GREAT JOB, guys! My treehouse that I built in 93 blew down last year, so now I want to make a tiny in front of my new firepit...You're inspiring this 67 year old!
Very cool. You started from almost nothing, build a house for your family , land you can build a garden. your own man on your own land. It doesn't get better then that. Well done.A+
Thank you! some people hate it, but were going for a more clean look then the raw pallet wood. Also helps it feel bigger inside. We may or may not paint the outside.
Nice job and its a very cool thing to have. A couple of thoughts.. If you're bent on painting it, spray it before hauling the panels into the woods, easy enough to touch up later. Make your dang door taller. Make your porch overhang higher too. Compact, or solidify the cinder block pads.. the dirt looks soft.
you did a swell job and should be quite proud of yourself :) thank you for making this feel more accessible to all us folks that want to do this exact thing as well
@Steep in the Wood, your mission was accomplished -- you have definitely inspired me. I was amazed to see the family at work and the creation was a masterpiece. I will be setting up here shortly and hope my experiment turns out half as nice as yours. Wish me luck, guys!!🤔
And honestly... What more can one ask for?. It's got four walls you'd be out of the weather and most of all you're in a spot where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. I could die a happy man in such a sweet spot lol. Again please enjoy your hard work and take care. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🍻
@@SteepintheWoods That's awesome!. Well I hope that you reach your goal and then some 🤞🏻🙏🏻.. I myself have been looking desperately for a spot to build a nice cozy home the last few years and my only obstacles seem to be property taxes and being able to actually get a permit to build a somewhat tiny cabin believe it or not.. Anyways thanks so much again for sharing this with us and I look forward to seeing the next build. 🙏🏻
Where our land is you don't need a permit for a "movable" structure.. one with runners under it. or one that is 12x12x12 or smaller. also you can place two side by side as long as there not permantly attached to each other. One thing we did do was install a septic.. with a septic and a movable structure or a 12x12x12 your on the clear so long as you don't care for a mail box, P.O box will work fine for us.
@@SteepintheWoods I even switched jobs with my buddy one sumner and it was he had to cut every lawn I took care of and all I really had to do was split 43 cords of wood and I ended up getting it all done in just two and a half months all by myself lol.. Off grid living is absolutely hard work no doubt but something about knowing all that hard work goes to bettering your situation to me just makes it so much better or more worth it you know?.
I'd love to do something like this! It was cool to see the thought process that went into building it starting with panels offsite and hauling in to expedite the building process. Loved the video, liked and subscribed
Awesome #palletCabin! Would love to see plans or video explaining how you came up with the design, especially for the #roof. I've not seen a roof like that in any of the other pallet cabin channels.
The most interesting is to see step by step whow to make it. Like but please next make the beginning slowlier to see more. From Spain thanks and Merry Cristmas.
Cool structure, but I don't think I would have gone with white. It looks like a refrigerator truck =p. I like the module construction. Palette are natural components to stuff with insulation too.
That's a really nice little cabin would be even better if it was bigger with the same layout. I'd love a cabin like that in woodland/a forest I'd be happy living in a cabin like that I've always been an outdoorsy guy from a very early age nice and peaceful just the sounds of nature very relaxing Maybe one day i will get back to being the outdoorsy guy again and 🤞 get hold of some woodlands/forests land where i can live in a nice little cabin the sooner the better
Thank you! I understand many people would have preferred I kept it natural. But I really like bright spaces! There are still plans to put a small deck off the back and to finish it completely (the bedroom is still half done) If it turns out nice enough it may be a second B&B.. time will tell.. Thank you for watching!
I love this pallet cabin would be cool out by the ponds by my place hmmm might have to build me one u inspired this ole man soon as my bgg ip heals( had it replaced )....
That's the goal!! We ended up adding a bedroom to it.. and now are building a larger place for full time living. You might check it out. Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed seeing the cabin build and love your friend. He has such an amazing spirit in each video! Enjoy the cabin. My dream is to have one in a few years!
My sister and I have an acre of heir land in Mississippi. I'm currently living and working in Illinois but planning to have my retirement cabin there in about 5 years. Hopefully sooner with a financial miracle because I'm not a builder like you guys. I admire those like you who have the skills. Me I'm an illustrator so I'd have to hire a builder or buy a prefabricated one like Derksen. Keep entertaining us with your videos because it inspires me to reach my goal/dream!👍
@Have fun yes, the property is several feet away from our family owned lake. My dad and his brothers had the lake made years ago in the early 80s. My dad passed away in 1982, and his brothers shortly thereafter
@Have fun No because I've been in Illinois and my sister is in Wisconsin. We're planning on going there to do a land survey sometime in 2020, but we haven't scheduled an exact itinerary for the trip. I haven't been to Mississippi since my father passed, but my sister went there to check on the property last September
@Have fun Perhaps. But if not, I will definitely film when we get there. I will continue to keep in touch with you if you'd allow me to. I'm currently at work so I will talk to you soon. I love your cabin very much!
hell yeah, the girlfriend and I just watched and are stoked. We just bought five acres in the PNW and looking to build something small to sleep in and maybe have a propane stove, this would almost work! Any recent updates on the cabin besides the outhouse?
Ideally, you would normally clear the area around your foundation first, removing any stumps, branches, bark or wood chips, any organic material likely to attract termites to your wooden house.
The next cabinet build or make an addition onto this one check with your big box warehouse and see if they have any return paint you can save a lot of money with that
Ok lm sorry about my other comment not that it was bad, but l see now the house isn’t on as bigger slope as l thought, be safe stay happy we’re possible, god bless yous
LOVE it!!! Thanks for sharing - would love a tiny cabin just like that. Not sure about a white floor though... lol But, hey, I guess keeping it cheap was the key. Cheers
I think the whole interior is too stark with white everywhere! Like the inside of a refrigerator! They could have tinted the paint with a bit of colour, and a darker shade for the floor. Personally, I wouldn't have painted it at all. It looked great with the rustic wooden walls.

