The fact Harry used to be a Doctor is always amusing to me. Imagine getting checked up by him then years later you see him on TV one Saturday night taking the mick out of your favourite program.
This was my absolute favourite show growing up. I'm surprised at how much still sticks in the back of my mind - anytime someone mentions cataracts I act surprised, and every time I see a close up on actors' faces I watch their eyes for the tiny game of tennis.
Genuinely think this is one of *the* defining shows in British television history. Just so brutally funny, virtually everyone in the family would laugh their heads off over TV Burp each week.
Me too never watched it as a whole show just used to flick through and only found the odd thing funny but now I seen the whole thing and get what it's all about it's Amazing
I roomed with one of my best mates (who is sadly no longer with us as he was bi polar and committed suicide)... On a lads trip to Newcastle and we had an hour where neither of us could breathe as we were laughing so hard on this..... Harry Hill was delightfully abstract... In the wrong mood it would be 'meh' but in the right move it could provide a lifelong memory. I thank you for that Harry and I would love to see TV Burp coming back on TV in place of pretty much any show on early Saturday night TV. Before Ant and Dec of course cos they've been winning awards since 1965 🤩 (RIP Iain Davies) gone but not forgotten.... Absolute Legend
I didn’t appreciate this enough when it was on. I used to watch different shows and try and guess which parts they’d use each week, you could always tell when they were trying to get featured 🤣
I remember Saturday nights watching this as a kid, with a chinese takeaway and the whole family gathered around the telly to watch an episode of this. Good times, like watching the Weakest Link to get to this week's episode of the Simpsons, lovely.
I seen him in Glasgow and he told 100% new jokes I'd never heard before or seen since. It's like a surreal Tarantino film the way he ties random insanity into one cohesive unit all in the last 10mins. Genius with outstanding memory
I haven’t seen this for years, it’s still as funny. I roared out loud with laughter from the very start What animal would want to live here ? 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓 A fox? 🦊 Class
I remember thinking at the time, when I watched this live on a Saturday night, that this is the apex of traditional television entertainment. I was not wrong.
I went to see a live taping of this. It was pretty good - they give you beers beforehand they have a warm up comedian and then in came harry. It was a good set up!!
this brought back so many memories. i was only a child when i used to watch this with my brother and never understood the majority of the jokes, but the bongos, knitted duck, the tv highlight of the week, the ‘FIGHTTTT’ could never leave my mind. tv gold.
What made this show so good was you quickly realised just how rubbish a lot of TV is nowadays, especially soaps, dramas and those so-called "reality" programmes.
Saw this being filmed at Teddington Studios back in the day. It was a day when TV had stuff on that you actually wanted to watch and which included stuff that was funny. A time long since gone.
Writing for this show must be one of the most enviable jobs ever. OK watch TV and just record anything that made you laugh. With British soaps they make it so easy for you
way better then gogglebox. Harry Hill gave it up. it was taking all his time up 7 days a week. he must of gone through every program to find these clips. so funny
I miss this programme. Thanks for uploading this compilation of absolute bloody corkers. I always looked forward to hearing whatever the "highlight of the weeeeek" jingle was each episode. Ps. Cataracts?! PPs. I also always loved it when the people from scenes he took the piss out of appeared on the show. Great sports. 💫

( 'Important' people asking for your teenage culinary opinions, while throwing wads of money at you...) how could *anyone* hold onto a sane sense of self under those conditions? I can't help but wonder the requests into the costume department were like. "Yeah, we're going to need to request a Shark suit". "Oh sure, we have plenty, anything else?" "Yeah, do you have a toaster suit as well?"
it's only now looking back that i realise how foundational this was to my sense humour. the "ear cataracts?" gag has been buried deep in a quiet corner of my brain since this aired.
