TBH, Oakland has bigger problems to deal with than this.
No lie
Yeah - like the democrats running the city into the ground
they haven’t dealt with those problems for years what makes you think they’re going to magically solve them
Hell yeah they do. Lots of restaurants closing because of skyrocketing crime, to many homelessness. Bruh, I would not want to move to California. Its a MESS!!!!!!
This is terrible for the fans in Oakland. As a raider fan born in Los Angeles home for the raiders will always be Oakland. The games there felt like home.
This is three strikes for Oakland.
L.A., Oakland and Las Vegas, are all Raider towns.
@@FischerFan Yeah baby.

Billionaires should pay their own business expenses.
This is a tragedy because the Oakland Athletics used to be such a winning baseball franchise.
oakland in the 70's is doing then current day oakland
A's have been bottom feeders for 20 years. Barely pulling in enough revenue. Gotta go where the money is.
I laughed really hard when he said Oakland was a great city.
That's ok. I am sure Joe Biden called Baltimore a great city when he visited it today.
It could just be false sympathy.
He’s lying
Great at what ? I bet there's some slum lords, gang members and drug dealers who think Oakland is sweet.
He sounds delusional
That’s now 3 pro teams to leave Oakland since 2019! Denny’s and In-N’-Out franchises also bailing. Maybe the city council should look in the mirror ffs!
Libby Schaaf and Sheng Thao are horrible mayors who really didn't care about the Warriors, A's and the Silver and Black. No wonder those 3 bailed out of Oakland.
The Warriors ownership group said they were moving to San Francisco the day they bought the team. The Raiders left Oakland in the 80's, because they wouldn't build them luxury boxes. They left Los Angeles in the 90's because they wouldn't give them a new stadium. They then left Oakland, because they wouldn't buy them a new stadium. They will leave Vegas in 20 years when they don't buy them a new stadium. The A's want someone to buy them a new stadium and when Vegas ends up not doing that they may just end up in a AAA park for 30 years. Tempe voted no for tax incentives for the Coyotes and Kansas City voted no for tax incentives for their teams. The trend of publicly financed stadiums are coming to an end.
Agree. Did you hear that idiot Gallo say they were planning to petition the NFL and MLB to get expansion franchises to Oakland? Talk about delusional. I live 25 minutes outside of Baltimore, which is a total cesspool, but Oakland has it beat in that department!!
Oh no not Denny's! 🤡
it all starts in the local courts with woefully inept attorneys who simply do not want to lock up criminals
💔 I was born in Oakland in 1954. By the time Charlie Finley moved his team from Kansas City to Oakland, I was living in San Leandro. That was just a short freeway hop to go see early Oakland A’s games. I remember seeing Bert “Campy” Campaneris, Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, Rick Monday, Dave Duncan, Catfish Hunter, Blue Moon Odom, and all the rest of the A’s.
In those days, the Oakland Coliseum was a wonderful stadium. Years later Oakland Raiders owner made the City of Oakland and Alameda County pay to build Mount Davis. I’ve been in the stadium to see Raiders game in that mess of a stadium, and it was sort of OK. But Oakland still owes a shiteload of money for building that outfield piece of crud.
Now, Charlie Finley was a cheapskate and didn’t pay his players and managers very well. It was a big deal when he re-signed centerfielder Rick Monday to a $100,000 per year contract. That might have hurt Finley, but I think it was a good signing.
Decades later we have a new owner, John Fisher. He seems to be as much of a cheapskate as Charlie Finley was, not paying enough for his players so that fans don’t want to go see a bunch of AAA and AA players go up against MLB teams. The past two seasons the A’s have gone 60-102 and 50-112, and hardly anyone expects them to do better in 2024 (right now they are 2-7 which might equate to a 36 win season. Ugh!).