Stick around! Hope to start the next one soon, and that one will be our permanent place!
I plan to.. U keep up the good work an best to u the wife and child
@@SteepintheWoods how much did the pallet wood cost In total

Now this is my kind of house. Tiny and in the woods. Great job.
Just good ole boys drinkin a beer and having fun stayin out of trouble
Cheryl Hirsch DIY Fun And dont forget pretty cheap!
I love the white paint inside. It does something for it. It makes it look so clean and fresh.
A plan, a place and good friends to help. It's rustic, easy to assemble and looks very nice. Good job.
That would be a great get away campin/fishing home for me and my wife
I like the traditional Australian whitewash interior. Makes it a lot easier to keep clean, and more light.
Thank you! some people hate it, but were going for a more clean look then the raw pallet wood. Also helps it feel bigger inside. We may or may not paint the outside.
This is cool man. It might not be perfect, but nothing in the woods ever is...
Very nice
so glad this come up in my feed. Very inspiring for me as i plan to do my own home soon. Thanks for sharing!♥️

you could plaster the walls and the ceiling, then put down some diamonds mess then 2 1/2 in concrete on the cheap and sturdy
I like it!!
I like the style of the house wood.. And simple.. I like the place also..
Thanks! We have another one on the way In the near future
It looked 100% better before the paint
Different strokes for different folks. I agree, but obviously they liked the painted look.
Nah the white is right son
Exactly what I was thinking lol, that white paint ruined the interior. But besides that, it's perfect
Exactly what I thought. You open the door and step into a refrigerator!!!
Much better before painting!
Paint is definitely cleaner

bravi molto bella👍👏👏👏
Now add 2 or 3 more and a outdoor kitchen all surrounding the area, throw a garden or 2, some deer stands and you have a full community.
That is the plan! Air B&B's possibly.. Our next step is to build a larger one to stay in full time but after that a few more smaller ones.
