To do a Tim tam slam
You need to make a cup of tea or coffee, I prefer tea.
Take a Tim tam and take a small bite out of each end, then hold one end of the Tim tam in your tea and suck it like a straw. Be quick though and put that in your mouth and enjoy for the gooey goodness.
Seriously guys you need to try this

the pizza shapes have dropped in quality over the decades, there used to be so much seasoning on them that your fingers would be coated in it after a few minutes.. its a controversial topic in australia lol ,, inflation always ruins classic products.. its the same with timtams they used to be bigger and better with very thick coatings of real chocolate but these days they have shrunk and have a thin layer of chocolate and the manufacturers are relying on increasing the amount of sugar in them more than the amount of quality base ingredients they once had

    • @mickybaus6848
      @mickybaus6848 Год назад +13

That's because Arnotts who make Tim Tams and Shapes was bought by Campbell soups many years ago. After that the quality dropped. All the new flavours of Tim Tam's are disgustingly sweet. It takes away from actual flavour, and is done because sugar is really cheap. They have since been on sold to another multinational but things haven't improved.
Red Rock Deli are excellent because they're Australian and very much favour quality and flavour above cheapness.

Well said. Tim Tams are no longer enjoyable. Over the top sweet and not much other flavour. It's a shame younger generations won't know how much better things were. If it's not the sugar overload, it's the msg 'flavour enhancers' in most savoury snacks these days

Milo is worth a definite try. Kinda chocolatey but with a little bit of malt funk.
Chicken crimpy shapes are the best.
I saw that chicken salt cameo; have you tried it on your chips (aka steak fries) just yet?
And of course, vegemite. Be sure to do it properly; on toast, with a ton of butter, and a little scraping of vegemite. I'm not a big fan of it, but far from vehemently opposed like the folks who scarf spoons of it for RUclips reactions. :P

If you’re going to try Vegemite prepare it correctly. Toast or toasted bread, butter or margarine, the thinnest amount of Vegemite possible (generally you spread it then scrape off the excess and put it back around the edge inside the Vegemite jar for next time) then place over it a slice of cheese and grill. Alternatively you can cut up strips of cheese which makes what I know to be called tiger toast.

There are a couple of non-negotiable rules that need to be followed: 1/ only use real butter 2/ toast has to be hot 3/ spread the smallest amount possible even though it won’t look right barely there is all you want 😉

U just need to know how to eat vegemite. I swear most Americans would like it if they were given it how most Australians eat it. The smallest amount spread over heaps of butter on toast.

Worked in a lot of supermarkets and the bbq shapes would outsell every one of those items by at least 4 to 1 , or possibly even sell more boxes of those per week than every other item combined that you guys tried

Gotta have the TimTams with a hot cuppa, or maybe a coffee if you prefer 😊 Hot choc + TimTams is also a fantastic combo. If you have them with a hot beverage they just melt and it's such a different experience. TimTam Slam is iconic, but it can take a bit to get the hang of, cause they melt real fast once hot liquid permeates the bickie, so don't be disheartened if you don't get it at first.
Glad you fellas seemed to have such an enjoyable experience! It's always heart-warming when folks from overseas get to enjoy our treats.
Also, if you get the chance, try the Smokey BBQ Pulled Pork Red Rock Deli crackers, highly recommend 👀

I would argue that Chicken Crimpy are the best Shapes flavour. It's an orange packet, and the flavour is a really strong chicken salt flavour. They're super addictive. I never really liked Pizza or BBQ flavours of Shapes. I also think the Deluxe Tim Tams are a bit average. You're better off with the original flavours. Choc, Double Coat, etc. Double coat would have been better than the Raspberry or Mint. Those two flavours are a bit random and definitely not what the majority of us have. But it was great to see you guys trying a bunch of stuff. That Gaytime popcorn is awesome. I have to avoid it at the shop because I know I'll buy like 10 packets.

If you like caramel, you'd probably love Caramel Crowns. Definitely one of my favorites!
Lemon Crisps are my favorite thing to introduce Americans to, lol. They're so different from anything else, but actually pretty good. The Vegemite and Cheese shapes are amazing and a good introduction to Vegemite, too.

In Australia we have very high food standards. There is literally almost something for everyone's tastebuds here.
The first thing you opened is classed as a flavoured cracker here. They are different because they were brought out to have with cheese on.
The second one we call chips.
The third one - This we either call a biscuit or a cookie. Just depends on the company that brought them out. I LOVE those Byron Bay Cookies.
The 4th - I like BBQ Shapes the best. But there are more flavours than these 2.
And with the Tim Tams, well what can I say - Yum. You should try what we call a Tim Tam Slam. Best done with Coffee. I do it with the unflavoured Tim Tams. You get your Coffee, bite diagonal corners of the Tim Tam off. Dip one corner in the coffee & suck the coffee through the Tim Tam. Put the whole thing in your mouth before it falls apart - Yum.
6th the Golden Gaytime popcorn. In Australia Golden Gaytimes are an Icecream on a stick. But they started making Snacks from some of the icecreams.
Glad you enjoyed the Australian Snacks
