Early prediction. You throw farther than me so I'm not making fun of you. I dont believe you have the arm speed for a 12 (could be wrong.) I bet they all have the same overstable flight. Ill be watching the entire video, liking, and commenting to keep the algorithm up regardless of results
I got my 2 time lapse today, i really liked the purple one, got s little turn out of it, gonna be intressting to see how that one beats in!🤩 my Green/Yellow was a meat hook 😂
I think he has enough speed, but his nose angle seems a tad high. He clearly got the 13 speed Tenacity up to speed. The disc just had to turn to negate the nose angle before it started to make progress. Nose angle is usually a big reason why people throw slower discs further. I used to throw Octane and Photon the same distance too before I corrected my grip.
I would suggest a fission octane if you're looking for a bomber but reliable mvp distance driver. The fission plastic can also get some good dome if you look around for a good one. Mine flipped right away for my arm (avg 350 max) and still reliably faded at the end every throw.
Agreed. Done my longest golf shots with the Fission Octane. Easy hyzerflip distance out of the box. They've put out some 150 class ones now, too! If you want something very easy-throwing instead, I highly recomment the Trace. F Octane kind of just keeps going when it hits its angle, which is awesome for distance, but Trace has a more predictable S flight and it gives me 80% of my max distance with minimal effort and is super accurate.
I threw an orange SE stamp and a purple stock stamp during a round yesterday. The Orange one seems to be just a touch more over stable than the purple, but if I was to give a percentage I'd say maybe like 2% more over stable. These are perfect for me to work into the bag I think. They're starting off at the perfect fresh disc stability. Both of them have a baby stand up that seems to hold for 80% of the flight and then they start to fade. It was a smaller course (Heritage Park in Ross, OH) so the longest I needed to chuck one was about 360' which ended up just past the basket left edge of circle (RHBH). I think these are going to beat into my go to control bomber discs where the Octane used be for me. I think I'll still throw further with my Tantrum and Excite, but with how "stable" the turning characteristics of this disc are, I think they'll be easier to dial in a specific landing spot (If I can get these massive skips under control).
I picked up two stock stamp white plate Time-Lapses and they have a little bit of turn for me. They seem pretty true to the flight numbers. Need to get out and throw them some more to see if they'll replace some of my 13 speeds.
@@FlippyJamesDG I'm not sure honestly. I haven't really tried measuring, but I believe I can throw over 400'. Next time I'm out doing some field work I'll use my rangefinder.
I have a blue SR stamped 174g. And a blank purple 171g. With my NOOBle arm, the blue just dumps for me. Where the purple does get a slight S turn. Both thrown flat. If they make these in the 162-168g range. I’d consider bagging one.
Maybe to find discs. But I think it's how the mold changes with colors that take longer to dry? Some companies the plastic changes a bit with the color in terms of the feel.
I got mine today it’s burgundy with a blue and yellow mixed rim. Haven’t seen another one like it on RUclips yet but I’ve thrown it maybe 5 or 6 times and I’m pretty happy with it. It stood up for me and flew great. Threw it into a headwind and it just kept turning right.
@@FlippyJamesDG I mean it’s kind of pretty. When I first got it I thought it was ugly but it’s growing on me. The headwind was consistent but only maybe 5-10 mph. I don’t have a huge arm at all like 350 to 400 is my max distance. I’m able to say that the disc is definitely not super overstable. It seems just right for me.
Love how late the turn was on the defy, its hard to find a disc that will hold so strong for half its flight before starting the turn and you got to throw at the perfect speed like you did, maybe just a click faster than the speed rating on slight hyzer Great video brother
Great video! Thanks for making suggestions of other discs. I live at high elevation and found the insanity (9 speed) works best for me for a distance driver.
None of my stores got an purple stock stamps but I did get a purple blank and purple SE stamp. The SE stamped Time Lapses all had the same dome as the proto but all the stocks and blanks had a massive dome. Also just a heads up but all of MVP/Axiom’s 11 speeds are actually 12 speeds they just called them 11 speeds. Exact same rim width has 12 speeds while the Time-Lapse has a rim width of 13 speeds.
@@FlippyJamesDG No idea! I would have thought the SE/Stock/Blanks all came from the same run. Gonna have to wait to throw them because it’s in the 20s with a freezing wind chill by me.
@@FlippyJamesDG Ahh that I don’t know for sure. They have never publicly stated a reason. But as a sales rep/marketer my guess would be that before they got James Conrad they were a much smaller disc golf brand. For disc golf companies the 12/5/-1/3 slot is a make it or break it slot. Having a bad destroyer like distance driver could ruin an upcoming disc golf brands name. I think it’s smart to market your brand just based off of your quality in the beginning, then move up productions levels (which is exactly what happened when JC won worlds) and then invest in a huge name that can sell your first 12 speed like hot cakes. James Conrad and Simon Lizotte were absolutely perfect signings for the company both in brand recognition and production levels.

