Sure, im awsre japan must still play a role in the design, but is it really a japanese product if most of it is (probably) western? Including thr games and their public. Sony is still a japanese company, but PS? Very much californian.

Damn. The old default menu was nostalgic. Yesterday I Setup my ps5, and gave my original ps4 from 2014 away to my brother. That was quite emotional. After entertaining me for 7 years, I move on, and slowly leave all the good memories behind.

I have also ps5 now. But absolutely no way my old consoles are going away. I even have my ps2 and ps3 still. You can always dust them off. Selling them always make you regret it afterwards.

Own a 2nd revision original PlayStation 4 myself. Got it for Christmas 2015 and it became mine again after my mum passed away December 2022. I’ve grown to love it again and its my daily driver console now. I’ll get a PS5….. eventually.

But don’t worry about the PS5, it’s not rare anymore so you should be able to get it when you have the money. Hope you get a PS5 soon.

@@NALTOHQ I have a regular PS5. I recommend getting the regular PS5 or at least the PS5 Slim (Although the PS5 Slim is dumb because it needs internet to use the damn disc drive).
I stay the hell away from digital only consoles like the PS5 Digital Edition or Xbox Series S. I like physical games and a lot of games would not be available at all if they weren’t released physically. Idc if the digital only version is cheaper, I will always choose the version that has a disc slot. Also Idk if you can play the PS4 games you had physically on a PS5. On the disc PS5 I can already play digital games anyway and plus I can use PS5 discs, PS4 discs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays.
Digital media should simply be an option, not a requirement. I want physical media like physical games, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and CDs to be available forever.

You know, I have a PS4 Slim myself. But what I really wanted at first (and still do to be honest) is a 2013 PS4. I instantly fell in love with the design but couldn't afford it by myself at that time. A couple of years later I did get the money but what the guy who sold it to me could get me was that white Slim console, so being pretty much the same, I guess I had no choice but take it. But I still think the original 2013 design is beautiful and outstanding. So powerful and elegant.
@Just Some Guy In The Sky but I like ps4 fat (original) much, their light bar serves as power press and the swashplate of original can be changed whereas slim and pro suffers from same plate throughout the life. My brother has slim and I have original (2013) and the performance of slim was better no doubt in every phase but we both loved the startup menu of mine one
As a PS4 original owner, I agree with everything you say. Though the slim had better wifi frequency and was quieter than its predecessor I still love the original design.
@Just Some Guy In The Sky There is a version of Fat Internet, the same as the one on the ladder, and this version is called Fat. v2
I don't like slim because they took of opitical digital which I use it and I got the OG white console. It doesn't have button to press the power button. It has a little TouchPad so you can press the power button and the eject button. It's a cool feature and I feel like it was ahead of time. PS5 doesn't have that feature.
Yeah, design wise I like the original too, but it's performance is awful

trust me bro just save up for a ps5, ps4 is such a great console but just get the newer gen it’ll be better in the long run.
You could have got your hands on one for 100$ before the PS5 was even announced.
If you're interested in buying a PS5 just wait for The Slim version or Pro, they will be more powerful and can handle big games in the future

Bought mine at Gamestop in '14, the Glacier White edition that came with Destiny, and still working hard with tons of PS4 games I bought over the years.

But my father was the person that knew I was getting bored. He still knows that I don't have any friends to play with. He called for me. I bought PS4 in April 2014 and this CUH-1001A B01 was the loudest console I ever had. Then I bought PS4 Pro in February 2019 and it's much quieter. But I have to say that the first PS4 last for 5 years without any hardware or software problems and also with original controllers which I bought with PS4. One of the best console generation.
Damn I still have that ps4 . It is still Running like a tank even though it sounds like a jet engine, Its been a while since I cleaned it. The ps4 is my baby lot of man hours put in it. Running an external 2tb HD. I still play with it and even have new games waiting to be played, but been busy. This video brought me nostalgia from Christmas day 8 years ago.

So cool reliving memories. Funny to say that it honestly didn’t feel like PS4 ended. This was my 1st system I bought with my own money. I barely had enough for the system and 3 months of Plus haha Got super lucky as well. It was when PS4 were sold out pretty much everywhere and I was able to get one in Jan ‘14 good times.

In 2013 that was decent. Up to that point console hard drives were 250, 320 or 500 GB. The only people who had 1 TB were those who bought it separately

@@Itsoktobesad_ games on cartridge don't copy to console. If you put witcher 3 cartridge in switch it won't take 30gb of space because it plays it from the cartridge. Only if you buy it digitally

Did anyone else watch The PapiGFunk back in 2013? First taste, Man. But fr this brings back wonderful memories as 14 year old me opened that console box for the first time. Never knew it would give me so much fun for 8 years. Now we out here being adults…I don’t want time to go on any longer, I need it to stop for at least just a few moments so I can reflect…and this video did that, thanks.

I still have my gen 1 console. I got it for Christmas in 2015 and it is very special to me. I’ve looked after it and it works like brand new. Mine is the 1tb version so I don’t have any gloss black. It’s full Matt black
I still have my OG PS4 I got at launch for Christmas when I was 13 with Killzone ShadowFall, BF4, COD Ghosts which I hated & Black Flag. It lasted me all generation until I got a PS5 on launch day (Pre-Ordered) & retired it under my bed. Last gen felt more next gen when it came out than this current gen does imo. Battlefield 4 & Killzone blew my mind graphically coming off the PS3 which I had the slim version of.