I’ve been around to see the Oakland Raiders leave Oakland TWICE. Those were Al Davis’s decisions. Before he passed away, Al made his son Mark promise that the Raiders would move to Las Vegas. Al sort of lost his mental abilities in his declining years, so I definitely blame him for the mess. When the Raiders left Oakland, I gave up watching any NFL football.
I now live near San Jose, and I was pissed when the A’s couldn’t move to the proposed Cisco Field right near downtown. It would have had access to main Santa Clara Transit bus lines, plus the Diridon Train Station that would have brought fans with CalTrain and Amtrak. Part of the reason that Cisco Field never came to being was the San Francisco Giants, who believed that the City of San Jose was part of THEIR territory. I’ve been a Giants fan for most of my life, but that event gave a bad taste in my mouth for the Giants.
So, I am sad for the Oakland A’s fans that they are losing a MLB team, but on the other hand I’m happy to see the A;s leave. The ownership didn’t want to be in Oakland. Now, they are Sacramento’s problem.
Sutter Health Park has a capacity of ~14K. Means the A's might even sell it out once in a while.
I doubt it. Maybe opening day but after that, 2,000 to 4,000 fans max.
@@BlacksRuinEverything why are you guys soooo salty? More people show up to river cats games then that regularly, so you think less people are going to show when the stadium gets remodeled and there’s an mlb team? FYI people are already trying to get season tickets. No one wants to go the bay and deal with 3rd world problems, traffic, AND pay more for everything just because.
Yet Oakland could barely draw 8,000 at the coliseum. It isn't a Sacramento problem, it's an Oakland problem.
I hope Sacramento stays home. Don’t enable assholes like Kaval
@@kristoferscott3677Well now the A's are not an Oakland problem; they're a Sacramento problem.
So Is it the Sacramento Athletics now?
Doubt it. Likely just “Athletics”.
I had a merry-go-round of thoughts on that. Clearly they can’t call them the Oakland A’s, but has there ever been a team with no actual city name behind it that would be bizarre. Anyways who cares they’re gone🤷♂️
New Jersey jets and giants 😂
Santa Clara 49ers 😂
@@Jeffgordonfan24hesthegoat Well, both the Giants and Jets did start in a NYC borough before settling in East Rutherford, NJ.
The Giants played in the Bronx while the Jets played in Queens.
I have supported the A's since I moved to California from London in 2001. Over recent years it has been like watching a real life version of Major League with the ownership determined to run the organization into the ground to earn a move to a richer environment. All I can say is I feel so sorry for the fans. Fans that have grown up supporting the green and gold. This whole notion of moving teams is a huge weakness in American sports, well that and a lack of a relegation system which if it was in place would deter them from throwing seasons to help create this situation. But that being said the owners of the A's are a bunch of money grabbing slimeballs and I hope that they get their comeuppance sooner or later.
LOL the funny part is that movie was based off of oakland if i'm not mistaken.
there is also the movie "MoneyBall".
Nobody wants to go to Oakland because it is a cesspool of crime, thanks to far left politicians being soft on crime. People going to A's, Warriors and Raiders games got their cars broken into in the parking lot. Take BART to a game, you run the risk of being jacked up and mugged.
3 sports teams leaving Oakland is a merely symptom of what is wrong with Oakland, and it's not going to get better.
Also, we don't need a bunch of azzhole politicians dictating to the ownership as to what they can and cannot do. There is already way too much of that here in America already.
Cheerio mate
MK Dons exist. A sports team moving is not exclusively American. But, yeah it probably happens a lot more here than elsewhere. I don't think anyone would have let fisher near the helm of an MLB team if we had relegation. But who knows
@@dualsportdadz MK Dons was a one off fortunately and the fans responded by creating AFC Wimbledon and took them up into the same division as the Dons. Which is great story. Yeah there is a lot of positives about a relegation system. For one it means you can't throw a season for draft picks.

