Moomin if you’re “average” at this game then I’m the queen of England. This is a darn gorgeous build, and you explained everything wonderfully! Great video, as always!
Honestly I feel like the biggest thing you need to be 'good' at PlanCo is patience. I have never been able to finish a realistic park because I just don't have the patience to complete tedious placement of scenery objects. I know I am able to and have made some relatively good looking stuff but can never find the motivation to do scenery for more than an hour at a time.
Finally decided to get Planet Coaster. I wanted to see how it works so came here and this was the first video I've watched. Amazed at how much custom detail can be put into the parks and even more amazed how well you implement them. Beautiful build and as a complete newbie it was very well described. The icing on the cake for me though "Well firstly, try not to shout!" That had me in stitches and hitting subscribe shortly afterwards.
Oh my God! This is freakin’ amazing! Just started with this game and can’t imagine i’m going to be able building like this! Loved every single part of it!
I bought this game over a year ago, played it for about an hour and set it down. This video has helped me finally understand how to approach things in game. In the last week I've sunk over 10 hours in and am finally happy I'm able to feel like I'm getting value from the game.
I could watch you build all day with your calm vibe and music. Really inspiring, and thats coming from someone who struggles to get into building games :)
Theres never been a video that has inspired me to play planet coaster before, but you sir have done it! Great job on this, i love some of the smaller details like the ropes up on the roof of the queue cover.
This is all so true! I’m sending this video to my friend who was starting off on Planco and had trouble working on her first park. I told her pretty much all of this and it’s so validating to hear it from someone else
Great video! You should expand on this small park. Showing us how to take something that might be considered 'basic' and turning it into something great.
Something I struggle with not in this game but with basically just life to is trying to do much, while more knowing how to do anything. Your advice on starting small in planet coaster helped me a lot here so thank you.
Ngl this is such an important video for beginner players. scenery and queue design can be so intimidating but its important to remember you can be creative with ANYTHING! Encouraging new players to use roofs and doors for custom floors, barriers, fences etc. I wouldn't have though to explore like that if I was new. I still am a newbie but I've made so many custom building I am happy with in my 2 years of owning this game. I wanted to make a mega park, I had my inspiration but I lack the relevant experience when it comes to working with terrain and bringing my ideas to life.
Ive carried over minecraft building advice to this game as well. The last little bits of details can really make the build feel lived in, like the lighting and plants.
Moomin, you are definitely one of my favorite to watch. I like your funny commentary, how you explain what you're doing and what pieces you're using it puts the whole building process into perspective and makes building of my own a little less daunting
I remember longing for planet coaster when it came out. I went crazy when console edition came out. Now I have it on PS5, and finally, after 6 years, it’s finally my turn.
Your wisdom has been praised with this great build, I now have a greater understanding of the way i see objects to get more out of the box like what shows really helps a build. I sure will be using every bit of detail you have provided to help myself and if i ever can, i will pass this info down to others with full credit that i got this info from you. Thanks a bunch, much love to you mate keep up the great content.

Playing that game for 4 years now (started when i was 10) and i cant even build a shop. I watched so many Videos and stuff but i think this one was actually helpful. Thank you
Planet Coaster has been in my library for over a year now. I want to be creative so bought all the dlcs except ghost buster. But I can’t create anything beautiful and like you said, I was thinking too much to build like a big park even though I don’t even know quite well. But today, I decided to try it again and I searched up for a video. I’m really glad to see you video at the top. Keep up the good work❤
Just learned the most important rule I needed to know right now : hide everything you can from the PlanCo stuff. Simple, but soooo precious to remember. Thank you
This is insane and super inspiring. I'm a die hard RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 fan, and maybe I'm just set in my ways from playing that game for so long. Thank you for this video! Now I'm inclined to open this game again, and build food or drink stalls next to every ride like this.
It's a real shame that this game is so unnecessarily fiddly. Easy doesn't have to be simple, which is mantra the devs should be locked in a room and forced to chant ad nuasuem. Every time I'm inspired to fire the game up I find myself closing it back down pretty quickly, as a direct result of the crappy UI and design choices.
I'm in that boat right now. Coming from RCT 1 & 2, I keep getting turned off by the path tool in PC and the confusing menus. And while I'm trying to figure out why my paths aren't connecting my park goes bankrupt
@@AlecTrupsI can’t even properly navigate around the screen with my mouse. Idk if it’s cause I have a Mac but after using openrct2 I thought this wouldn’t be tooooo hard of a jump.
Exactly, what got me reinterested in planco is enjoying the same type of "grind" I hated in planco while playing prehistoric kingdom, but unfortunately the love for detailing in prehistoric kingdom came from a very well designed experience, and didn't transfer to planco once I actually booted it up
Wow, this is great. Was really depressed at my art skills and creativity, but this simplification of thought process and "how to get there" has me encouraged to try again.
i’ve really been wanting to get back into planet coaster, i stopped playing cus i feel like i’m not really succeeding in it when i play the story mode, but i’m glad i chose this video & looked how the little details can make it so much more than what it is, im gonna redownload it & back into it, thank you very much🙏🏻
This was amazing!!! My children purchased PC for me. I did one large park. It turned out great!! As a perfectionist I spent hours learning all I could about this game. Unfortunately it was so labor intensive it has been over a year I just stay away!!! I do love your videos!!!

