He's off the charts!
Facts ...
*Impossible* to forget.
What a groovy drummer. At the 1st bar we can say that he's great.
That groove is so nasty yo!!!!
soooooooooooo nasty. staank face. it's a strangely powerful affirmation of Cory Henry's genius and gospel/funk tradition AND of the brilliance of the original Bee Gees song
Thank God these "kids" are keepin funk alive. This is tight and right! Keep on keepin on! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
These guys are fire 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely brilliant!! Drumming, perfectly synchronized... 🇮🇳
Lockett in the pocket! Damn, that's an awesome groove.
Funky!! Didnt Corey henry could sing too 🔥🔥🔥
This is actually a really good cover, great work guys
Worth a listen everyday...ya gotta eat dontcha?💯🔥
Nice arrangement
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@0:14, Cory says something to the effect of "you need to pick it up ".....drummer automatically picks up the pace
Cover of a Beegees song :-)
Everything was jamming until the #####Commercial @6:00
why aint sharay reed on the video description as bass player?
With all the new technology you still cannot beat the sound of the Hammond B-3 Keyboard and the Leslie rotating speaker. Thy have an amazing unbeatable sound and these guys do ir right. Absolute perfection, The girls harmony is right on . The groove is smooth. I could listen to this jam all night long. Thanks for the great music and amazing funky groove. Wish there were more bands like this to go out and listen to live. Thanks 1000 times. Made my night.
100%! Nothing beats a B3 and nothing ever will
Who's here for Sharay Reed?!
The world is a good place. I almost forgot. Thanks.
Yessss
Die Welt ist ein Scheisshaus.
@@hanswurst-lp6fk Well, yeah, mostly. But a very well-maintained, clean one.
@@hanswurst-lp6fk Actually, I checked again. You're right. This planet is pure fucking garbage. Let the fucking thing burn.
No it isn’t ….coz these guys are not mainstream artists….
Yes, I am listening to this in times of the coronavirus!!.!
Me too 👏👏😂
Hear! Had the chance to see them live in Java Jazz 2020 just before the lockdown too! Yes we went to Corys church! Halleluuuu!!

@@louiseleite3866 Rofl!!!
Sad that this kind of music isn't mainstream, cause this is raw talent, pure beauty.
screw mainstream it makes us feel incredible that's all that matters
Its mainstream in my crib

Curto ele e para martini x Stanley clarck
Thanks to gigs like RUclips it has a way bigger audience that before. Nearly 2 million views?
Those backup singers are amazing, awesome job girls 👍👍
It's so good to hear something "clean" and "groovy" without a bunch of spit notes trying to sound cool. THIS IS WHAT I CALL GOOD MUSIC.
Muitoooooo legal os caras são feras uauuu ameiiii muitoo bom amoooooooooo
it is great music
anyone listening at this music in times of coronavirus?
haha yes!
most definitely
☝
Ouvindo um pouco de funk soul aqui em São Paulo Brazil para espantar as mas notícias do Corona vírus .56 mortos aqui no país.
Shure do, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sharay reed is on fire on the bass 🔥
thanks for the name
So damn funky...funk hits so hard it left a bruise.
What a beautiful solid drummer !!
Are you kidding me? That bassist is a beast...and he's not even listed in the credits? Sacrilege!
did you find his name?
@Matheus Molin thanks !
Sharay is very famous, bro. 🙌
Yes, exactly what I thought. He is so groovy and in the pocket!
Sharay Reed - a young legend on bass!!
Incredible! This young man is talent personified! I’m in my late 60’s and this arrangements kicks new life into an iconic song that was one of favorites from back in my day! Well done, can’t wait to hear more!
Yeah! Great groove!

This groove is a Masterpiece 👌
I'm 75, had to dance
Man...this brotha takes you to "church" with this arrangement. Can I get a witness?? 😄 He was definitely influence by Gospel music. This is incredible!!! Umph....hand clapping😁👏👏👏...feet stomping.
I think he grew up playing keyboard in church from age of 3
He most definitely did…church from a very young age.
Damn that's what we missin these days! Real funk!!! Y'all killed it!!!👍👍👍👍
kenny ‘Real funk’ while talking about disco lol. The only reason you’re missing good funky music is because you’re not looking.
@@JoeMM5 lol.. Ok joe👍
Disco? 👍 not this version!
