Great video, thanks! Before using this software my score was mid 40's for mobile. After using their instructions my score was about low 80's. After using your instructions my site's score is mobile 98, desktop 97. Brilliant video, brilliant result!

Thank you. I had WP Rocket installed already, but it needed some tweaking. I had to turn off some of the JS options again, though, as WP Forms warned me that something wasn't right. However, the speed has gone up significantly, especially with the use of Imagnify.

Hi there! Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you liked it! This only matters if you are using a CDN network. If you have that, the CDN can provide a link to you where you can grab the images from. However, most people don’t have this, it’s only needed if your target audience is somewhere else than your server is located!

I'm not sure what hosting company you're using, but more and more companies out there offer staging environments these days. That is where you want to work on your site in the meantime. And with a staging environment, all you have to do is click 1 button and it will all be moved over to your live site. Personally, I'm using Cloudways for my hosting and they do offer this standard.

Yeah so you should optimize every image before uploading to your website in Photoshop. Max size 2000px width and around 200kb. But for small things like logos, make it the exact site you would need, like 150px width for example or SVG.
Did exactly what you said and my speed got slower and the page looks a little different too. Really like the way you presented it, therefore i stuck around till the end. Am confused what i should do now that the result are even slightly worse.

Hi Matt, great video. We have everything "green" in page speed insights except "performance" PLUS we are "failed" in CWVs. Consequently our rankings how bombed out terribly. We did switch from a Weebly platform to a WP/Elementor platform Autumn last year, We, also dropped the "www" from our URL. I "hope" the page speed (which is pitiful at the moment) "should" get us our CWVs back to a pass when we improve this! On your video where you show the "removing" of lazy load in PSIs out of the 8 slides typically the 1st 4 to 6 are blank! Do I remove the lazy load on everything on the page that "should" show? WP Rocket released a new version (3.16) which can now automatically exclude from lazyload images which are in the viewport. It seems to be the only to make it automatically without further settings.

Ok great video. Every video I’ve seen you teach this stuff very concise. In the beginning this website had 57 plugins which you said was a lot. So what is a good number of plugins to have for a woocommerce website? I know there’s not really a definite answer to this but if you saw let’s say 20 plugins for a woocommerce website is that an ok number of plugins to have? Or is that still too many? No sure is this helps but I built my woocommerce website using the Kadence theme. Everything was done with Kadence. And of course I put woocommerce on there to make the shop.

Hello Mat! Thanks for all the info! After having problems with litespeed and when being very fast but eliminating my menu, I wanted to try again with wprocket. Sadly wprocket when turning reduce activity at CDN, it crashed my website, and the same for trying to exclude media. I already had imagify. Because I am a photographer, I have a lot of images on website (and for ok quality I try to make them at least 100-200kb). My normal speed now is 75-80 for mobile. Is there another way for me to get good FCP and LCP for mobile test? Does it make a big difference for google if you have 80 or 90 on the speed test?
Hi Bogdan, thanks for the question. Well the mobile speed is always a challenger. but ranking higher in Google is not only speed, it has to do with a LOT of different kind of things. But if you are at the same in SEO 'points' than yes, speed will make the difference in the end. You could try asking WP ROcket for help, they might want to check it out for you!

I'm very happy with it, but I have one question for you. My landing page is loading very fast now, but the background slider (made with elementor) on the main header section is taking some time. I tried to exclude the images of the slider from lazy loading but that didn't work. Can you suggest another fix? Thank you!

Hi Raimond! Thanks for the kind words and your question. This happens sometimes due to a lot of reasons. Make sure after updating your images and converting them to WebP to clear all caches on your website again. Also make sure to preload CSS. After that is done, score should be higher than it was 😊 Let me know how that goes!
@WPressDoctor Thanks Matt for replying and giving some ideas. We ended up having some errors on the page and deinstalling everything and reinstalling all back. Have now installed WP rocket and imagify. Still cant get the performance numbers higher, stying at 65, LCP is 3,2 sec. Interesting that Imagify could not get it resized properly. Do you offer personal consulting?

