This scene is so well done. The amazement upon seeing an Ape speak immediately turns to sheer panic as soon as Caesar and the rest of the apes start screeching and advancing on them. It goes from "okay we're going" to "AH GOD WTF RUN FOR YOUR LIVES" as quickly as it likely would if this had actually happened in the real world. No time to stop and savor the wonder, it turns to chaos in an instant.

He was the worst character. ‘I shot him, I shot him’ saying it like he did a great and brave thing. He was the embodiment of the reason why apes would struggle to trust humans. This wasn’t even the only time he messed up in the movie. He is weak. Don’t ever be this guy.

He was Human Koba. Paranoid, and beyond reason. Both started a fight for those exact reasons.
Carver was a despicable character, even worse than Koba.