Look at this. The ownership is laughing at all of NorCal while they watch us argue over scraps. Sac has it's share of problems just like Oakland and LV. When the auto industry left Detroit and even when the real estate bubble burst no one crapped on eachothers' city.
Real Americans crap all over Democrat run urban cesspools, and justifiably so. They are all a shadow of their former greatness.
If Sacramento gets an MLB team, it will similar to the then-New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) successfully playing in OKC which paved the way for the creation of the Thunder, albeit at the expense of Seattle and the Sonics fans. I hope when Sacramento gets an MLB team, it will be by expansion, not ripping a team out of a city like the NBA did to the Sonics of course.
Sacramento is where many failed Bay Area residents go and now we can add The Athletics to the list.

Hello Kitty Mayor.
That Dave guy just looks like a slimy liar.
This was most likely the result of people, and politicians, demanding that the A's can not leave. They very well could have stayed another year while their Las Vegas facility is under construction but it was probably a better plan just to get away from the city so that there are no more protests at games, and boycotting (after buying all the tickets)
The A's should have left California.
I think Omaha, NE could support a major league team.
They are when the stadium is done in Vegas
People bitchig and complaining about John Fisher, what do you expect when you own a team in a terrible crime written city and the mayor that does not want to work with you, of course i dont blame the owner for getting the fuck out, you had a NFL/NBA team leave the city already, majority of A’s fans are not even from Oakland, born and raised in oakland and they many people that went to these home games were mostly from north or South Bay. I didnt mind paying extra in taxes to keep these jar league teams in my town instead you now have tax payers paying extra going towards homelessness and drug crimes that will never be solves smfh
So are they gonna be called the Sacramento A’s temporarily, before changing to LV A’s or….? 🤔
They are now the John Fisher baseball team.
Even sports teams are abandoning Oakland.
The A's ownership after Walter A. Haas died in 1995, the Oakland City and Alameda County governments are to blame for the A's unable to create a baseball-only facility much sooner.

Oakland A's move to Sacramento is really weird, especially after traditions of World Series Titles on 3 different occasions and the legends that MADE the team what its become
Well, something had to give sooner or later. The Giants blocked the proposed move to San Jose.
Now that the team will be playing in Sacramento for the short term, who will the team be known as? The Sacramento A's? The California A's?
None of this can look good on MLB.

"Seating capacity about a third of the coliseum", THAT IS SO FUNNY! The Sacramento River Cats, a MINOR league team average more than the A's at Oakland. What was the opening attendance for the Oakland A's vs the Sacramento River Cats in 2024?

@@FischerFanYes, Fisher's to blame in the Raiders leaving, because he blocked development of a new Raiders stadium at the Coliseum.
The Colisseum will be torn down and a minor league park will be constructed for a PCL Oakland club named the Oakland Oaks. The A's franchise is not the only one to embarrass people. I am a Chicagoan and my team the White Sox are a disgrace. A painful 6-year rebuilding program has ended in disaster and ownership is going to try to rebuild again until they move into a new downtown stadium. The talent on their major league roster is Triple-A in quality which guarantees 500 regular season defeats until their Loop stadium is completed.
This is all wrong. First Sutter Health Park is in the city of West Sacramento. In YOLO county. That’s not Sacramento or Sacramento county. Sutter holds 14,000 people to Oaklands 63,000 but renovations are in the works to expand before next year by 4-6 thousand. Which is way more than Oakland can fill in. West Sacramento will pack the house every night. Oakland was selling bogo tickets opening day to make it look full.
The city of Oakland should shut off the electricity at the Coliseum for the rest of the season. Make 'em only play day games from here on out, using the hand-operated scoreboard.
I mean, what are the A’s gonna do? Move?
I understand people from Sacramento are excited to get a big league team, even if it's just temporary, but if they are in solidarity with A's fans, they should boycott the move altogether. No fans deserve to lose their team. But of course everything happens because of more greed equals to bigger profits...smh. I feel for you, A's fans.