I installed WP Rocket and followed your guidelines, which greatly improved my site's scores. However, I'm experiencing an issue: when I load my site in Chrome or in an incognito window, it takes a long time to load. But as soon as I touch the screen, it loads instantly. Hi Matt im facing white screen issues when installing, my site goes up for 30 mins then blank again. i tried disabling manually optimising images to webp and adjusting each pic to correct dims, ive tried wp-optimize and now Seraphinite Accelerator but still same issue. when pics are available page insights reads error and when white screen page insights score 99. my domain name is with cloudflare, hosting with hostinger and DNS setup back in cloudflare. could that be the issue? Please help
Hi Jody, thats a pretty weird situation. How can your website be up for 30 min. and then goes blank? That sounds more of a PHP error problem than a caching problem. Check your error logs to be sure its not something completely else 😁

Hi there and thanks for the question! If you see that the score on Contentful Paint is not that good, then yes, exclude the first images that are inside of your screen upon first load. Not when you scroll down, as they can be lazyloading without a problem 😀. Does that make sense?

The js file loads 4 times and in every page and that drops my speed quit a lot. From your knowledge have you seen it anywhere else? It's even worse if I have contact form 7 with integrated recaptcha protection.
Hm yes I have seen that, not supposed to work like that. You could try to use reCaptcha v2 - it’s a checkbox “I’m not a robot” instead of V3 which actually is being loaded on every single page. See if that works?

Thank you. I had WP Rocket installed already, but it needed some tweaking. I had to turn off some of the JS options again, though, as WP Forms warned me that something wasn't right. However, the speed has gone up significantly, especially with the use of Imagnify.

In the optimisation section, "Create WebP version of images" > Use "Pictures" tags > "if you use a CDN, specify the URL" ; what is the URL I should insert? Hi there! Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you liked it! This only matters if you are using a CDN network. If you have that, the CDN can provide a link to you where you can grab the images from. However, most people don’t have this, it’s only needed if your target audience is somewhere else than your server is located!

I'm not sure what hosting company you're using, but more and more companies out there offer staging environments these days. That is where you want to work on your site in the meantime. And with a staging environment, all you have to do is click 1 button and it will all be moved over to your live site.
Personally, I'm using Cloudways for my hosting and they do offer this standard.

Yeah so you should optimize every image before uploading to your website in Photoshop. Max size 2000px width and around 200kb. But for small things like logos, make it the exact site you would need, like 150px width for example or SVG.

Hi Matt, great video. We have everything "green" in page speed insights except "performance" PLUS we are "failed" in CWVs. Consequently our rankings how bombed out terribly. We did switch from a Weebly platform to a WP/Elementor platform Autumn last year, We, also dropped the "www" from our URL. I "hope" the page speed (which is pitiful at the moment) "should" get us our CWVs back to a pass when we improve this! On your video where you show the "removing" of lazy load in PSIs out of the 8 slides typically the 1st 4 to 6 are blank! Do I remove the lazy load on everything on the page that "should" show?

WP Rocket released a new version (3.16) which can now automatically exclude from lazyload images which are in the viewport. It seems to be the only to make it automatically without further settings.

Ok great video. Every video I’ve seen you teach this stuff very concise. In the beginning this website had 57 plugins which you said was a lot. So what is a good number of plugins to have for a woocommerce website? I know there’s not really a definite answer to this but if you saw let’s say 20 plugins for a woocommerce website is that an ok number of plugins to have? Or is that still too many? No sure is this helps but I built my woocommerce website using the Kadence theme. Everything was done with Kadence. And of course I put woocommerce on there to make the shop.