Oh the funkscene is alive and well, just google for the best funk albums of 2019, go to Spotify and blast your speakers!
There is so much great stuff made today!
Start with the „New Mastersounds“ for example, they are a great entry to modern funk!
@@JoeMM5 Stayin’ Alive is a funk song lol. It’s clearly derivative of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, and the only reason it’s called disco is cause it came out in 1977.
As a Bee Gees fan this sounds great those girls are soulful wow 👏
So nice! Never cared for this song before. Now I love it... at least YOUR version! Thank you Corey Henry and the Funk Apostles!
ImagineTV Barry told they wrote Stayin'' Alive r & b but producer Arif Mardin turned it to disco. Which was a very smart move as we can see now.
That snare is the s$&&!!
The entire band and must I say those two female vocalist are lit 🔥🔥🔥
I got to give a big shout out to the drummer and the bass!!! All these guys and singers are absolutely phenomenal and real real Funky too!!!
The "bottom" of this band, bass and drums, is just.....tight. And no credits.....wtf?
@@kingaclubs69 Bass - Sharay Reed
Cory you took me to another place, and I'm floating in a place of peace. I'm grooving. sj
Bass Player is Sharay Reed
He sounds like one of the Titans, shaking the roots of the Earth with deep, deep, enormous vibrations
hybass q
fantastic groove
delicious!!
hybass-One of the finest in the world
Why did you leave out Sharay Reed? A true and awesome bass player!
Good question
Bass players never the love they deserve and that’s sad
@@nicholasandres6705 tru-dat
Y'all check the description.
Sharay just can't fail to deliver the best grooves on earth
Why is name isn't in the description 🥺🤯? Sad...😭
@@eliternity had the same question. Dude is a rock.
Bassman has some of the fattest grooves your going to squeeze out of a bass! Simply amazing. Sounds like he's palm muting them strings but doesn't appear to be. Killer tone!!1
Taron Lockett and Tiffany Stevenson they deserve a big platform
Sexiest Bee-Gees-Cover ever!!!
More like a re-imagining of it...stellar!
I know right!!
Not just the best jazz keyboarder worldwide, also a freaking awesome soul singer 😮👏👏👏
He is amazing but Jesus Molina is also great!
Achenar Myst sorry, but that’s not the olympics... there is no „best jazz keyboarder worldwide”. chick corea, jacky terrasson, brad mehldau, keith jarrett, herbie hancock, joe zawinul, mccoy tyner: just to name a FEW. these are or have been fantastic jazz pianists and keyboarders. who should be the second best worldwide? third? besides that, cory henry is more on the phunky side of things... which doesn’t mean that’s worse. but put it for instance against herbie hancocks impressiv lifework and you will find there is still quite a difference...
Isto sim é Groove ameiiiii The Best

Those ladies sound awesome. They are projecting those voices perfectly. They sing like angels
One of the best live performing groups out there. Cory is and excellent musician ,vocalist and arranger.
Because they are!
@@jamesvaughn1715 No surprise there. Cory is an excellent and very experienced musician. And he has, as he should, amassed a number of equally excellent and experienced musicians around him. All perfectly executed.
I can watch again and again, love Tiffany, hope see her in her own project ❤️🌹
@@kylewilliams6090 O Cory é muitoo bom cara amei sou do Brasil e já assisti este vídeo umas 200 vezes tenho 74 anos mas jovem de ideias AMEIIIIII😍
Errrrrrm, how can you put the line up in the description and not include the monster bass player??? He’s the cherry on top of the funk cake. Amazing bass line.
3:14 even the cameraman is feeling it
Izzy Rees Hahahahah i laughed so hard at that😂 thanks for the observation.
Yeah, hahahahahaha!!!!
Love the way they remade this song. Awesome originality!
Saw them live twice, monster musicians!! The groove fills your soul
The girl singers were pretty stunning in person, their stage presence reminded me of girl groups with soul. Pearl Street, Northampton, Massachusetts
As a drummer I can feel that Jam arrangement to my bones! Gosh this drummer is lucky! 🥴
THAT BASS!!!😩
My life improved hearing this... simply magical. Thank you for sharing this treasure of a performance!
U. Welcome
Even the Cameraman is vibing with the zoom. He couldn't help himself, he got infected with that groove.Lolz
I say exactly the same words that Donald Thompson said : "I'm glad to see funky music stand throughout generations of talent" (all is said)
What an amazing performance. I don't listen to covers but this is a different level. That Moog kills it. The girls on vocals, wow. Cory and the band tight as ever.
