Hi Candice, would you consider doing a video on how you handle your wardrobe with minimalism? Love your style and that you still include colors as a minimalist. Seriously there’s no other minimalist I’d rather here tips on clothing from!!!
Also her decor choices. I’m not really into white but she incorporates other colors and makes it beautiful. Most minimalists don’t really do that sadly.
I’m definitely keeping my dvd's. I love classic old movies and watch them all the time. They are difficult to find on streaming and if they are available, you have to purchase them. Why pay for them on streaming when I already own them? I love your don’t buy list, and I realized I don’t buy a lot of these things either, so thank you for making me feel like I am making progress! ❤ Connie
When I constantly decluttered my home, I also started to buy cleaning sprays and products, and yesterday it hit me how many of them I accumulated 🤦🏻♀️ that's such a hard work to say no to the impulse buying in any form it may happen. Also use soap for shaving and the body lotion for my toes 👍
Ever since I started watching you couple of years ago I have downsized my inventory by quite a lot. I am in no way a minimalist but decluttering is getting easier an easier and making more intentional purchases.
Candice!! I love your shirt!! You are literally my fashion icon!! I feel like in every video I tell you how much I love your shirt 😂 but I love your style!!
Impulse purchases have become known as the Diderot Effect. The Diderot Effect is obtaining a new possession that often creates a spiral of consumption, which leads you to acquire more new things. As a result, we end up buying things that our previous selves never needed to feel happy or fulfilled.
So many of us are guilty of this!!! And I have definitely been at times! Thanks for breaking this down! Such a great reminder to only buy what you have a use for!
I am a sucker for blankets, too!!! I am not buying them anymore either. My other vice is bags of any sort...backpacks, handbags, totes. Yeah, I need to go through these. I use only 3-4 of the ones I have.
We as a culture spend so much on personal care items believing they're going to live up to the hype. Thanks for being brutally honest about alot of that stuff, especially as someone who knows beauty products.
I got 1 color of the Color Pop eyeshadow, and I loved it!! The color was amazing (definitely popped) and stayed on my eyes great with no creasing, etc. I told myself not to buy anymore BBW candles, soap, fragrance, etc, as I am very well stocked up! I always buy a lot when they have their clearance. I happen to love Mrs Meyers too but only like the surface spray..which I have 3 right now. When I worked in an office I had so many lipsticks/gloss/lip balm. I am down to 1 lipstick now, 1 lip gloss, and use lip balm almost all the time now. Throws...oh gosh... I have an addiction, too. I agree with so much of what you said, Candice. Great video! And by the way....your face is always just perfect with your makeup and lipstick. You are very pretty.
I have mcs multiple chemical sensitivity so I avoid chemical cleaners I buy Seventh Generation. I don't use dryer sheets I use tennis balls. I stopped using nail polish after I heard you absorb those chemicals through your nails the polish and the remover. I don't buy the bottled water I use Brita filters or the generic option and will buy the large jugs of water to take to work or save for emergencies. I have a long list of things I am not buying this year as I have so many duplicates so nothing till I run out.
I just use soap to shave as well. So funny you are showing the huge case of dvd’s bc I was going through mine last night. I NEVER watch them but can’t seem to part with them ugh
I am using up all my candles, cleaning products and makeup/body products this year! I don't buy dryer sheets or dryer balls. I am working on my habit of buying sale items unless I know we will absolutely use it!
Great video! I also just use soap to shave. I do like dvds because my internet isn’t always the best. I keep telling myself not to buy them, but sometimes I’ll buy a $5 one. 😂 I just got a new throw blanket. I did not need it, but it was so soft and pretty. I do plan to downsize a different one! I’ve also been trying to use up the cleaning products that I have. You are very wise for a young person. It took me a lot more years to learn what you are already doing! Congratulations! 😊
We still have DVDs, although don't buy anymore, and commit to watching one or two a week when our favorite TV shows end for the season. When we are finished with them we donate them to our local senior living complex where they have a library of books and DVDs. When Makeup Geek was going out of sale I bought two empty palettes and filled them with my favorite mattes and shimmers. I got them for an incredible deal and I won't ever have to buy an eyeshadow palette again, they are amazing quality. One of our real problem areas is decluttering photographs - before everything was digital. We have albums and boxes full of family and travel photos. Any suggestions for a system - we tried to return a batch to my husband's brother of his kids and he was really insulted that we wouldn't want to hang on to them. I have no desire to scan them into the computer. Do I just throw them away? There are some we will keep of people who have gone, etc. but we have acres of photos. We have no kids and so far the next generation of nieces and nephews are not interested.
Blankets, candles, and lip sticks were some of my really bad areas too. I've pretty much quit except with candles I'm pretty much doing one or two at a time only.
Going on one year of decluttering. There are so many things I will not buy; expensive skin care(using it up) baggies Special detergent Travel items- I’ll decanter mine Clothing The list continues.
I’m with you girl! Lol. I was buying this “magic kitty spray” for any biological messes (I have a number of cats lol). I realized that it was mostly just expensive, glorified peroxide. Lol. It was magic in a bottle but it was also really pricy. So now I use that same squirt bottle and just fill with $1 peroxide. I also use a dollar store cheap large box of dishwasher powder and add a squirt of bleach in it. But peroxide tho. Pure magic and it is prob my number one go to for kitty mess management. 😅😅 Also peroxide is great for difficult laundry stains and odors. Similar also in many other areas. I don’t do candles much tho Bcuz it’s pretty much a fire hazard with my fur babies who climb and run and jump all over the place. 😅😅 Only kept a handful of CDs and DVDs. Just the super special ones and the few impossible ones I can’t find on Apple Music or with streaming.
I just found you, and I love your videos! I use jojoba oil or conditioner for shaving. A hair laser tech suggested that for the moisture! I also have a dvd case like that and my brain popped when (I think) I noticed you have yours in alphabetical order as well! 😄
Also, I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m in the messy middle and I’m choosing to slowly Declutter. These are so motivating! The more I do the better I feel. I love just having these types of videos to look up to and know it’ll get better and better!
I do still use plastic tupperware, I Darent get the glass, I'm clumsy!, I only have one lotion or showgel open at a time (still using up my hoard) I've never used shaving foam, just shower gel, I'm still buzzing from getting rid of all my cds and dvds!

