Looking for a more realistic Planet Coaster ride or Park? In this new series, we are taking Real-Up My Ride to the next level and building a park from scratch! Expect ultra realistic builds as we put together RAYGATE LAKE. Using realism I’ve learnt from my experience of working for a real-life theme park company and over 4000 hours of Planet Coaster play time. Using true-to-life principles, we walk through each stage of the build reasons why things are built in a certain way- as well as some top tips on how these were achieved too by pulling them apart for you to see. As the project progresses, I’ll release the park for you to enjoy, so please make sure you Subscribe to stay in touch!
For this episode, we start to plan out the whole entrance area and add detailing to the Tickets, Turn-styles and the Business Reception. We talk specifically about the facilities needed in an entrance area, the layout for them and delve into some back-stage info about offices, working space and special effects!
I've used so many TMTK items in this build.. and I would like to thank you all for the amazing things you design. I'm sorry I can't name you all individually because there are just so many of you, but thank you.

"you have to know when enough is enough, this is already 20,000 pieces".... he says before going on to build a largely unusable hotel of 200,000 pieces :D
I’ve been watching sooo many Planet Coaster vids of late and one of the things I love is when people try to create a sense of realism in their attractions and rides. Don’t get me wrong, I love the big bombastic attractions and the fantasy of the game but sometimes they just look so unrealistic it is less fun for me. I feel like at least the fundamentals should be grounded in realism? I guess it’s a personal taste thing. Anyways, I stumbled across your channel and while I’m probably a little late to the party, I can’t wait to see what you create throughout the series.
You seem to have thought of everything just in the entrance plaza and it is looking great so far. I love that you’ve even included the chip n pin machines. Very excited for the rest of the series.
Yeah it’s a little annoying I wish the rides were customizable with generic themes
I’m impressed with your interior work, I usually avoid doing interiors!
I used to, until I started.. then you never stop... it's a slippery slope lol
Dayum, that's looking good man! Love when people take realism as priority number one!
My friend, you are about to embark on a (currently) 23 episode journey of ridiculous levels of realism... Welcome aboard! :)
As someone who has struggled with a nervous stomach for forever: I LOVE the law about having a bin every so often. It's official, I'm moving lol
Oh my freaking god... You are amazing! I only just found you, this is the first vid I’ve watched and HOLY CROW!! Your sense for detail and hyper-realism is some of the best I’ve ever seen in PlanCo. This channel is a treasure trove for anyone who wants to build realistically. HOW do you only have 300+ subs??????? You can expect me to comment alot in the next few days, since I’ll be bingeing this series...
I'm glad to have you with us! I only started this in May while I was furloughed and so people are now only just finding me as RUclips starts to trust my content. I'd love to be more well known, but honestly, there are way more talented people out there who have fewer subs... :)
There are also lots of less talented people with way more subs. Imma be sharing your content with every PlanCo creator I know 👍
@@wowkir That's very true too! I'd love some of the bigger creators to share the love and pread the word, but sadly they can't do it for every-one and most of them don't use their platform for that purpose anyway.. So, for now, I'll create the content for those who are just happy to watch :)
So much detail ! Love it though man :) Looking forward to this series!
Thanks!! This was always meant to be the series that really helped to push the boundaries of what the game can do.. and now I'm under the wing of the Imaginers, I have the perfect resource to push me forward with it!
This is absolutely amazing, it's my favorite planco series so far, good job on all the small details
Blimey.. and it is only Episode 1! Let's revisit that after 30 eps :D
Nice! Really nice! Can't wait to episode 2... strike while the iron is hot!!
haha.. I think I know a RUclips video for that :D
Kara ficou top msm vdd mto bom parabéns
Once you are finished with this and get it uploaded you totally need to submit it to Channel5 gaming for a Park Spotlight, you are going to be a legend builder with them in no time and it will definitely get you a mass amount of followers
Absolutely!! I didn't think they would be interested because it is a mega park that "wastes" piece count and they hate that - but I've just watched their spotlight on Frozen Koasters and maybe I was wrong.... I might actually submit it :)
I have to say, you do great work. Really amazing. I was really wondering how long you practised until you reached this quality. I'm trying my best to build a park like this, but I just started playing planet coaster and I don't think you could build stuff like that from the beginning, I guess it takes a lot of time to be able to do realistic parks, it's like playing an instrument. No one can do this right from the start, or what do you say? Did you build parks like this when you started playing?
If no, how long did it take you to learn doing parks like this one?
It somehow demotivates me, as it looks as lot of work...
Ahh thanks!! It's funny you ask actually.. I have 2 videos I released a couple of weeks ago that show you parks over my Planet Coaster lifetime, so you can see what I was building at 100, 500, 1000 hours, right up to today at 7200.. There's a short version that just talks at you or a longer version that shows you around the parks.. hopefully that helps you?
