Despite the numbers, I feel much more confident with the passing because of this game, mostly because it showed Milroe taking the underneath passes, the short completions and not holding the ball for too long. It showed him dealing with the blitz and staying ahead of the chains. I thought that was a great sign, and he had big runs instead of big passing bombs (in the rain. RW might have held onto that one bomb had the field and ball not been so wet)

A TE who can catch is so useful in the NFL that the last 2 dynasties both made their TEs a massive part of their offense, and Shannon Sharpe won 3 back in the day. It will never be outdated. Not only is it useful for blocking on run plays but linebackers have the worst coverage and if you put a safety on the y it frees the x/z. Chiefs have played in 4 of last 5(probably 5/6 later) SBs and won 3. Gronk/Brady played in 5 together and won 4(no one had more TDs than Gronk from Brady). Meanwhile Kittle/49ers have played in the NFC championship 4 of the last 5 years winning last year mostly using 11/12/13 pounding it with CMC so much that they had an All-pro FB.

Georgie Pickens was injured for Georgia that entire year, and when he came back for the national championship, you could clearly tell he hasn’t been the same guy. Yes, Jameson Williams was injured for Alabama. Pickens has proven to be the more consistent WR in the pros. Give me a healthy GP for Georgia and a healthy JW for Alabama, I like Georgia’s chances in that national championship

@@stevencovarrubias8877losing a guys at the beginning of the season is different than in the middle of the playoffs. Kind of a silly comparison. Bottom line is the two WRs we saw gain close to 300 yards and 3 tds in the seccg were injured for the NC. Injuries happen in cfb and uga certainly doesn’t get the violin. it’s safe to say uga was fortunate that year when it came to playing the team that whipped their ass weeks before.

When talking about big brand name teams like Georgia who beat Kentucky 13-12 or Ohio state beating Nebraska 21-17 nobody bats an eye, but if BYU beats Utah 22-21 or Indiana beats Michigan by 5 they’re discredited for barely beating a not very good team.