I tried using dryer balls but I don't like them because they get stuck in the clothes and when my kids something out of the dryer then the dryer balls wouldn't make it back in the dryer and then our dogs find them and shred them. So I don't buy them anymore, and I have never liked dryer sheets which the only time I would use dryer sheets is when I would have to go to laundry mat to wash clothes and then I felt weird going there and not using them when you see everyone else using them. I don't buy CDs or DVDs anymore either ( I have even quit buying them for the kids) but my husband won't get rid of his CDs or DVDs even though we don't watch or listen to them at all but since he has his I left one DVD player in our house but it is the cabinet with my husbands DVDs. My oldest son has a set of CDs all because my mother in law bought him them for Christmas.
Hubby won’t get rid of the cds. I’m sorry I got rid of the small piece of furniture they were on bc now they are collecting dust under a bed. I despise having anything under beds!!! The only thing I’m sorry I decluttered by the way…lol
I bet the fashion industry wishes they didn’t have that fashion show years ago featuring bare legs because I don’t think very many people went back to wearing nylons. I don’t own any at all.
I use regular body lotion on my face as well. I’ve done this for many years. Usually lubriderm. My friend who is 65 and has beautiful skin has been using regular Jergens lotion on her face for decades LOL, she hardly has any wrinkles haha
I buy all my candles (including the bath and bodyworks autumn and holiday scents) on holiday sales too!! I also dont buy any surface cleaner anymore i make my own and also make eucalyptus or tea tree sprays for insect repellant! I also have a DVD/bluRay collection of my favorite movies and I also have a CD collection. We are old school 😉
Old school and okay with it!😊
Me too. I own loads of films on DVD & also programmes like Little House on The Prairie & The Waltons etc & there’s no way I’m throwing them away.
Tights are my go-to under pants when it is cold. They work well even if full of runs or snags.
Ohhh great idea!

Also use soap for shaving and the body lotion for my toes 👍
Coconut oil is the most amazing shaving cream. I’ve been doing that instead of buying shaving cream for years now, and it’s been amazing.
Ever since I started watching you couple of years ago I have downsized my inventory by quite a lot. I am in no way a minimalist but decluttering is getting easier an easier and making more intentional purchases.
Great video, I would love to see a list of items you DO purchase. Things that are worth your investment. 😀
That would be a fun video! Thanks for the idea!
Candice!! I love your shirt!! You are literally my fashion icon!! I feel like in every video I tell you how much I love your shirt 😂 but I love your style!!

I seriously agree 100%!!!!!!

Good shaving hack. Hair conditioner. It keeps my legs soft after
I love all your tips! Thank you for the inspiration

I buy the supermarkets brand if dishwasher tablets. They have salt & rinse aid included into one tablet.

It took me a while to break the "sale" habit as well!! We are working together on the candles and cleaning products!
We have very few cd 💿 and DVD s now- I decluttered most of them except for my husbands also! He said not yet;)

Thank you!!! TJ Maxx mostly, Old Navy and sometimes Target. Also THRIFT!
