These coins were unfindable in circulation forever. As a former coin collector who looked through endless rolls of coins 30 years ago. None of these coins could be found and had to be bought to fill out your collection. Anything valuable and old has been taken out of circulation many years ago as coin collecting has always had many followers.

As a child in the 60's, I found the one cent pennies interesting and would save them every time I found one. I had quite a few of them, and for some strange reason, I mixed them in a container with regular pennies and gave them away. Later I learned that a penny of a certain year was worth a bit of money, and I just knew that I had it.

It's interesting to see these because many people brush off wheat pennies as if they're nothing. I went to a coin shop near me and the guy said "well these you can go ahead and spend".... I literally had wheat penny's encased in a collection set. I usually go through my pennies a few times a year to find the wheaties. Sometimes I'll even find pennies on the ground and check if they're wheat. I just find them all fascinating.

Its worth noting that i stopped collecting coins when i tried to sell a rare penny and the buyer tried to rip me off by saying well i can get the same penny a year later for 5 cent that was the exact moment i decided to sell my entire collection and just put my money in the bank been putting my money in the bank most every paycheck since 1999 and am proud to say that the interest collected is worth far more than the resell value of most coin collections not trying to say collecting coins cant be profitable way to add a little extra income to your retirement but i will say collecting common coins is not the way

The US Mint does not issue PENNIES. These are are one CENT pieces as indicated by the word between the two wheat seed heads on the obverse side of the coin you refer to.

The A is filled in; like it looks like a pyramid or the Eiffel Tower, due to not having the tiny triangle notch in the center that makes the A itself stand out as it’s letter. Also every other A on the coin has the expected tiny notch that makes a triangle the letter A. Trippyyyy

Hi Justin, i recently found an wheat penny i found quite interesting and was wondering if you knew anything about it. It's the reverse of a wheat penny but the obverse side of the penny is totally non existent, it looks like it was maybe a secret compartment for a microchip or something. I remember hearing about these "spy coins" when i was younger but idk much about them rn, any info would be greatly appreciated. It won't let me post the pics for some reason

2:28It's NOT three hundred, AND forty-five dollars; it's three hundred, forty-five dollars. When it's the same form of currency, there is NO "and". When it's more than one form of currency, then you add the word "and" between the two different forms of currency only.
Example Gratuitous: Three hundred, forty-five dollars, "AND" twenty-five cents.
I take it that you've never written a check (cheque).

50+ years ago, coin collecting was a treasure hunt every time you got a roll of pennies, nickels or dimes from a bank. As a kid I made a fortune. NOT ANYMORE. Older coins were works of art that you could count the hairs on Lincoln's head. Now, its mass produced, low quality metal junk. The metal melted down is worth more than the coin.

I can assure you beyond any doubt that there is virtually NO chance of finding any one of those coins in circulation today. Just not happening. They were all snagged up by collectors many years ago. The only chance of finding anything of real value is looking through some old folks' penny jars. Otherwise, looking for them is just a waste of time.