The A's president couldnt manage a target.
A temporary home in Metro Sacramento as a temporary "Sacramento A's" before becoming the Las Vegas A's in 2028.
What is the A's average attendance in Oakland? So far in 2024 it's 6,200 per home game, dead last in the MLB. When was the last time they sold out? Never. I'm willing to bet that attendance at A's games in Sacramento will be more than double what it has been in Oakland.
Oakland has more important problems than sports, witch led to the problems with the sportsball teams leaving. I see it every day! Democrat mess.
This the most embarrassing thing for a baseball team! They deserve way better! Oakland got bigger problem embarrassing!
Had I live in the Bay Area I wouldn't waste my time nor my money with the A's in Sacramento.
Oaklanders can drive to Sactown to watch them!
What Oakland needs to do is demolish it's Mausoleum and build a new, modern stadium for football/soccer, one for baseball and an indoor arena with all the amenities. The Mausoleum is totally out of date, its infrastructure is crumbling, the sewers back up and there is the overall problem of Oakland itself. That's why the Raiders bailed for Vegas, the A's are following them and the Warriors are back in San Francisco. But they need to fix the city first.
Are they going to be call Sacramento A's?
So the Giants are getting the Oakland fans?
They’re too proud to admit it but some of them already are.
Best thing to ever happen to the A’s
Kaval is a snake 🐍. This team really needed new ownership/management, moving to Sacramento/Vegas won't make them a better baseball team. If I’m in Oakland fan, I’m not even hurt they never ever spent any money to put together a competitive team they’re stupid money ball theory only got your team, competitive enough to get your hopes up just to watch you lose to the New York Yankees and on top of all of that lose all of your top talent to the same team that beat the crap out of you every postseason when you were competitive, they were a few years here and there where you stumbled into successful seasons, but nothing really anything to brag about. This is probably for the best as the team was using the city to fund a cheap owner, trying to stay rich by not spending a single dime in that stadium, players coaches, and we’re talking about a team in one of the richest states of our nation a state that has three other baseball teams besides the Oakland Athletics
Bring warriors too!

I wonder if the boycott will continue in some form, after the new stadium is built and the As become the LV Athletics. I mean John Fisher will still be the owner. Don’t know how it’s going to play out, hopefully good for the As players and it’s new and existing fans.

To be honest, Oakley never deserved any professional sports teams... Maybe just call them Bay area teams and having them based out of San Francisco playing in Oakland. How New York does with its teams? I don't know, but I've always felt weird about Oakland being a sports city, even as a kid I was like why it's such a shitty city
When the AFL team in Oakland originally began in 1960, more than two years before their "managing general partner" franchise legend Al Davis arrived to reshape the team into a winner, the first year their home games were either at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park or at the brand new Candlestick Park when there was only open air and its scoreboard beyond the outfield baseball fences (perhaps you could see on youtube some old highlights of the 1961 All-Star Game or the 1962 World Series), unlike in Dallas, Los Angeles and New York where the new AFL teams were where there were already NFL teams, the AFL started with a team named for Oakland instead of having a couple of years with a "San Francisco Raiders" before leaving for this place that was just a "erector", 20,000 seat stadium called Frank Youell Field until the new Coliseum was opened officially in the 1966 preseason.
Maybe they should have moved to sacramento

😂😂😂 we live rent free in your head
@@dualsportdadzwhy does cali live rent free in others heads? I think the deteriorating city is on full display. No need to think about it until it pops up in our news stories.
California is so uncompetitive that we still have another baseball team 15 minutes away from the one that’s moving out & 2 more in Southern California. 😂 We also just had the Rams pay the price of their own stadium for the privilege to b in LA. Even with the Oakland teams gone we have the Rams, Chargers, Giants, Angels, Padres, Warriors, Lakers, Clippers, Kings (basketball), Sharks, Kings (hockey) & Ducks. The A’s & Raiders r dead weight, all this will do is produce more Giants & Niner fans in the long run which is probably good for the health of Bay Area sports. 13 teams in the big 4 North American sports is plenty.