I'm always making stuff always have been. i also love to learn music on my guitar or im watching a movie or youtube. and thats just in my spear time.
Wow man. This is actually helping me for my themed park project. I started following along and then started doing my own thing and I did struggle a bit but i never would have gotten so far without this video. I'm about to start the food shop area now.
I never thought of building the park parts like that, I always went for a master plan, than for small parts! I really loved your ideas and construction possibilities! ❤️❤️❤️
thank you for this detailed explanation, so far i have only found park management guides when i looked for starter tutorials while im mostly only interested in the creative/sandbox aspect of the game ive just started recently when PlanCo was on 90% sale and was quickly overwhelmed but i feel confident giving it another try :) one thing i struggle the most with is getting a proper entrance and the immediate area after that because i dont like how the road is just a straight line coming out of a mountain and if the entrance doesnt feel right I dont feel great going foward from there
If you're on PC, I highly recommend using the scenario editor to move the spawn point and get rid of that horrible hole in the terrain! Allows for much more flexibility in park layout.
i have to say, im just know starting to get into planco and i was looking at dome videos that have a little bit of guidance and omg, you did just that, im amazed how creative we can get with the game, and thank you fot give me my inspiration to start small and grow into a bigger park. definitely subscribing, and i really hope you expand the little example into an actual park of yours

First video of yours i watched and its absolutely amazing! Great job. I've got ideas but can't come up with a theme. Maybe ill go back and start small again and do more research. Thanks for the advice and inspiration!
This kinda makes me go back into planet coaster and start creating smaller parks like you said in the beginning of the video. I tried creating bigger parks with multiple themed areas, and although they are pretty decent in the beginning I always lose track of what I'm doing and then switch to different scenery losing the vibe of the one I was working on before. My adventure theme was fine as it was the first one, then the Roman theme started off pretty well but I got bored and started on western AND sci-fi in the next few weeks. Like you said, it's the task ahead that can get you demotivated to continue.
You are so talented and so funny…especially what you say at the very end lol. I’ve been watching a few planco YT ppl semi regularly and had PS4 console edition since the day it was released…I hope to one day finally be able to build like you do. Dude, you are on point. Give yourself some credit. Great stuff. Very creative. Just gonna open the ole mind up eh? Love it man. Very inspirational if I do say so myself.
the 'start small" thing is pretty much spot on. i usually give up during building of the entrance building. i fight the ui, fight the horrible placement of stuff, fight the enormous choice of stuff i can't put down.. it's all a bit too much so i end up with parks that look like how your first example look. i think i will just surrender to the fact i am a horrible diorama builder.
Bit of advice for entrance buildings: They don't have to wrap around the entrance entirely; you can get away with having the building on one side (I tend to include the information kiosk inside) and a decorative fountain or sculpture on the other side. If you do choose to arch the building over the entrance, ensure the path underneath is well lit. The entrance should echo the core theme of the entire park. If accuracy with placement is a struggle for you, I recommend using the 'snap to position' option to align free-place objects with grid-place objects. From there, you can select the free-place objects (hold shift while clicking) and press 'x' to move the pieces with advanced move controls.
Love what have done to explain to us newbies. Just started playing last week and used almost everything you explained in this video. One question though. How did you square off your entrance to the ride? It was rounded then square in a couple of seconds. I thought I missed something so I watched it another 8 times but still missed it. I know about the grid but had no success at it. The rest of the que is great. Pleade keep doing what you do for us average folks.
Thanks so much! It was just exactly what you mentioned. I start placing the path normally, then I select the last piece I placed as the grid reference and it'll continue square. Simple as that!
Your vid just got recommended to me cause I am just starting to mess around in Planet Coaster. My brain HURTS after seeing how dope you made that simple thing.
Plan co really is a great game for letting you get creative, it took a while for me to realise that you could put asset's down individually :D. Brilliant Video mate well done.
Came across you just, first video I watched and you reeled me in to the point I subscribed instantly, amazing video buddy. Keep up the good work and keep growing 💪👊
The other day i was watching a landscape architect talk about his sketching process. He says he prefers to sketch on small papers exactly because it gives him some sort of confinement/limit
I really enjoy your voice Moomin :) tips are really great! I think I knew this intuitively, but... sometimes you need someone to name things for you and show their own ways! Thanks!
On inspiration, what always helps me is I don’t do anything remotely entertaining for about an hour. It keeps me really bored and unhappy, but the creative juices just explode after that (Watch the Veritasium video on boredom if you want to have a reason why). The one time I kept myself bored for 2 hours, and came up with a park on an island, with a lake, with an island in the middle, pirate themed. It worked really well and is my best park to date!
I love it. Great video. I mainly use the game to build roller coaster I made paths and all that but I solely focus all my time on building smooth transitioning coasters! I suck at decorating
Iv just brought everything on the sale bundle and this video pops up in my main page on youtube... thank you for this.. im looking forward to jumping in and creating something special..
