Additional things i could think about for this challenge was you could of used a stockpile relic for 26 nades. Or taken the easy way out and increased damage with a bone. Something id like to see you try is the op1-10 run that joltz did. He proved you could beat the runs with only grenades but you can always spice it up
A fun challenge could be to beat BL2 as a Wizard, and you can only use the spell grenades, like the Magic Missile (x2/x4), Fireball, Firestorm, Lightning, Chain Lightning.
Presumably it would be roughly the same build for Axton, with the turrets being “summonable minions” and the turret’s shield being “Mage Armour”/“Shield” spells.
At first, I was expecting Krieg with the more grenade drops, bonus to explosive damage, overkill healing, etc. so you never run out. In fairness though, the slag and second winds are nice.
I'm a masochist as well, as a person who has all characters maxed out with the 100% walkthroughs. And i can't do stuff like that, so he is definitely a god. Or a unstoppable psychopath.
10:32 this happened to me recently in my UVHM Krieg playthrough and I felt so stupid that I missed the Fast-Travel objective. Luckily no one witnessed my historical blunder as I never missed the objective before, but it sucks to know that I screwed it up.
theres alot of "can you beat" content out there these days but i really think you're one of the best. i actually get really stoked whenever i see a borderlands challenge from you.
@@sarahh08it is a good class, ur just not using him right. Overall gaige Is the worst since you can only run 1 build on her. Granted that build is strong but it takes time and you will do no damage if you lose ur stacks.
I like to call this build the "yeetus deletus" and it's my fav way to play axton. Although I usually pair it with a jakobs AR for those pesky explosion resist enemies so i don't torture myself like you did
Yeah or even that big boom blaster thing I threw in the grinder, OR, as I recently learned, you could just sit behind the constructor for a LONG time and have it nuke it self do death because those deal self damage. 🙃
I've yet to watch but the 90% grenade damage resistance that the required SBA Constructor has, Handsome Jack has, and that Saturn has sounds super fun (Warden might have it too iirc). I've done Community Patch Gunless Axton before and those fights very easily can get on your nerves, it'll be interesting to see how you deal with the bloodshot stronghold given how that was my stopping point when I hit UVHM, too much required mobbing and not enough nades (even with Tiny Tina grenade ammo regen). Edits made during the vid: Also worth noting that the Vault Hunter relic only applies to blue gear and lower because of Gearbox quality spaghetti, iirc it's only real legitimate use is for a little bit of increase for the drop chances of the Cobra farm. Hell yeah portable Onslaught glitch Small QoL python mods would alleviate a lot of the picking up guns and having them go into your main hand and switching nades. I've found and used a mod that allows you to switch between favorited nades without opening inventory and a Allegiance/Restriction mod that allows you to disable weapons from entering your hands if they dont meet certain requirements. Allows you to filter based off of manufacturer, level, rarity, weapon type, etc. Pretty useful for a Tediore allegiance run I did on Axton. There's also a mod that allows you to purchase ammo from vendors without directly opening the vendor which is pretty nice, also a Python mod like the aforementioned two. Yeah UVHM DoTs are sad. Wilhelm has no nade damage resist so he gets murdered to death by nades and Tediore throws Yep, SBA V3.0 Constructor is CBT It's worth noting that the Kiss Of Death can crit, so I'm pretty sure it can be used for Face Mcshooty kill if it was just a general nade-only/gunless Axton run Yeah shock damage fastball was doing the most damage because Warrior takes reduced damage from fire and explosions. Overall really fun challenge run, cant wait to see what you put out next!!
Addendum: the Vault Hunter's relic actually just causes 5% of white gear to be rerolled into something that isn't white; the relative rarities of everything else stays the same. It's basically just a tiny step up from not having a relic at all. Edit: I misspoke. It actually reduces the chance of a piece of gear being white from 89.92% to 89.5% - so it reduces the chance of your gear being white by slightly over 0.4%, and most of those rerolls will be green items because the chance of green goes up from 8.99% to 9.4%.

I’ve watched joltzdude enough to know that the fastball can hard-carry any run it’s used in (explains why it’s in almost all his runs), but it was interesting to see just how far the fastball can really go
Here’s a challenge idea; Can you beat Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as Mad Moxxi? I have a hunch a Moxxi weapons-only run in TPS would be a lot more unique than in BL2 since TPS has the Slammer shield and the Vibra-Pulse Laser Gun, and interestingly enough, many of BL2’s base game Moxxi guns are in TPS but can only be obtained via Gibbed.
One thing you could do about running out of grenades, is having a fireball mod on hand that you could swap to in order to regenerate grenades, then swap back
Because they would have the word RESIST show up if they were meant to be immune. Any splash damage like at all even on guns just doesn’t hit these guys.

I know it's been 2 years, but if anyone else ever has the same problem with Roland being stuck INSIDE the warden, you can finish the quest by jumping on top of the warden, the game let's you talk to Roland from there

Im curious if its possible to do the contructor fight if you were to have a low level lightning bolt or firebolt; something that doesnt do any semblance of damage, but can regen grenades for you.
As soon as you started this run I knew the constructors would be impossible. I loved running around with fastballs but had to use a gun for constructors. I am impressed you killed Saturn though.
I wonder if "Never allowed to reload" would be a fun challenge run? You have to keep picking up new weapons, because once you empty a gun's magazine, you have to toss it. Maybe grenades could be used 10x each? Since they are much less common than guns. It might not be possible if you go into boss fights without a full inventory of guns. Purchasing guns would be allowed, because it might be impossible if it wasn't.
Pretty neat to know that you can beat borderlands 2 can with only fastballs (discounting the glitchy stupid turrets ofc) now that you know that the super badass constructor can just fallout itself

I love how those 2 little wall turrets are a pain in so many challenges done by players. I saw them stop like 4 different challenges so far.

Buggy turrets aside, challenge could be more feasible if you added a relic to boost nade damage and the spell grenades for the regen.

Mitten squad did a challenge pretty similar to this! He had to use what ever gun drops and constantly keep switching if something new popped up.
Honestly, I think for future grenade only challenges you should allow the magic missile to regen grenades. Just for that though, loved this run!
