@@DoctorMike, is drinking normal tea good too??? Cause, i love green tea, but cant buy it. Thanks!!!
I started drinking green tea in high school. Hated it initially, but they didn't allow soda so it was the tea or nothing. Over time it grew on me, and did become my drink of choice even after moving on to college. No dental issues, and if anything I struggle to put on weight, rather than struggling to take it off. As for the other chronic illnesses - cancer, heart disease, etc., no signs yet but we'll see how the next 40 years plays out.
I've always taken mine with either a spoonful of honey (in the winter), or no additives at all (in the summer). I will try adding lemon after this video, though.
Forget the lemon..lemon will destroy youre teeth.
for Long Term Green Tea Effects, watch this, from "Wu Mountain Tea" -- "THIS is Your Brain on GREEN TEA: New (2024) Science on the UNREAL Brain Health Benefits of Green Tea"
Lemon isn’t necessary. Just do the honey and only add lemon if you feel like it. I add lemon or lime to mine if I feel like the taste of it. Otherwise, I’m drinking tea without anything in it. I’ve been adding honey as of late and it’s alright but I prefer the natural taste of the green tea by itself.
after covid, I stop drinking coffee and drink 2 cups of green tea every day. really helps my anxiety and i feel better too
How do you drink it? Plain or with honey?
@@beautifullyyou3044 plain 😊

I’m Japanese. When I went to Thailand, I had sweetened green tea for the first time and was astonished by its sweetness. It was there that I discovered the international practice of adding sugar, honey, or lemon to green tea. In Japan, it's common to enjoy green tea without any additions, savoring the aroma and bitterness of the leaves. While green tea has known health benefits, excessive sugar or honey can negate its purpose.

You are right.. But I am discouraged by elder uncle to drink Green Tea
Get loose leaf tea from a local shop if you can! Most tea comes from the same few places: China, India, Sri Lanka, Japan. My favorite green tea comes from Nepal, but apparently a war is going on there right now, so i hope the growers are supported through it.
Please give us some recommendations!
I drink green tea every day mainly for the energy and it's so cool to know how many other benefits it has! Definitely going to keep up the habit of drinking it.
Parents: Soda gets rid of rust on cars and things! What do you think it’s doing to your body?!
Me: Getting rid of the rust.
Nice one! Actually, the reason why soda is not good for you in excess (because I won’t be convinced to give up soda) is because of the high amounts of fructose you’re consuming. Fructose has been proven to be about as healthy as alcohol. While you’re safe to drive after a cup of soda, both soda and alcohol will harm your liver in eerily similar ways.
Brian Koehler yeah. I drink green tea a lot now instead of soda :D

I have been drinking 3 large cups of herbal tea a day for several years, and I only take about one sick day from work a year. And I'm in great shape as well, considering I'm in my 50's, mostly thanks to working out every day, eating healthy and drinking plenty of herbal tea.

That "Honest Tea" joke is the one that got me the most. Too funny.
In deed. I almost die after that joke XDDDDD.
Yes finally! People are starting to appreciate tea more for its numerous health benefits! I got into tea at the start of the year and have not looked back since. I have done some of my own research on these benefits and the more I dig around the more amazed I am at how good this beverage is for overall health. Like mentioned in the video about how tea drinkers are at lower risk of diabetes, studies have also shown that tea contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which can do wonders for the body. I even read tea has no negative side effects whatsoever so I can be guilt free when I enjoy my delicious English breakfast tea every morning!
I love English breakfast tea in the morning, but have you tried any other types of tea? Black tea is by far the most common, but I would highly recommend experimenting and trying out different ones to make the most of their own unique benefits! Online I have read that black tea is a good source of caffeine and it has properties that support a healthy immune system which is great but let me introduce you to white tea. White tea has a delicate flavor but it contains no caffeine so this could be something you drink before going to bed. Research has shown it is the most effective tea in fighting various cancers because it has the highest level of antioxidants out
Vucic 2
of all teas, and it can help your teeth with its high levels of fluoride. And that’s just one out of many others! I would also recommend trying green tea, herbal tea, and oolong tea. Let me know how it goes. 😊
I’ll have to give those a try, thanks for the recommendations! But to be honest I love tea the most because of the nature of its caffeine. It is a gentle boost of energy that leaves me feeling more awake for extended periods of time and I never feel like I am crashing when the caffeine effects wear off. According to articles I’ve read online, this is because the caffeine is slow releasing so the effects last longer at a rate where you feel awake rather than overly energized and this effect slowly decreases. So, I drink a tea that helps me stay awake but is there anything that can help me fall asleep?
Let me introduce you to chamomile tea. It is caffeine free and can come in many different flavors. It has a delicious herbal taste, and one cup of this stuff will have you ready for bed in no time. To really make the most of its effects I would recommend having a nightly routine where you drink a cup of chamomile at the same time every night before going to bed, so your body associates the taste with going to sleep. What I do is after my routine nightly shower I prepare a cup of chamomile tea and I head straight to bed once I finish it. This leaves me in a very relaxed state where I don’t even have to think about falling asleep, it just happens. If you want to achieve effortless sleep and maintain a healthy sleep schedule every night then I highly recommend chamomile tea.
We need more people on this planet like you guys. Most people don’t realize how good of a drink tea is to have every morning or even at nighttime before bed. I hope you guys have a great day of feeling wide awake and sleep like rocks tonight after a cup of chamomile.

Thank you, Dr. Mike! My father long ago would take me into the tea stores of Chinatown in NYC and we would buy Green-tea. He was so insistent on the benefits( such as you mentioned) that I would please him by drinking it. He was a big believer in Green tea before it was fashionable. Thank you for your points on its benefits.
That is honestly an adorable and wholesome mental image. 😀
Interesting fact:
The practice of drinking green tea originated in China. Legend has it that it was discovered by Shannong, the Emperor of China, in 2737 B.C when a few tea tree leaves fell into his cup of boiled water. Later, Chinese monks started drinking green tea for refreshment and to help them meditate. They would often travel to India and other places to spread Buddhism, and they took this miracle drink with them. Thereafter, green tea gained popularity :)

@@mcozy333 True climate and agricultural wise Asia has other great plants and herbs that are utilized in cooking that can help contribute to an overall better diet and lifestyle. That's why you typically see people who live in those regions with really long hair or great youthful skin. It really just has to do with your geographic region and sometimes culture. However, you can find a lot of the same great teas and foods sold within the country in a local market or shop. It's just that most people aren't familiar with what the herbs/teas are.