I have played a lot of this game. But have always found myself scared of the scenery tools. I just build coasters. but after this video I realised how stupid I have been! I gotta go make new parks now!! This video is perfect, thank you for all the tips!
This is awesome. Information is gold 👍. I’d love to be able to do it like this, but…. One problem, I’m too impatient lol. I think the first lesson should be, how to do everything faster! Getting used to the controls in this is a must, and knowing where all your hot keys are definitely is essential to not getting too frustrated. I do wish the parks could be a bit bigger though.
ive gotta admit ... i rarely sit here engrossed in a video like this, but i just did so lol Congrats moomin, and wonderful job ! a shame im 2 years late.
This is amazing. I'm an idiot. So seeing things put together and watching you explain things that I would never think of makes it so much more realistic and nice. I'm currently downloading the game and looking for guides when it finishes.
This just popped up at my yt, and for realism i have one big tip for you: 4m walls are almost always too big for realistic buildings, especially in themeparks. Love this game
I love this but my creativity is awful, I used to build either big parks with big gaps which were hard to fill in and went very basic with the environment atmosphere, I will definitely be using this video as inspiration for my new park! Thank you :)
Yeah, this definitely is the game for me. I've been playing Minecraft creatively for a decade now, and looking for some new games to jump in. Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster are looking amazing with endless creative possibilities. Hope performance is good with that many different small pieces together for just 1 ride? Luckily I got a decent PC, so we'll see. Gonna be a while until I have a large park anyways haha. Lovely build too!
Haha love the intro! Going to have to look more into that time lapse technology looks quite advanced bit hopefully should get my head around it🤣. Top video with helpful reminders to ground what I already understand 👍

Simple as that!
this guy deserves more subs. amazing video for such a small creator. big props!
Wow never knew you could do so much detail, nice job
Your vid just got recommended to me cause I am just starting to mess around in Planet Coaster. My brain HURTS after seeing how dope you made that simple thing.
Plan co really is a great game for letting you get creative, it took a while for me to realise that you could put asset's down individually :D.
Brilliant Video mate well done.
Came across you just, first video I watched and you reeled me in to the point I subscribed instantly, amazing video buddy. Keep up the good work and keep growing 💪👊
Thanks so much!
The other day i was watching a landscape architect talk about his sketching process. He says he prefers to sketch on small papers exactly because it gives him some sort of confinement/limit
That's very interesting!
Ooh very interesting method! Will definitely look into that!
This video help me so much. I never even thought of covering up paths 🤦♂
I love it. Great video. I mainly use the game to build roller coaster I made paths and all that but I solely focus all my time on building smooth transitioning coasters! I suck at decorating
Amazing video! so many things I had never even thought of doing and I have had the game since release too. Now I can't wait to get stuck in!
Absolutely gorgeous work! You´re narrating is very inspiring :). Lotta love, from The Netherlands
ive gotta admit ... i rarely sit here engrossed in a video like this, but i just did so lol
Congrats moomin, and wonderful job ! a shame im 2 years late.
This is amazing. I'm an idiot. So seeing things put together and watching you explain things that I would never think of makes it so much more realistic and nice.
I'm currently downloading the game and looking for guides when it finishes.
I guarantee you're not an idiot. But glad I could help! Have fun!
This just popped up at my yt, and for realism i have one big tip for you: 4m walls are almost always too big for realistic buildings, especially in themeparks. Love this game
Just started Planet Coaster and this video was very helpful, TY.
Thanks for making such a helpful video, you’ve helped me improve my skills in just 10 minutes.
I love this but my creativity is awful, I used to build either big parks with big gaps which were hard to fill in and went very basic with the environment atmosphere, I will definitely be using this video as inspiration for my new park! Thank you :)
wow... I just got this game and I didnt even realise you could do any of this stuff. Like my park looks ok but now I can make it look incredible.
Wow, extremely talented. I hope you use these skills in your working career. You’ve either got this talent or you haven’t.
this is really a art work to play this game , i had bought it and didn't start play yet and thank your video are good to learn from it..
my mind was blown when he used the shapes to size the rope spacing. i never knew that's what they were for hahaha
this is IMPRESSIVE. idk how people can be this creative.
Here's an idea: take breaks while you're building something in game, maybe after a phase of building it
Yeah, this definitely is the game for me.
Nicely done sir, always a good watch 👍🏻
This is really helpful dude, thank you!
Woah I had to subscribe after that ending ! GREAT video :D
Haha love the intro! Going to have to look more into that time lapse technology looks quite advanced bit hopefully should get my head around it🤣. Top video with helpful reminders to ground what I already understand 👍
Not all of us can master the art of time lapse. It takes time and dedication.
@@MoominLittlesocks 🤣 I don’t have the attention span to not get distracted and let my console go on standby!
What you showed before improving it is what “average” looks like. Don’t you dare call yourself “average” at Planet Coaster!
Nice work. Makes me wanna play Planet Coaster again, and try to be working as detailed as you. :D
stop being so humble...
you're amazing at this, good sir... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Coming from someone that's only been playing for about a week now... wow.. thats incredible
