    Every time you listen to Cuddly Toy by Roachford you can hear Alan saying “Your fog lamps are on!” in the background.

      It had to be and was always going to be. When you consider that Alan started on radio, then was part of the TV version of the radio show, then had his own chat show, _then_ came the two series/seasons of sitcoms, then there was the online show and the first book...then came Alpha Papa. This is a character that has survived three decades across multiple formats. The movie was always going to be stand alone.

    For me, the book "We need to talk about Alan" (his 'autobiography') helped somewhat with the transition to the Goredale Media 'era' of the Partridge backstory. - I'd highly recommend checking out the audiobook of it, read by Coogan, as it's effectively hours and hours deeper into the Alan-verse!

    If you've not seen The Death of Stalin, I highly recommend it. Serious subject with very funny parts and a great cast all round

    Michael has been confirmed missing since he jumped off the pier in the Alan Partridge book Nomad. So he's most likely dead.

    Last night I found out there'd been a 4th series of The League of Gentlemen, in 2017. I'd forgotten how damn good (and creepy) it was. That series, and also 'Inside no.9' by the same people would be well worth checking out. ;)

    I'm old enough to remember alan from a bbc radio show called on the hour in early 1990s and switching to various TV shows. There's a new show with him on bbc 1 starting soon it should be brilliant.
    Alan partridge best tv presenter since Frank bough.

      If there were no fair use laws, there would be no incentive for people to make movies and TV shows, but yeah

      @@TheOrlandoTrustfull true, however for critique and review I believe a few more liberties should be allowed with regards to how long you can view ect. I understand you could potentially stream a full movie then as you say, no incentive to create for many. The worlds been swamped by piracy for content for years. Maybe time to accept a few truths, everyone wants to see the show.

    I’m a massive Alan Partridge fan glad you enjoyed the film, agreed would’ve liked more Micheal but before & after this film they did two Alan Partridge mid morning matters series which introduces Sidekick Simon which is kind of Alan’s new best friend/protégé
    If you’ve not seen Mid morning matters I highly recommend it it’s some of the best Alan partridge content 👍

    Partly filmed in my hometown of Mitcham, Surrey.
    You can see the cricket pitch in the background. The world's oldest apparently.
    Another bit of useless Information: they filmed the Bill there too.

      Mitcham has been in London since 1965.

      @@101steel4 Postal counties - which didn't all correspond to actual county boundaries - were abolished in 1996. I don't know what the Surrey leagues are - I guess it's something to do with sport. Voting for London Mayor & being served by the Met Police, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade etc. make it clear that it's in London. Also, every map made since 1965 will show it as being in London.

    Not a bad movie I just think he forgot how to play Alan slightly. I feel Alan’s a different character in IAP, might argue that the characters calmed down years down the line

    Michaels definitely inspired by Paul Gascoigne(former footballer) A fantastic player actually but drink drugs and his demons were his down fall. Anyway yeah search up Gazza on talkshows/interviewed the stories are just like the stuff Michael comes out with.
