I got my PS4 in 2014- it was a bizarre night. it was about 8pm in probably 4th grade, and my parents took me and my brother to this burger joint in town, within walking distance, so naturally we walked. Dad decided that he wanted to “surprise us” and we proceeded to walk 6 miles to best buy to go get a ps4. wtf dad, but whatever we still have that thing and I love it.

Not mine lol. I’ve had to go through 5 different power boxes or whatever they are called and I have to lift the Xbox all the way up so it can read discs.
Mine works fine, but I upgraded to the One X when that came out.
I remember getting this after busting my ass at Wendy's and being impressed that I could play a console version of Battlefield 4 that was genuinely on par with my PC.

I actually love the design of the Xbox one original, I'm probably blinded by nostalgia, since as a 13 year old, this is what I grew up on, but the design looks sleek and moderns, like a sophisticated entertainment device, with no buttons or anything. The series X design is definitely better, I like how neat it is, like a little box. I swear I spent 10 minutes or so just looking at the damn thing when i got it in my hands. I have always preferred the look of Xbox to PlayStation, I guess I just like the standard designs. I also love the Kinect and bought an adaptor to use it on the series X so maybe im an idiot.
Are you 13 now? Or was you 13 back in 2013? I was 13 in 2013 and I got both the PS4 and Xbox One on each of their launch days but I’ve played the PS4 way way more the past 8 years than the Xbox one. I’ve still played the Xbox one a lot but I’ve just always been more of a PlayStation guy. In the PS3 and 360 gen I played them both about the same (PS3 was defiantly more but they were a lot closer than my time on Xbox one compared to ps4 this generation)

I got an Xbox one in 2013 as a Christmas present. It's the only console I ever had and I still use it 8 years later. Though I must admit it struggles very badly with newer games. Reaching down into the 20 FPS range.

Mann I was in the 10th grade when this thing released. Just the year before, I got my first 360, a slim, just like the one shown at 5:27. On Christmas 2014, I finally got this Xbox One. I spent so many hours on it. Such a great console. I still play it today. Still looks as pristine and shiny as it did that day 9 years ago. Love it!
I was using the 360 up until 2015-2016 and the new Xbox one s came out that Christmas I must have been in grade 8 or so and my parents got me it. It was such an amazing upgrade, I sold it later in 2022 when I got into computers but I found a used one s again online I got later as I enjoyed it so much and eventually sold that also. Now I'm using the Xbox series x and good lord is it fast. I remember being 6 and still using the original Xbox system and how amazing it was playing Halo and Flatout, boy Time flies when you're having fun.
I still own my first Xbox 360 the elite model from 2008. I used to play Minecraft in it I remember there only being like 200 blocks to the whole game, today there are over 700 blocks lol. I remember you could only build cobblestone and oak wood houses now there are many options but this is early Minecraft

The average shelf life for those batteries is about 5-10 years before they go bad I believe.

Battery life is as black and white like the expire. Iv found old toys that are more than 20 years old with batteries in them and a miracle they still work.
Batteries are not like food. You can use them after the "expiry " date. But just get rechargeable. Ive had mine for over 5 years and saved alot on batteries .

I always liked how Xbox let’s you switch out batteries. That’s probably one of my favorite things I like over the DualShock. My tv and when I typically sit aren’t near eachother and I’m terrible at remembering to charge things I don’t take with me. But I do have an unhealthy amount of batteries I’ve accumulated over the years.

I don’t want to sound presumptuous because I am indeed rooting my own horn lmao but I snagged a day one Xbox one from goodwill holiday 2016 (unopened) and it’s held on to this day. It’s amazing how pristine it looks fresh out of the box. Can’t wait to get my Series X! Great video

Hello my bro, I am your number one fan and I love your unboxing videos of the xbox series x and xbox one x
I really liked the day one edition. kinect for motion never worked right.. but the voice commands were great.. you just couldn't have the tv up too loud. the unboxing experience .. as can be seen here.. was premium. I really liked the square shape, and the console itself was whisper quiet.. I never minded the boxiness. When playing games at night it disappeared in your entertainment center which was how it was designed. I also liked the touch sensor to power it on. I never had trouble with it turning on accidentally like people had reported. This video only makes me wish I never sold it. That all being said.. My Series X is even better. Still has that premium feel, still whisper quiet and disappears into the background at night. Microsoft really does well with console design. Great video, and thank you.

Let it be known that the Xbone Kinect is NOT dead. I used it to “become” Iron Man at the Marvel Exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum. It was pretty dope too.
Funny that you say that. Often times when I'm at a museum and I see some time of controller free interactive experience, I always take a look at the camera powering the experience. More often than not, it's a Kinect. The tech in the Kinect for Xbox One is still pretty impressive for non gaming applications.

Was in high school, was lucky enough to get it delivered to my house day one, I got the notification on my phone during lunch that it had been delivered.. I looked out it was poring rain... Luckily enough the xbox was fine under the porch when I got home. Thing is working fine to this day.
Had this model for 6 in a half years, and damn I had a good time on it.
To be fair the Xbox One has received a lot of improvements from all the updates. And since launch it has slowed down a lot.
My friend went through the pain of owning one since year one. He says the constant updates from Microsoft made it a better console no longer a TV or Water cooler.

Despite all the crap it got, the original Xbox One version was actually really awesome. Especially if you connected it to your cable top box. I remember snapping NFL scores next to Madden 25... Also using Kinect to turn on and off the Xbox was neat too. They definitely took a risk and it didn't pay off in the long run, but it was still a great console.
It's not that it didn't pay off. Looking back, there were a lot of things that, had it worked out, Xbox would have been way ahead of everyone else. Heck, I even get what their intent was on the game disc only carrying the data, but not the licence. The problem was how all of this was horribly introduced to the public, and how the wrong things were prioritized. Not to mention these were all features, all the TV stuff, probably would not have worked in many countries.
I'm in high school now, I used to watch you in middle school when I first got into Middle School haven't watched you since but I have missed this what's my recommendation page show!
