I am and I am from the 50, 60 and 70dys and I play Bass, I really love this type of music. Cory Henry did an awesome job on Marvin Gaye's What's Going On INDEED.
The sound engineers on this project are JUST as important as the musicians and vocalists. Big ups to all of the sound engineers out there who are like an extension of us musicians’ passion-the pulse that pumps our blood through the audience.
Amen. Whoever mic’d those drums and mixed everything down needs a pay rise. The reverb on vocals, keys, guitar, drums and bass are all different. Perfect balance. Nice bottom end on the vocals, still kept the vocals out front, while still sharing the 10k-20k hertz.
Now I understand when the older generation talked about music with feeling... Everytime I watch this I get chills.... The musicianship is just incredible and Corey is just such a genius...
"I don't want to be another hashtag, I don't wanna die" Man that line was written by the knee of Kaepernick and the Voice of Malcolm and the soul of MLK
It was made also by the 400 years of schizophrenic nature thrust upon our people through the poignant pen of Marvin Gaye. Blessings and safety Black Sons!
There are those who play music because they can...... and those who feel music because of their passion. There’s not one person on Cory’s team that wasn’t feeling this as much as he was, and it shows. Hands down the best performance I have seen
That's a must for him, interviews and auditions and even just conversations with people who mention that they play something he'll ask how does playing make you feel.
Who's watching this in 2024??? I remember growing up watching Tonex sing in church... he took it hard when his father died... Pastor A.C... Tonex was always misunderstand but stood strong in what he believed in...
Audience, put your phone down...hearrrrrrrr, feeeeeeeeeel this in the here and now. Powerfull then and surely now. Br Slade, you are a rare gem....much love, you are loved😊

That's the struggle. He can always come home. I know several traveling musicians who make sure they are back at home so they can be in church Sunday morning. Besides I have yet to hear him play a song that promoted anything negative.
I LOVE, LOVE the guy's face behind B Slade at 10:30. You can tell that he loves and appreciates music. It's beautiful. All God's children are beautiful!
So here it is 2 years later, I'm working with RUclips videos playing in moderately low volume and I feel something, I look up and hear B Slade's goosebump producing vocal range. My work stops for a few minutes to acknowledge once again... I don't think some of the audience realize the greatness of what they just heard.
And they left it all right there in the air. I cannot imagine ever reproducing what I just heard.... Amen to the original, but I can only hear "...Right Now...!"
Opened up RUclips and saw this link and immediately clicked on it. 14 minutes later I'm trying to remember what I originally got on RUclips to search for. Smh. Cory Henry, B. Slade and the band sang about murder while they absolutely murdered this. Straight 🔥
this crowd had either a drink or a phone in hand and had no clue what they had just witnessed. i'm over here welling up in tears with chills and i'm on my laptop. what a shame smh how did they not feel this !
Jeses Christ, please Lord, save these artists, save this Holy music, save we all in the world. Ohhhh Cory, ohhh Cory! Genius like Mozart, chopin and the historic founders of the music!
Mannnn.... Never heard Henry sing. Also never heard the original song. I had to listen to the original song. This one takes the CAKE! The music, the voices (of course B-Slade), the feeling - IS JUST RIGHT. I'm constantly hitting replay on this joint!
I watch this at least once a week. The vibe, the artistry, the genius that is Corey Henry. Lawwwwwwwd have mercy. He's anointed for sure. And his band. Hallelujah. This is by far one of the best live performances ever. B. Slade. I fell on the floor! This whole performance was soul. Enlightenment. Spiritual. Real. Transformative. Errrrrbody was on! Wow! We went to church!
watching again in 2024 and it still feels like I never heard it. I feel the nostalgia listening and remembering when and how I first listened and watched this clip. much love Cory.
Was it just me or many of the audience seemed board? How could you not go crazy dancing up and down with the amazing vibes these Extraordinary musician did there Holy cow absolutely fantastic
Not everyone feels music the same way. Stop judging people. If I were there I'd be feeling it too but that doesn't mean I have to jump and slap people in the face and take attention away from the music.
@@relativelybasic you don’t have to jump up and down to be into it but you sound like those lame fucks who show up and stand still and give 0 audience output
They cant really hear them during live, only thru amps and such that's why it wasnt as hyped. You can even see Cory Henry signaling the tech to turn him up on the house. They do this so that the tech can get a really good signal without too much bleed from the microphones
I got no words to describe how blissful this is, how it makes me wanna cry from sadness to joy and hope. The power of music is incredible, and Cory is a living legend, our kids will know his name and cry tears of joy to his songs

Cory Henry is one of the best musicians of our generation.

of any generation, truly
The best keyboard player for sure

Cory: yes
I love it when keyboard players use five different scales in one line lol

Inner City Blues - Marvin Gaye
BlackBlood - B. Slade
State of the world - Janet Jackson
the aux keys got some mad technique on those wheels! Such fine workmanship!

The best snare sound 😍