Not hating on you at all, just curious, are you throwing any of your discs (not the time lapses) beyond the football field length? I didn't see these discs going full or beyond the field. Therefore, not giving the disc a 12 speed "full flight". It does appear though, that the purple is slightly less stable. It's very hard to compare how a disc is going to fly for someone when multiple factors come into play; biggest being form and arm speed. Thanks for the video!
Don’t feel any hate a valid point. Where I’m throwing from, the goal post is 360. The panic was near it, with the skip. Tenacity went passed 400 with a skip. Defy was near the panic. This was the end of a full day of throwing too. One of those factors haha Main goal was to see a difference in stability, not so much distance, which I think it showed.
Na bro..from goal post to 10 yard line is 300. You're hitting like 280 to 300 tops. You can always throw and then walk the camera to your disc if I'm wrong but I can clearly see them hitting the field before the end zone. Even if you get it to 400...they should be hitting at least 500 for full flight.
Purple SE is flippy, like a Proton Mayhem but with more stability. I got it to 445' on a high flat shot. It turned over and rode, then fought back at the end. Red SE is a meat hook. It flies like it wants to turn but doesn't have any stand up. On a low laser beam, I got 400' after some good ground play. The combination of speed and glide surprised me with how far my shots would go.
Great vid. Nice tosses. I have an Orange Time Lapse and it's very overstable for me, so far. Avg 360-400, depending on wind, RH-BH, and I have not tried a forehand w/ it yet. I prefer my MVP Fireball or Pyro for that.
I think would like a 175G Proton Wave. I throw 4 waves and it’s pretty damn reliable on having a decent fade towards the end. This is coming from someone within 15ft plus or minus on normal drives. I got 3 and they were all beef, purple is slightly less stable. I got a L2 in the gyro box that I've been tossing on the concrete in the garage while I putt practice to see if it beats in to perfection
Liked the vid. Love gyro putters. Im not a fan of mvp drivers..but I suggest the mayhem for max distance. 13/5/-1/2. The wave is a really good 11 speed too. Of course, most gyro is more stable than the numbers suggest. I also like how they change the flight numbers depending on the plastic.

I think Simon was aiming for a Destroyer but for the average player, otherwise known as a star wraith. He missed that mark with this disc. I’m not sure what’s the point of buying a disc if it won’t fly as advertised. All manufacturers should test throw each specific production run and then put flight numbers for that run on disc. As an evolution in Disc golf, I could buy the same disc 10 times because I love the plastic, shape, rim size, essentially the feel in the hand but have all of them actually fly differently and fulfilling different roles. This might lead to a more consistent release and accuracy bump. However, what’s guaranteed, I’ll know what I’m purchasing matches my desire and won’t be paying for false advertising, which is what flight numbers currently represent.
I do know MVP/Axiom have different numbers on some of their discs in different plastic. I think “what he wanted” and what they put out with flight numbers isn’t as fair to compare. First...a football field from goalpost to goalpost is 350ft. You're throwing like 280. Your arm is not fast enough for these discs. You really should be throwing like a 7 speed. If you can't throw a putter the length of the field you should work on form. Using the wrong disc and trying to cheat distance is going to hinder your growth. I like your videos and you seem like a good guy. Not trying to troll, just some helpful advice. Go back to putters and mids and get your form right, otherwise you're gonna be stuck at 300 for a while. Time Lapse is meant for people that can hit 5-700ft. Simon can hit 2 football fields no problem. That's why you can't get the right flight...just sayin
Throwing far isn’t so much what the video is about. End zone to end zone is 360. Keeping the camera flat on the ground makes it difficult to actually see where they ended up. I appreciate the comment.
Yeah, I did. All your time lapse throws were 300’ or less. You’re on a football field you can’t lie. You threw one wild shot that you said was 400 (it was not) but it was far from a golf line. Just don’t review 12 speeds bud you don’t have the arm

FISSION plastic Time Lapse is the WIN
I love it
How much u wanna bet all these neg comments can't match your distance with that Defy?
Absolute beam.
Appreciate that but it went like 350 on that shot. It definitely has more in it though.
James I just got my time lapse 🤘🏼 I got a blue one like you did, it is exactly what I want I can throw it flat and hard it's awesome
Rock on man! Have fun with it!
And all three were not the same toss lol
Check the flat shots.
You gotta throw over 300 to rate this disc
Those were all over 300. Did you watch the full video?
Yeah, I did. All your time lapse throws were 300’ or less. You’re on a football field you can’t lie. You threw one wild shot that you said was 400 (it was not) but it was far from a golf line. Just don’t review 12 speeds bud you don’t have the arm
I’m throwing even with the goal post on my side of the field. So the goal post on the other end is 360 away…
@@FlippyJamesDG…but you didn’t reach the goal post on the other side… …
@@bryansullivan9694 still wasn’t under 300’ throws 😂
Imagine not clearing a football field with a 12-speed zzz
Imagine love throwing discs no matter how far that go.
Lol colors don't matter 😂😂😂
Watch Simons video
@@FlippyJamesDG been playing 10yrs.
It's just a market thing like limited edition to sell that disc ..( everything is limited edition in disc golf ). I have black to red to clear to glow..the glow does have more power in it's flight it's heavier . But the colors don't matter at all... The weight does...168 full power will dive bomb not able to hold it's line. Vs same disc 175+
Math says it all with the factor of science.
The color means nothing just what do you like more or what fits your bag..
Simon is a sell out god.he turned his back completely on who made him
That's like you spent all your time and money into a girl and then she got everything and the big house and gold ring to say.. I'm walking away across the street to the guy who promised me more MVP..
MVP didn't need Simon to make a 12 speed.
There DEFY & PROTON PHOTON. Can and will do the same thing just like the wraith and destroyer.. Simon is just a market tool now a fat over weight grey chin sell out..
@@FlippyJamesDG Paul Mcbeth has been on countless events and and his name on discs you hear nothing about him he keeps to himself and enjoys disc golf .. not chasing blogs and famousness ( Simon)
Sells you a disc that's not even the correct flight for 40$ 😂
Prototype..
Except it literally does... Every manufacturer has come out and stated the same thing.
Here's Gateway's statement.
"Color effects temperature, which effects the cooling rate of shrinkage, which effects the final shape of the disc, which effects stability."
@user-dz6tx8tc1w dang. Did he turn you away from an autograph or something my guy?
