Using the children’s artwork is a great backdrop to thank you notes. That or flip them over and write their thank you notes on the reverse. Their grandparents loved them.
As a mom of seven and grandmom of 23 (& counting) I love this advice! One can not possibly keep it all, BUT, grandma's are the PERFECT answer!! I love getting the drawings, but, no. I don't even keep all of them. Love this advice!
I think the getting would be the joy, not necessarily the keeping. Especially if they wrote a little note on the back. Particularly if grandparents live far away, this can be a great way of nurturing that relationship.
Grandma here, ❤ my grandchildren’s school has a art work shop I can purchase my grandchildren’s work on a magnet or mouse pad t-shirt or a mug. Evan book marks…I love the magnet’s.
I have been doing mine every month too after a life-changing 29-month declutter, and I get it back to what it was before and after the mega declutter, I always aim for one bin bag full but for some reason I always get 4.
I have a random basket that I put random things in. I go through it once or twice a month. It saves on mess everywhere. ❤Great video! The random lids we always find in the kitchen is comical 😂
I love this idea and exactly what I needed to hear to help with a bit of motivation 🙏 Thank you, from someone who no matter how hard she tries is still drowning in clutter!!!! 🙈😅
It has helped me to develop a thicker skin towards sentimental items. It will all end up in a landfill someday even if I donate it to a thrift shop today. I'm just getting a head start on moving useless items out of my house now, instead of waiting for a later date and feeling overwhelmed by my excess in the meantime.🤗
I love the Friend magazine cameo! ☺️ Funny thing, as I've been listening to your episodes I keep thinking "I wonder if she's a member of The Church". 😄
I have not decluttered my wardrobe in a long time because it's pretty clean and organized and pretty minimal. I have all the items I love and for a new one to make it into my wardrobe I have to really love it, so that doe snot happen very often.
Unpopular opinion coming up: As a grandmother, after a "good work" moment, I will quietly toss out "artwork" from my kids' kids. We don't want clutter either.
I have 9 grandkids, I keep some and toss some , the ones I keep , several of them I’ll punch them and put them in my planner ❤ they’re always happy when they spot them as I flip through my planner
I was going to say the same. Maybe send a few very rarely lol. My parents have so much clutter already bc they aren’t as mobile as they used to be and need to keep a lot sitting around easily accessible. They don’t need great grand kid clutter too lol although I do think they would appreciate it on occasion.
Great tips. The Friend magazine is great. Even tho I don’t have children, or teach in primary at the moment, I still subscribe to The Friend. The stories in there are amazing. I also get The Liahona mag & enjoy that too. I’ve saved several drawings etc that my niece & nephew made & have included them in my yearly memory books. Your dog is so cute. x
Good advice, except I wouldn't donate anything damaged or ruined. Charities spend millions of dollars disposing non usable items every year. Plus, others won't want damaged items either. Just my feelings 😊
Totally agree! Last summer I was helping collect items for a homeless family and people donated garbage! I had to just throw away-broken fishing poles, shoes with holes in them and broken toys! I thought are people too lazy to throw it away themselves?!
If you're referring to Candice's suggestion about donating the ripped towel, she said she was donating it to her dog, which I think is perfectly fine! 😄 Any vet or animal hospital or similar welcome ripped towels, linen, blankets... I agree with what you're saying about people donating ruined items to charity though, some people donate stuff like soiled mattresses, which is absolutely disgusting!
Take a picture of the kids art so it's digital on your phone. My 4 year old brings home the cutest art from preschool. I love it and put it on fridge for a few days, take a pic if i still love it then toss it in trash.
We do take pics but I never only want digital versions. I keep folders for the most special drawings. My kids love to draw, and for my 9 year old, for instance, it would be unacceptable (to her) to only have pictures of her best drawings to keep for when she is older. So we do a mix.

IMHO you shouldn't push your decluttering off on other people by giving them your trash. Have a box for each child's artwork and let them choose their favorites if you really can't do it.
I love getting mail! Even though I throw the letters away, it still brought me joy. I think cards to relatives arent sending "trash" even though that's exactly where it ends up. My .02

'Markdown" - what a great word to incorporate!
Dusting being "annoying" made me laugh - so true
You are always a breath of fresh air! Thanks!
Scan art work and store it on the computer, it's fun to go back and see it but not have to deal with storing it. Less inventory is my goal.

All very helpful! Would you share where your beautiful blouse is from? Thanks again!!
Thank you!!! TJ Maxx!
Your kids artwork is AMAZING. That is natural born talent. Toss it if you must but please always keep the art supplies well stocked.

I’ve been binging your videos in an effort to re-motivate myself for spring cleaning. Your ideas are always simple! 🙏
That makes me so happy!! I'm glad my videos are helpful!

I need this, I’m very random lol😂😂😂😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤ Great video as always!! You should have at least 1 M subscribers!! Your channel is amazing 😻
Honestly the book could be re-covered easily with a sheet of adhesive vinyl from hobby lobby 😊
I love your puppy stretching and yawning! So cute 💕 Have a beautiful day!

I love this...especially the intruders! There are one or two things I still don't know where it should go So it will be gone for good!
I love your blouse!
Thank you so much!

Some grandparents want the art work to keep. I was surprised by how many certain ones my grandparents kept
that's what I was thinking, but is ok, it doesn't mean you don't love them 😊
I'm telling 😂😂😂

This is fantastic! Exactly what I needed today!
I love the idea of using kids artwork for being pen pals with someone. If the child can’t write yet you can always let them dictate to you to write.
Great tips.

As a grandmother I love receiving kids Handmade pictures.

Thank you! I've been saying this for years, but millions of people just plug their ears.

Thank you for sharing . Good tips, thank you . Your top is extremely pretty and suits you beautifully. 🇬🇧👍🏻💛🤍
Wow thank you!
Cute top 😍
What is the name of the book that the dog messed up and where can I find it?
Love the bag idea!
You can also take a picture to remember them and toss them.
I scan in my kids art work and keep on a external hard drive
Very bright video.
I loved this video. Very helpful!!
Great tips! 💕
Please don't tell people to donate ruined items. The charity can't sell them and they'll have to pay to have the trash company take them away.

@@rowenalee1684 yes I donate stuff to my pets on the regular lol😂😂😂😂
Do you have an audio book
Thanks
cats do not chew books/ found the dishwasher recipe

We have a box and also make folders with the very special artwork of each child.
I do agree with you even though I would not call it trash lol
@@surlespasdondine LOL sorry I didn't mean to imply that it's *objectively* trash, that it's something you're trying to get rid of.

Are you on Facebook ?
