I’m 47 and I’ve been rocking a bold red lip lately (MAC Ruby woo matte) with no mascara and I love it. Also been pairing it with Dior cherry 🍒 blush. I think it looks classy and very chic. You look gorgeous ❤
I hardly ever wear mascara anymore. its so pretty just to have good skin, blush and a lip balm or bold lip. Red lip and no mascara feels so french! You look beautiful, so nice to see you back here ❤

Fresh! Love this look. I typically do not wear mascara, and I wear a red lip either a light wash of color with lip balm or or a blotted matte lipstick. Your haircut is punk rock! Love it!

That's such a brilliant idea to go mascara -ess and apply a tightline. Will definitely try it out! I hardly ever go without mascara for a natural look, but will try this as I do have a full mouth which would work.
I do this look almost every day... no mascara and love it!!! My eyes are always watery and without mascara I feel freeeeee!!!! I only curl them and add a little bit of Vaseline to moisten them ... I love this look and your hair cut is amazing too!!!!

My lashes are blonde so no mascara is tricky for me. But the tiniest bit of mid brown mascara on top lashes is a good compromise. I rub a clean spoolie over the mascara wand so I’m picking up the smallest amount and really just use it to tint them with a little colour rather than build volume or length.

This video is very timely for me! I'm the same age as you (1977 woot woot) and recently, for the first time ever, I applied a bit of brow pen, light base (just some Erborian Red Correct CC cream), under eye brightener and a touch of pink lip balm AND I decided not to wear mascara.Which felt like I was taking a big risk 😂 But you are so right, we usually feel like we need to focus more on our eyes as we get older...this makeup look is very pretty and looks so fresh - I would go so far as to say it makes you look even younger!

I love this look! Quite often I go mascara-less. I used to have super watery eyes which got me accustomed to it plus I wear glasses 90% of the time and it just doesn't feel like I need it. I also have a very beautiful Mum who always threw on a red lip to feel glam even if she hadn't put anything else on her face and she looked great.
Yesssss my mom has beautiful lips even at 84 she still has plump beautiful lips and she puts on a red lip and with the lipstick she flushes her cheeks and goes!!! Now I am doing the same but with my not so plump lips 👄 🤷🏻♀️😅

Hi Sam. Always such a pleasure to watch you. I've been mascara free for many years now and i use makeup on my eyes every single day. I only use mascara for evenings out. Two reasons: as I get older I'm lazier and as I got older, my hooded eye lids are even more hooded and since I have naturally long lashes, when I put mascara, they become really really long and curled and so they hide even more my lower lid. Looks so good 👌🏻 I can't get away with no mascara but I also don't like wearing lipstick, so I would totally do a very minimal amount of brown mascara brushed through really well and just lip gloss.
I learnt to wear not mascara with heavy lips from you, years ago on your 1st channel. Still do so n feel super modern with this look 😎

I often do a small wing with a dark brown pencil with no mascara for just basic day to day. But crepey around the corners/hooded eyes these days so I tend to do it almost horizontal and bypass the lid to an extent. I miss tight lining. I had really bad blepharitis many years back. The scar is pretty much hidden in the folds and I've not had it since but I've avoided anything directly on the waterline ever since. I do use eye pencil right on the lash line at times, but from above.

A few years back I NEVER would have considered going mascara free. But now I am in my fifties and I go mascara free most of the time. Weird how things change over the years 🤷🏼♀️🙄😜

Fabulous, its always edifying to see what lipstick can do! And no, I can not go without mascara because I have white hair and brows and I dissappear without it, but for a natural look, I use a Japanese brand that makes a lovely soft gray mascara.

I’ve really been in a I can’t be bothered makeup phase so this look is perfect. Lately I’ve just been using the CT glow tint stick, with a merit blush and their brow gel, both super nice, bronzer through my crease, just to push the fold back, and brown mascara but just on the tips, to give me a little something, and a lip. I could forgo mascara but I definitely feel a bit naked without some colour on cheeks and lips. 💋 incidentally I’ve decided that you look like the love child of Chrissy Hinde and Helena Christensen, if that were humanly possible! 😂 Gorgeous x

It’s just that I am blonde and my with or without mascara look is SOOO different. Literally could go without everything else but having mascara is a must. Looks amazing! I normally don’t wear red lip, cuz I’m blond/fair and blue eyed…which also means I have very pale lashes, so I usually go brown mascara for the “natural” look…but I may have to try tight lining with red lips…could be fun!

Often go mascaraless these days - after a busy day my eyes feel so much better and fresher! Apparently there’s a Clarins serum mascara that’s super natural and light … interested to try it.
So chic! Very Parisienne! I don’t think I could go without mascara, but I love a red lip and minimal makeup on the rest of the face, especially as I get older, I find less is more when it comes to eye and face makeup. So cool and effortless !
Hi, I stopped using mascara a few months ago…..I think that if you tightline your eyes that is sort of using mascara since your lashes look thicker that way….so I leave it at that….that is plus eyeshadow and eyeliner of course 😉
I haven't worn mascara regularly since I was about 18 (and I'm 32 now). I can't even really remember why I stopped to begin with, because several layers of waterproof mascara used to be my one "thing", but now whenever I try to wear it I find it so crusty, dry and heavy-looking, just "too MUCH". And that's with mascaras which technically work really well for holding a curl, lengthening and volumizing and all that... I love it on other people though, so I still buy a new one every now and then and give it another go, even though I kind of now I won't really like it after about 30 minutes of wear. 😅
Your look here is basically what I do whenever I leave the house (plus curling my lashes!), and it makes me feel so much better and more "me", so thank you so much for the inspiration! ❤👄

I wouldn’t skip mascara as I am a ginger so my natural lashes are too light to see. I will often use a Brown mascara in place of place like the original one from Sweed or YSL Lash Clash if I want a heavier lash look
I’ve gone back to no 7 lately their lift and protect foundation is fab !! I’ve got so many compliments on my skin ! Years since that happened and I’ve tried them all expensive and cheap . Also their cream bronzer is beautiful

I always love watching you, but this video, more than usual, I have taken SO many ideas. I love a red lip but am quite a casual person and struggle to wear it in summer here in Australia without feeling overdone. I’ll definitely be trying without mascara.
I go mascara-less all the time, but I am not a big makeup girl. I am just lazy and hate having to remove the mascara. I have started tight lining lately after following in an earlier video of yours. I am liking that look quite a bit.

Thank you for reminding me that tightlining exists. I go without mascara 90 % of the time and i do like it, but i often feel like i look more tired, when i see myself in pictures. Maybe the lining will give that little extra to make me look less dull😊. Very pretty look, Sam! A red lip will always be my weakness❤

I frequently leave off macara! I always do my eyebrows, but happily go without mascara. Totally agree, it adds a natural edge to things and I also sometimes just hate the feel of the heaviness on my eyes.

I love this look so much! I am a diehard mascara girl but tried going without it this morning with a relatively bold lip using what I had to hand - a love plummy burgundy red. True story, bumped into my mother who asked when I was going for my post mortem 🤣. I fear I am not chic enough to carry it off but will definitely scale back the mascara and switch to a brighter red ❤

I often wear no make up at all but then i cant be bothered with the faff, and it takes me so long to get mascara on. It makes me late. My desert island item would have to be lip balm and a tinted lip gloss. A colour close to my lip colour but better. My eyes are tiny and so are my lashes. I only put foundation, blush and mascara if my skin is having a good day because i have eczema so all products seem to irritate my skin or flake off anyway. Ive gotten better with my skin routine and i have less breakouts but its still super sensitive. Agree, bronzers always look too orangey. You look fabulous ofc.
