Finally got 100% only after getting like 5 imaging studies done to show a fracture on my spine and months of therapy. Still noticed how these VA raters can overlook/misunderstand/misrepresent important details like writing that my physical therapy eval was done virtually (it definitely wasn't and nowhere in my records does it say that..I know, I was there) so it was given less weight than the C&P examiner. Not true. You qualify. You can qualify for SMC-S, in one of two ways. Re-watch this video at 1:08. You fall under scenario 1. Note that the last word in scenario 1 ends with "OR". So you can qualify with either scenario 1 OR 2. You don't need to be housebound. I'd call the VA up and request it (SMC-S), personally. You and I have a similar scenarios. I have recently applied for TDIU with my 40% rating only and holding out the remainder of my ratings, primarily the 70% rating to get me to SMC-S. My VSO said that I was ineligible because I am going the TDIU route. He said that ONLY schedular 100% ratings + 60% or over is eligible for SMC-S. I didn't agree, but thanks for confirming.
@@joseochoa7043 Common sense math is 6 points away, but weird, crazy, fuzzy VA math may not be. It may only take me to 94%, which would mean that I round down back to 90%. I don't know...I haven't done the calculation though. I am afraid to "poke the bear" with increases. I've tried for 2 other secondaries but were denied. TDIU at 100% P&T is identical (pay compensation & benefits) to a combined rating at 100% schedular but only with work restrictions. I can't work anyways with my disabilites, so I don't plan to. Also, a combined schedular rating will not help me to SMC-S. Only a TDIU rating can do that, so I will be better off financially if I can get there via TDIU.

My base camp was Lai Kai and spent most of my time in the Cambodian Vietnam border and what became known as the Iron Triangle. I was exposed to copious amounts OF AGENT ORANGE. i HAD MY FIRST HEART ATTACK WHEN I WAS 41, I had 2 more heart attack. On my 2nd heart attack i got a stent. On my 3rd i got a triple bypass.I recently had congestive heart failure and a mini stroke. I am going on 77 years old this June. What i need to know is how to get my classification from PTSD to heart disease?

He is 100+ disable end stage parkinsons and alzheimers needing 24 hr care but I dont want to put him in a nursing home. I want to keep him with me at home. He should be getting $6500 and he is getting $5099. I had to appeal claim and still waiting for a judge be assigned.

Can anyone tell me, for 100% TDIU P&T veterans who have dependents on the CAMPVA system, are your dependents eligible for dental care? Also, how long (old) can you claim your children to be your dependents (age18? age 21?, age 25)? Not just for CHAMPVA, but everything (i.e. Space A flights).
CHAMPVA doesnt cover their dental or vision (*Unless the need has arisen from an injury that caused the need for eye or dental care ie; an accident). Covers dependents until the age of 23 (out of college). Additionally, if you have a special needs child/dependent, there is the "VA Helpless Child". At age 18, the monthly rate goes up to nearly $400 per month for that child for the rest of your life. Once you get your 100% P&T, go to your nearest base and get your ID cards. You rate everything that a regular retiree gets to include Space A for all US locations.

I believe it is 23 years old and in a student status (thats for CHAMPVA, her ID card and VA dependent compensation). You need to submit to the VA her proof of enrollment as long as she is in college. She will qualify for student aid as well. Depending on your state or even Chapter 35 Educational Benefits. We are in Texas and used the Hazelwood Act to pay for our kids college and Chapter 35 for my wife. Get with the college admissions and ask to be connected with a Veterans Service Manager, there should be one on every college campus. They will be the advocate for your child. @@proudasiangirl576

You’re six points away from 100%. Have you looked into increases/secondaries. 100% scheduler is “harder” IMO so much better.

File a secondary claim of heart disease onto your PTSD RATING

I’m 100% P&T for TBI. But also 30%(x2) for CarpalTunnel in both upper extremities. So if I understand that could qualify for SMC(S)? Or at least TDUI?
