I believe in the importance of having the correct menswear and I finally found the perfect place for tips and recommendations. I wear suits almost every day of the week and I have been doing it all wrong. As a big person, it is hard finding good fitting clothing and the proper way to wear them. Really enjoyed the video.
I’m on the edge of Big and Tall for most places (40-ish waist and 50-ish chest).
I really think Made to Measure can’t be beaten on a budget.
I didn’t own a single suit before I started working at Jos A Bank and now I have 3 MTM suits and a sport coat and I absolutely love them.
I haven’t tried Bespoke just cause I’m a college student on a budget (and I’m trying to lose some weight) but the difference is incredible compared to off the rack.

Been waiting a long time for this video from GG!! I find that Eagle is a shirt brand that makes affordable shirts with good fabric and construction. When going OTR, I have a size 17.5 neck and fit best into size 37 sleeves. Not only is this a ridiculously difficult combination to find, the brands who do make them often don’t consider who will be wearing them, and often use polyester blends. Eagle is much more reasonable, maintaining decent quality at a step down in price from Nordstrom and Brooks Brothers (also I’ve yet to find a BB shirt that fits me personally as well as my Eagle ocbd)

Kyle! You are great and I appreciate your retail experience very much! As much as I would like to go MTM or Bespoke, most of the time that is out of my budget. I've recently dived into vintage and have found some amazing pieces that fit and drape great! Finding good vintage pieces can easily turn into a time and energy-consuming obsession, though. You feel like you constantly have to check to make sure that you aren't missing out on the next great catch.
That is why RTW retail is the best bet when you just need something.
I often experience these frustrations that you mention in the video, also! I have a bit of belly and a wide chest (just naturally, not so much muscle, I'm afraid) and this makes getting shirts and jackets a real pain. Especially given modern cuts. When it comes to trousers I'd also prefer higher wastes and pleats but that is also hard to find. (Raphael was a big inspiration regarding that)
    Anyway...
One thing that I have noticed on some of my jackets, that seems to be happening on yours too, is that strange triangular break that occurs about 1\2 to 2\3 into the length of the lapel. (Most visible from the side, when the jacket is buttoned, of course). I actually had that problem on also on an MTM blazer at my fitting. But they retailored it and fixed it.
So, I was wondering, is that a defect that can regularly be fixed by an alterations tailor?
    Thank you!
(Oh, and Preston, you got me bitten by the boater hat bug)

I agree so much with the sleeve length. That one of my biggest issues with most sized shirts, that the arm lengths are just way too short for my gorilla arms, or the shoulders just need a little more room for comfort that modern cut clothing designed for people who weigh 170Ibs with normal length arms don't necessary suffer from, so you going to be stuck with either a long fit that makes your torso look really long, or sleeves really too short.

I'm 6' 4" 230lb 38" waist 46" chest and I really find it depends on the retailer as to there take or there suppliers take on these measurements and how they fit.... as some manufactures seem to make a ample 44" chest that fits and then at the other extreme others have there 48" that fits like 46" chest.... or would that be a 48" fitting like a 44" Chest.....

As a 6'6, 19 years old I may be tall. but not big. A huge problem. I weigh only 154lbs (probably more now) and I am quite lean. I usually buy shoes online on Zalando because they have 13.5 UK shoe sizes. Otherwise, my pants I order them tailor made as well. Oh and my shirts and usually fine, depends for the brand but the question for me is they need to be long enough and not too large. I can jump for L to XL. Again, depends on the brand.
