Hey, I see a lot of what looks like Double Die on "Liberty" on these new 2023 D Mintmark pennies. Especially on the "T" and "Y" on the coin. I see the right side of the letter "R" protruding outwards towards the right. I also see a lot of slight doubling on the words "GOD" & "TRUST" & other letters on the Reverse. There is clearly the normal lettering, then when you look at the coin with just a 10X coin magnifier, you can see the clear shelving that looks like doubling. The same on 2021 pennies. Is this normal for these coins and considered to have no value? The doubling is not as prominent as what is featured in your video, the doubling is next to the letters. But you can clearly see a second shelf or plateau at a lower level that contours the letters. The coins in question are coming from Loomis bank rolls Any thoughts? ..
I have a 2023 penny with a circle stamp that goes from Lincoln's head on left down thru the bottom of him, thru the date and stops a little before eye! I've never seen anything like it! (Shield on back)
Imagine getting a 1909-S in your change. (maybe) just because a KID wanted a piece of candy at the local Mom and Pops store around the corner and he took it from his dads collection..
No one designed a Lincoln penny or any USA penny. The USA has never had a coin called a penny they are Cents not pennies . Have you ever gone to a store and a crasher ask you for a 5 penny coin or a 25 penny coin? Nope a cent is 100th of a dollar that is why it is called a cent. England used pennies
Hey I just wanted to say thanks for all the years that you've been educating everyone. I appreciate it & I've learned a lot from you. Thanks. I see You're growing up, becoming a man. Welcome!
I have been watching you for about 4-5 years. I have to congratulate you on your videos. Your videos are so much better now! You have always had great information, but your presentation is so much better now! “You’ve come a long way baby!” Keep up the great work! 🙏🌎☮️♥️
Dig the new look! Went from young man -ball cap and T-shirt to sophisticated young man -comb over and collar shirt …! Cute …thanks for the info - great content ! Keep it up ! Been a subscriber for a while :) ❤
MS67 is a very good grade for a modern penny...so that's WHY the graded one sold for a handsome sum...it was not JUST that it was graded , it IS because most brand new pennies are lucky to get MS65 due to all the carbon spotting and nicks / gouges from the mint.
I think I have a newly discovered error on the 2020 bat quarter. I have chunks of it missing the outer layer of the quarter in various places but it looks like it happened at the mint. I'd love to send you a picture. I've never seen this before on this quarter
Appreciate your efforts, good presentation. I do have coins that you have shown. And Brother, I have a lot of quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies galore!
Has anyone else noticed that almost all error coins come from the Philadelphia mint? Makes you wonder if the quality control there is way poorer than Denver or if it’s intentional
It's been that way forever!! Its the east coast, totally different attitude, nobody cares!! But 1 thing in their defense- they produce more coins than the other mints do, and sometimes by a long shot when you look at production numbers. Done intentionally, no !! Because someone would be going to jail!! That happened about 20 yrs or so ago at the Denver mint. An employee tried sneaking out some error coins that were found during inspection and was caught by security. I'll have to keep an eye out for the 23 dbl die, I got a nice rainbow colored 72 dbl die, & the 55 dbl die is about out of reach for me.
@@davidpawlowski6909 not really true about Philly production being higher, take a look in the Red Book for mintage figures there are many times Denver produced more with very few errors. I will be touring the Denver mint next month and I intend to ask them about it
It seems that the banks have been stashing away large numbers of coins for years. I have found some pennies from the 1990s in change that look like they're brand new; no oxidation, and definitely no wear. What's going on with that, and are they worth collecting? Thanks, your videos are excellent.
Not worth collecting. Find a local bank. Open an account. Ask them to order you a box of half dollar coins every week. Go though them for silver coins. Put the regular coins back in the used roll covers with tape, then put the rolled coins back in the box. Open an account at Bank of America or TD Bank. Redeposit the coin there. Never return coins to where you got them. That will piss them off. And they will not order coins for you again. If you do that.
@@amberlopez7477 I did exactly that, about 12 years ago. Hoping to find even one silver coin, I got $100.00 worth of half-dollars from two different banks ($50.00 from each one). After going through 200 coins, one-by-one, all I found were the usual copper-core pieces. I spent weeks using them in stores just to get rid of them. Try carrying even $8.00 worth of those heavy things around! Most of the cashiers had never seen half-dollars before, and one customer even thought they were "foreign" coins.
I found 2 of these “VDB V” penny’s yesterday and I’ve noticed after comparing them to some others that they have a cud on Lincolns forehead. I’m not sure if every one of these have that, but both of mine did and several pictures I’ve seen online do as well.
I have recently found a 1946 penny that has been fashioned into a button. I got a jar of buttons and sorting them came across it. How can I determine its value?
Hello I went to my bank and requested if they have any new box of 2023 penny they told me that they don’t carry it it is random from the reserve so basically it just mere luck on getting that penny though the coin hunt??
What mint is the doubled die from? Also, it's funny how the the only "V" you can make out is the one that's extra, because the other 3 letters don't look anything like letters. Certainly not legible as VDB. Still, we know that's what's supposed to be there.

If I find a penny with the extra v. How do I get money for it without doing it online , without using eBay? I don't know how to do that. And I have no desire to learn how to use a computer, I think it is way too difficult.
i DO have a 2022 with a 'v" i will say its not AS defined but its def there and in the same location so i don't think these are 2023 only not according to mine anyway
I found what I think is an error coin today. How can I find out if it is an error? It's a 2015 penny without all the copper on both sides and it also doesn't have the ridge around the sides of either side either. It's very uniform however so I don't think it is worn off
So if a DDO hasn't been classified as such, is it actually a DDO? Obviously there are several doubling categories. I think most of us would like to have a recognized DDO over something someone on Ebay or Etsy claims it is. So if it's not recognized, then what is it?
I have one thats raised on the obverse side . On the reverse side no sign of why its poking out on the reverse side, it doesn't have trauma on the reverse I have 🤔 hummm what a funny thing.😊 However happy hunting everybody!
I feel like THIS is the reason ppl are getting into coin collecting, its not even about "collecting" to them... it would be more about selling them... I dont understand why ppl would even buy a coin with any error on them... how any of that gets past the minting process is also something I dont get either... like if you found it from pocket change or whatever and you collect those, keep them but why sell them? I feel like theres a fine line between "coin collecting" and "coin selling"... but thats just me...
Pretty cool story. The first ever game I went to at Paul Brown Stadium the Bengals vs Browns in 2001. The player came up to me after the game and gave me the ball.
