- Is it possible to beat Borderlands 2 with ONLY the Bane? What if we tried it on OP10? What if we weren't allowed to drive cars either? Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and Borderlands 3 all have guns that can get pretty wacky, but wacky doesn't always mean good. In this challenge run, we try to beat the game with everyone's favorite cursed weapon...The Bane

My favorite thing to tell people is that even if you turn all your sound options to 0. The Bane still makes it's sound. And that's the real curse.

It's significantly harder due to the way they control it though.

17:30 the old Iron kings hole claims yet another victim in an entirely different game.
Even with hundreds of hours in Ds2 I still fall into that bloody hole at least once per playthrough
Seeing how many times those crystalisks scored hole-in-one was truly painful.
Don't know if you intentionally ignored their projectiles for some comedic value or not, but they can be destroyed with gunfire, Scorn orb or teslas
I usually pride myself on knowing what projectiles are destroyable, but my mind is actually blown know. 🤯

To be honest, if i ever try this challenge for myself i would exclude the rules with the no use of car or random weapon to go faster as i would have no patience to deal with that movemeny
I shoulda said no fast travel too. Oh well
I did this my cousin convinced me that If I did this it would make my caricatures all lvl 62 (this was max at the time) he also said no ability’s
Yeah I'm not sure having the car would make this that much easier, considering the main challenge seems to be staying alive in combat.
Honestly the easiest combat when it comes to mobbing out of all my challenges so far but the word easy is relative XD

There is a shield that you can get that also slows down your movement speed. Idk what it's called but I picked it up in the mercenary day headhunter pack. You should have done that shield and the bane together!
Yeah that’s the Fabled Tortoise Shield. I tested it out and it looks like if your holding the bane your movement speed will always be Bane speed. I tried to use Maya’s fleet skill that gives a speed boost too but The Bane just overrides any movement speed changes. I would have totally did that though if it worked!
@@LilGasmask Wow so not only did they make it so you can't turn off the stupid screaming without killing the games volume but took away what would make it useable. I have no words i know the bain is supposed to be bad but the quest they make you do to get it is way to long for this piece of work.

@@LilGasmask it actually does work, you just need to keep the shield depleted... which defeats the purpose of having a shield, and keeping it depleted below UVHM is kind of hard. but it works, I have done runs with it.. it's not a fun time, but it's way better than doing it without, because it doesn't take a year to get to sanctuary 🤣
@@imzesok the strat for constant super move speed in uvhm is to get a fabled tortoise in normal mode and use a shield removing class mod
You have big balls keeping that gun for a whole game I always just do it for xp and throw it of the cliff in lynchwood
Also the fact that you also did it on a mode that I would not get to 0p 1 on on the ps3 version is even better you just went above and beyond to show that even the bane can complete the game
I used this gun probably longer than I should of doing local co-op with my brother.
He dreaded me switching to it. He didn't brush off the screams so easily

My friend once dual weilded the bane for 30min, even when he was on the opposite side of the map I heard the screams and I could still vaguely hear it when I had my headset off…
So this video looks like hell itself if my brief experience was anything to go by.

I had alot of issues with the Bloodwing fight when I was going through UVHM again recently, then I found out that if you crouch behind the boxes on the left side of the arena(close to where you jump down), you can completely negate her "divebomb" attacks. Don't know what to do when she drops projectiles in your bane run though.. :/ But yeah, that fight's bs. At least tell the player they can hide behind the containers to avoid damage. Amazing dedication. Well done.
There is more patience displayed in this 20 minute video are triple of the amount of patience I've had my whole life. That was a very impressive run!

I didn't even know there was a day night cycle, or at least didn't notice. Cause you're in and out of maps before any shift happens normally

Very nice. Now I have another challenge for you:
Use the Grog Nozzle, one life, OP10, nothing but the Grog Nozzle, meaning no class mods, grenade mods, only basic shields, no relics, no cheesing, and to top it all off, beat the game within 15 hours. You can do it. I believe in you.
For even more pain pair the bane with the fabled tortoise for extra slow ness
I tried that and it seems that the bane just overrides all other speed changes so it didn’t really do anything sadly.
Two of the craziest things I learned about this weapon is that not only is the voice from Tiny Tina's VA, but the voice that plays while firing will always play regardless of volume settings.
Yep, you can literally disable every single audio setting, music, SFX, and dialogue, and it will STILL play.
You can never escape it
When I beat handsome Jack, I killed him with bane after the "I am the God damn hero" quote.

When i first played borderlands 2 i just muted the game and didnt really pay attention to the story while playing podcasts in the background i thought the bane was supposed to be used as a heavy machine gun wherein you entrench yourself behind cover...i didnt know about the screaming for years

Out of all the challenges this one seemed the most difficult because without mobility you can't dodge them bullets!!
Blowing up the pipeline that way only works with the sawblade technical. Some weird thing with the hitbox, but it's the only vehicle that only needs to be driven close by for the mission to proceed.

@@LilGasmask You might already know him, but Joltzdude139 has made some great playthrough series where he’ll show some tips and good skips for maps. Only downside is you kind of have to hunt through the videos for specific ones sometimes.
I would have been happy seeing this run completed even if you had used a car [for travel], that seemed like quite the arbitrary handicap, but you went above and beyond and I gotta respect that.

I played with the Bane on Maya on level 72 UVHM and it sure is viable for all content. I was using Slagga or Grog Nozzle when moving and slagging, then pulling out the Bane and the turret goes brrrrr

OP10 is an optional challenge to increase the level of your enemies and gear past your level. Being under levels still gives them a crazy damage reduction and make it really hard.
Going down with the bane is a death sentence
on my first play-through of BL2 i got the bane, i thought "this is annoying AF and dropped it on the ground. now i'm watching a video WITH ONLY the bane.......how messed up is that???

"Can you beat Borderlands 2 with only the quest weapon guns of Marcus's Maliwan Pistol Range Fire, Shock, Corrosive, and Slag quest?
Or beat Borderlands 2 with only the Doc Mercy E-Tech bandit laser rifle. (Saving and quitting changes the elemental).
You can move the quest forward by completing the quests in order, but you stop with the slag one.
Maybe you can come up with more/better additional rules.

the gun's damage is definitely decent especially for the early game, you just need patience and ear protection XD.

To be honest, the bain isnt so bad, compared to Lilith: the lava's rising, hearing both would definitely annoy me unless i was focused because i would just ignore it lol
I challenge you to beat bl2 with BANE AND HOPLITE
I tried this and it seems that the effects do not stack. It seems that the Bane overrides the speed decrease and increase from the shield. I also Tried Maya's fleet skill and it did nothing.
I think this is the only one that kind of made me ask, "Why would you do this?" Not that I don't see the amusement for those of us watching.

if you use the bane it's a toy gun for playing with not full on fighting unless you use it for loaders or machine or anything with armor in general.