Hello Mat! Thanks for all the info! After having problems with litespeed and when being very fast but eliminating my menu, I wanted to try again with wprocket. Sadly wprocket when turning reduce activity at CDN, it crashed my website, and the same for trying to exclude media. I already had imagify. Because I am a photographer, I have a lot of images on website (and for ok quality I try to make them at least 100-200kb). My normal speed now is 75-80 for mobile. Is there another way for me to get good FCP and LCP for mobile test? Does it make a big difference for google if you have 80 or 90 on the speed test?
Hi Bogdan, thanks for the question. Well the mobile speed is always a challenger. but ranking higher in Google is not only speed, it has to do with a LOT of different kind of things. But if you are at the same in SEO 'points' than yes, speed will make the difference in the end. You could try asking WP ROcket for help, they might want to check it out for you!

Hi Matt - love your videos - well explained. I got my performance score on Page Speed Insights from 63 to 85 with wp rocket (awesome!). Then i added Imagify and the performance dropped to 65. :/ How to understand that?
Hi Raimond! Thanks for the kind words and your question. This happens sometimes due to a lot of reasons. Make sure after updating your images and converting them to WebP to clear all caches on your website again. Also make sure to preload CSS. After that is done, score should be higher than it was 😊 Let me know how that goes!
@WPressDoctor Thanks Matt for replying and giving some ideas. We ended up having some errors on the page and deinstalling everything and reinstalling all back. Have now installed WP rocket and imagify. Still cant get the performance numbers higher, stying at 65, LCP is 3,2 sec. Interesting that Imagify could not get it resized properly. Do you offer personal consulting?

Hi there! Thanks for your question . I personally have never tried this, so I don’t know from experience. It seems logical though that on Litespeed servers we should use the LiteSpeed plugin instead of WP Rocket 👍🏻 But again, I never tried 😀

Oh yeah it’s safe, don’t worry about that. Why wouldn’t it be? As long as you have Security in place like Solid Security, all should be good 😀

Hi there, thanks for the question. Make sure that image is very small in size, the exact dimension you need (dont resize with css) and in WebP format, that might solve the problem?

I installed WP Rocket and followed your guidelines, which greatly improved my site's scores. However, I'm experiencing an issue: when I load my site in Chrome or in an incognito window, it takes a long time to load. But as soon as I touch the screen, it loads instantly. Hi Matt im facing white screen issues when installing, my site goes up for 30 mins then blank again. i tried disabling manually optimising images to webp and adjusting each pic to correct dims, ive tried wp-optimize and now Seraphinite Accelerator but still same issue. when pics are available page insights reads error and when white screen page insights score 99. my domain name is with cloudflare, hosting with hostinger and DNS setup back in cloudflare. could that be the issue? Please help
Hi Jody, thats a pretty weird situation. How can your website be up for 30 min. and then goes blank? That sounds more of a PHP error problem than a caching problem. Check your error logs to be sure its not something completely else 😁
@@WPressDoctor Hi Matt, i changed the theme from PHLOX free to ASTRA free and it worked, i kept getting errors when running pagespeed insights. nothing could be read but seems good now. appreciate the feedback. stay awesome.

Hello Matt, I'm following your tutorial and in my WP Rocket there is no "Cache" tab so the first steps in Cache Settings I don't know how to set up, I think maybe it was an update issue. I have no way of activating User Cache: Enable caching for logged-in WordPress Users

Hi there and thanks for the question! If you see that the score on Contentful Paint is not that good, then yes, exclude the first images that are inside of your screen upon first load. Not when you scroll down, as they can be lazyloading without a problem 😀. Does that make sense?

The js file loads 4 times and in every page and that drops my speed quit a lot. From your knowledge have you seen it anywhere else? It's even worse if I have contact form 7 with integrated recaptcha protection.
Hm yes I have seen that, not supposed to work like that. You could try to use reCaptcha v2 - it’s a checkbox “I’m not a robot” instead of V3 which actually is being loaded on every single page. See if that works?

Hi there! Thanks for the question! Yeah what you probably see is the LCP rating is low. So make sure on mobile that you don’t load big images so that things “jump around” upon loading your website.
