- Is it possible to beat Borderlands 2 as without walking? What if we tried it on a fresh character? What if we had to do it alone? Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and Borderlands 3 all have guns that can get pretty wacky, but wacky doesn't always mean good, but In this challenge run, we try to beat the game with basic movement controls, WASD! So a while back a homie by the name of oboeshoesgames created a video about all the reasons why you couldn’t beat borderlands 2 without moving. And that got me thinking, can you beat Borderlands 2 without walking, well yeah you can just sprint, crawl, or jump everywhere duh. Okay okay, let's make it more interesting than that. What if we didn’t have access to the four basic movement controls, WASD. Well in that case you’re still pretty much out of luck then, but there are still some loopholes we can consider. In order to succeed we will have to really stretch the definition of beating borderlands 2. My challenge runs are usually UVHM, OP10, geared runs, where I test the viability of many cursed and terrible weapons. So we could do it that way but the UVHM geared speedrun category pretty much already does this via double shot rocket jumping, they still do walk for parts of the run but most of the time they’re flying or spamming Norfleets. This also isn’t a freshly birthed character so getting to this max-level geared scenario would require a save editor or walking while getting your character up to max level. If beating the game with a fresh character is what we are looking for then a super easy, and in my opinion lame, way to do it is to play coop and have someone else do all the work. But there is a way you can create a “fresh” character and “beat” the game without using WASD in single-player. The quotation marks are there because this is where I really start stretching definitions. So the giraffe DLC came out and gave players the ability to create a new character starting at level 30. Each class also has a specific set of gear that is the exact same each time you create a new one. These characters ALSO start off at the beginning of the very last mission, The Talon of God. Ok ok, calm down If you wanna call me a cheater I have the whole “You cheated, you didn’t grow,” copypasta in the description so you don’t have to google it to paste it in the comment section. Anyway, Beating the game with one of these saves is a real speed run category, known as any% Boosted. We will be doing a modified version of that but don’t think this is going to be easy, we still can’t use WASD so this ain't no walk in the park. Well, it's not a walk at all actually. So, we set our movement keys to the arrow keys so we don’t touch them, pick Zer0, and spec into execute, and bam we can now dash towards enemies allowing us to move, easy right? Well not entirely, this is definitely a helpful skill but there’s one problem, it only works if we have a line of sight to an enemy, and since we need to go talk to claptrap first, we are pretty much screwed, but there is still hope! A level 30 boosted Zer0 starts out with a Rocketeer assault rifle which we can use to do this. (clip of bounce) Ok that was like 2 inches but if you chain them together you can actually get some momentum going, throw some grenades into the mix and we have a basic foundation for movement in this.
This was real fun, dont know if i want to try it ever again tho lmao

Here is something, can you slide without moving? Or, here is an honestly good idea, use a cheat engine to give yourself infinite grenades, and your only movement option is grenade jumping.

recently while playing this game I discovered that jumping on enemies heads does exactly 2 damage, so naturally I think this would be a good challenge run. A torturous and potentially lethal one, but a good one.
You can actually get pretty far with this. Sometimes you need to resort to pacifism though which creates some interesting strats. Like cars don’t take jump damage so you need to hire a local group of spider ants to do the job XD

I had an idea for a run - Can you beat borderlands with just the bee shield. Same settings as normal (OP10), give yourself a level 1 pistol (or if that's impossible, shotgun) that does close to one damage per pellet, making it useless against high level enemies but with the best bee shield variant you can possibly create. Add a class mod + relic + abilities that give shield bonuses if necessary.
This idea is written down don’t worry! My idea was to allow myself the 3 gearbox guns you get at the start but OP10 bee and such

I definitely feel like with good R&G and practice you could definitely get a sub one hour time but I don’t think this is funny enough to the point where other people might want to do it XD

you could have beat hammerlocks side quest cleaning up the berg because it gives the thing you moved with in the challenge but non elemental and like level 3 it would probably take you multiple trys but still

I’m fairly certain boosted characters have randomized loot since I made one and it had the rubi and the hail on axton, so I think that means it’s randomized and not fixed gear they spawn with because why give axton the rubi and hail and zero nothing? Or gaige the heart breaker and maya nothing?
Krieg gets a heartbreaker, zero gets the sloth sniper and everything is bladed too I think. Made a few zeros myself to check and it’s the same

You can bypass the second door if you can get onto the scaffolding on the left side. There's small open zone behind the tower that isn't blocked by an invisible wall

It requires the Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sancuary DLC. Not sure if it’s available on 360 but should be available on xbox one!

Also the Captain blade video made me laugh alot more then i expected. These challenge videos are usually kind of dry with the challenge being the only thing of substance. Saw this in my recommended and was excited, then saw the runtime and was sad because I assumed it was a late April Fool's joke, then watched the video and was satisfied that it wasn't. I wish it was longer, but I sure as hell wouldn't dare to attempt this challenge for a full playthrough (if it's possible,) so I can't fault you for not doing so. Can't wait for the next "proper" challenge.
Who knows, I might tackle UVHM with this character someday O.O

theoretically speaking, its possible to do a "full" run from level 1, as you can farm one of the very first quests for a rocketeer AR. the quest is in southern shelf, so youll have to bend the rules up to that point

@@shreknskrubgaming7248 youd need a bit of luck, a lot of ammo scavenging, a planned route, but i think it would be. you could use grenades too