03:15 Camerman seems to be a musician ;)
He is haha. He took the camera back in the next "ha ha ha ha" lol
That funk guitar is NAWSTY! 🤘🔥
The funk will prevail. 🙌✨
Sharay Reed is insane on the bass!!!! 😲🔥🔥🔥
The drummer isn’t even breaking a sweat he’s so chill back there!
Mano os caras conseguiram melhorar o que já era Bom! Top!
Superbe
"Funk Apostles" when I saw that I already knew I was going to like this.
Could this be any more funky? All awesome!! Those build up chords by the player on the Phrophet synth - so subtle at the end of the first run up to drop that fourth chord then bring it in again for the next. Goosebumps.
Yeah, agreed!! Nick Semrad on the Prophet is sooo good.. love those chords!!
@ken klaver please include "Sharay Reed - Bass" in the personnel/ video info description. It is a glaring omission given the level of groove Sharay is laying down!
I grew up jammin funk since a child on percussions and funk flute later on stages at Birdland with friends like guitarist of Teena Marie and helping produce LB Jazz Fest and Carnival and I could so jam on this groove🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
This is insanely cool 😎
The groove is killer
Really Nice cover of this song.. The Bassist is kickin it.. The drums and Guitar are sweet too.
The girls in the Amen corner...,teach on that!
LADIES HANDLIN' THEIR BUSINESS
A perfect example of brilliant musicians coming together and blowing the original out of the water !!!!!
Really amazing! The best cover version to this song, indeed.
I’m going through divorce. This is my song!!! Staying alive in the best version I ever heard
That sucks. But no one asked
All the best! It is a great rendition of the song a 'once in a lifetime' job indeed. It would surely help me to keep my head up in such a situation!
Girls kinda steal
the show here!
Outstanding Keyboard solo 🙏🙏🙏
Wow, what a beautiful sound range....I love what I am hearing....I share with friends what I love....This I love:-)))
The groove in the solopart OMG, so nice and yes listening in Corona time
Anyone know what that WICKED string pad is around 5:40..??? Absolutely love that..!!!
Me wanna know that too 🎛️❤️🔥
Deep deep pocket
Barry Gibb and his brothers would be so proud 9f the way this band put funk and groove together to make another masterpiece of music. Thank you.
Exactly!!!
Just wonderful! May the Funk be with you! ❤💫
holy shit sharay reed's groove feeling is from another dimension
Awesome Reprise. Great Band. One voice missing; uncle 'Phil Perry'.
Blackness! Hold it down sisters. I love to see Cory dancing around that organ. Awesome!!!!!
the Keyboard player on the synth is simply fantastic!!!!!
He is nick Semrad, you can see more here: ruclips.net/video/8TwhLplrFNo/видео.html
Taron Lockett and Sharay Reed building a groove so deep you can swim in it. Soooo gooood…
Seriously why are brothas and Stewart Copeland the only guys that can play 1/4 notes on hi-hats? Take note ladies.
I'm hearing 8th notes.... which part?
I think he got so into the groove he forgot he was meant to be playing the keyboard 🎹 😏😏😏
wow..! A very jazzy and soul version of the very white Bee Gees disco song.....love the groove infusion here.
Ah, ah, ah, aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So funking good! I'm all funked up now!
there is still amazing music...pure fun to watch and listen!
Excellent rendition of a song which I used to consider rather silly and pointless (check out the original's video and you will agree with me). But it's somehow weird to hear two young girls sing the line "You can tell from the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man", isn't it?
No - I don’t agree with you! The original is equally awesome and still massively popular over forty years later. Hence this tribute.
Amazing rendition, you can almost feel the extasy of the band ...
CORY HENRY IS A GENIUS
Effing awesome ! Cory Henry just gets better & better......
They set a groove deeper than the Mariana Trench.
The rare case of a version being better than the original ♡
Hmm, I love this version, but better than the original? The original is pure 🔥 They are just different feels.
Should be the opening act on huge tours with Tedeschi Trucks Band, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Sting, George Clinton, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, major label artists like that.
10:44 , sublime Sharay 🔥🔥
He reminds me of the 'COOL' that was Marvin Gaye
I agree with this.
I totally agree!
Arghh! That bassist! 💪💪