@@Nerdchacho Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm even failing to build those "start"/"planning" buildings. I mean those you do when planning a park/plaza. Those who just look like squares, I mean. Hopefully you understand what I was talking about.
I don't get them accurate. Even if I put down grid to 1m, as you suggest in another video. And it always jumps back to 4m when I'm doing a new wall. I don't even quite get how you can do this so fast. I always have problems spinnig a wall when being in a building. But you can do so easily.
Maybe you can give a tutorial where you even build those planning buildings? In every tutorial video I have seen from you, they are already done and I don't even know how to do them...
Thanks a lot.
Now this was pretty much text again :) Sorry :(
But I'm getting demotivated as don't even THAT seems to look great.
The game will always default back to 4m grid / 4m height. Even when you've previously built with smaller ones in an existing building. You just need to adjust the sliders in the piece settings menu, like you did before. It's one of the frustrations of the game that we have in the sense that it doesn't persist with your last used grid / height settings, but it isn't insurmountable - there are more annoying persistent bugs in the game.
@@Nerdchacho Yes, for example, when trying to rotate an object in building mode, Z or Y or X won't do anything when pressing this. Why did they change it, when once it seemed to work fine???
It's truly kinda frustrating when trying to be good :(
You should create a custom Six Flags park and give it the Six Flags vibe and another thing give it a story before it turned into a Six Flags park
Lmao at all the space and then you have that throng of people trying to squeeze in and out of that one group of turnstiles on the coach side 27:54
haha!! I'd never noticed that before! The AI in the game can be so stupid sometimes :D
Honestly, as someone that currently works in Admissions in a theme park, that's far more accurate than you'd expect.
This is amazing.
Are you going to add this to the workshop when the series is completed?
You bet I am!! I'm going to share this one in phases too.. Probably after each 5 eps :)
@@Nerdchacho
Then I shall be downloading them as fast as they come out.
i build something on planco and i think it looks good then i see ur builds :/
It is all subjective though. Some-one will also look at your work and want to be like yours. I'm just a loser with far too much PlanCo playtime under my belt haha :D
I need to know how you keep from burning out. I have always had an issue with any game about playing and getting burned out for a few months then I hardly remember what I’m doing but this is absolutely insane. I can’t do anything 1/8th as good as you and I still can’t keep attention on a game for more than a few months
I've found a groove where I burn through a build early week, finish by Friday at the latest, have the weekend off and cycle through the weeks.. It is hard, I won't lie... Especially this part I'm in with the latest series... half way through is the hardest but the end is then in sight. Plus, if I didn't finish then there would be a few thousand people let down because they've invested 14 weeks watching it grow - so that sorta forces you over the line..
@@Nerdchacho I was just thinking about the pressure you’re in and how hard that must be. Absolutely insane what you pull off and as an enthusiast that strives to do things like make realistic parks and transfer tracks and smoother coasters etc. you’re a big inspiration. I’ve binged until around episode 5 or 6 in this series and you seem to have great frames and stuff through everything except auto save, what are your specs?
I've tried watching a few vids but your overuse of the word ACTUALLY is ridiculous. Hopefully you learn to find other words as the English language has many to choose. A better mic would also be suggested. In conclusion, hopefully your channel grows, awesome content, def credit to more than I've ever accomplished. Happy holidays, all the best for your future. I'll consider subscribing once you inform me & you address the grammer aspects! ✌👍🍻 Cheers
You'll be pleased to know that if you fast-forward 18 months you'll find that my mic is better, my over-use of the word Actually is replaces with So, my camera work improves if you consider looking at trees and walls good content, the episodes are shorter because I learnt how to waffle in a shorter space of time - but the parks are at least decent; so I guess it isn't all doom and gloom.
@@Nerdchacho You are more tolerant of arrogance that I am obviously. If it were me, I would tell Mr. "change your grammar and I'll subscribe" to stick his subscription in a place that sees no sunshine. I am very grateful for anyone who takes the time to be so meticulous, not only in his work, but in teaching others how and why to create realism in a theme park game. Unfortunately, one would need to have a high end PC to manage all the pieces this park will be using.
I get a little bothered when some people create parks and make the coasters way too insane like with ultra steep lift hills and stuff like that. I understand it’s a game though but that’s bothersome for me it kind of ruins the realism vibe that they go for
Totally agree! It shouldn't be labelled as "realistic" id it isn't.. That's why all of the coasters and water rides I have in the episodes that follow this use the metrics, design and specifications of real-life counterparts.. The game sometimes gives the impression of not being realistic, but at least the ride itself is grounded in realism.. :)
