to shift the gears down not use the clutch .Can you go from 10 to 1 if you put it neutral and it the low lever or do you have to follow all the steps

      Down shift requires for you to go down step by step like the vid shows... Just gotta know your rpms and move fast with it

    Nice vid. But I find shifting from 4 to 6 is smoother, Wondering if it’s okay? So can you skip gears and does it harm the transmission?

  • @hotkidd20

    When down shifting from 6th gear to 5th. Do I flip the t-bar down while in 6th gear or in neutral?

    • @prdragon47
      @prdragon47 3 года назад +1

      I think it's neutral.

    • @rogerdesousa1451
      @rogerdesousa1451 3 года назад

      Good question and wasn’t properly explained in the vid. I’d assume neutral since if you’d flip before it’d take you from 6th to 1st and that wouldn’t be good.

    Downshift at what mph/rpm?

    • @CDLDrivingAcademy
      @CDLDrivingAcademy  6 лет назад +4

      Downshifting is done using the rpm . You're going to shift into neutral at 1200 rpm and give it gas to 1600 rpm to shift into your lower gear

    Youve never driven a manual transmission before..getting nervous and forgetting what gear your in is something we dont tolerate...guess I wont be working for YOUR company. I want someone to teach me who has atleast a little patience and understanding..because those training machines are nothing like actually driving

    Get out of the simulator and get into an actual truck, you are teaching good theory, but a simulation and the real thing are way different

    • @CDLDrivingAcademy
      @CDLDrivingAcademy  5 лет назад +4

      Hello friend, the simulator is useful for getting students acquainted with shifting prior to getting in a real truck. This avoids grinding the gears.
