the thing about the grog that grinds my gears, is that it has 1) the best slag chance of any pistol 2) the best type B crit modifyer 3) the best passive effect (drunk) 4) the best moxxi heal put any of these effects on a random non unique gun and it instantly is top tier. And the grog has FOUR of these. Meta-defining like no other gun.
Jokes aside, man, it's hiliarious to me than, unironically, the worst two are the starter pistol (makes sense) and a pistol of the highest rarity in the series that's notably difficult to farm.

the lie is that all other multi projectile weapons split amp damage as guns with unlisted projectiles get buffed by the bee such as some of the pellets of the harold and conference call and the toothpick
to explain this a bit better for those that dont understand, originally the bee would give max amp damage to all pellets, which was quickly nerfed due to things like the conference call bee combo. it was then changed to (what it is currently) spread damage between listed pellets, e.g. a shotgun with x10 pellets listed on the card (like 450x10 damage) will have [amp damage / 10] bonus damage per pellet, HOWEVER guns that have pellets that arent listed on the card (like the ricochet fibber) have each individual pellet gain max amp damage.
I'm glad to see the Lady Fist respected over the overhyped Harold. Like, I have fun with the Harold, but only really in Borderlands 3 when it can freeze enemies.
Lady Fist 2nd makes a lot of sense, as it also has the same kind of usefulness as the Grog Nozzle too, being that you swap it on projectile weapons/off hand it to get the bonus crit damage on other weapons
Can we get a car skin tier list next? Loving the tier lists though, great thing to post to stay active while your working on a super hard challenge run!
Wanderlust is pretty decent on Anarchy Gaige, you can't aim anyways and at least every pellet will hit. Still not worth the effort, though. You also get a Tinderbox as a mission item in Clan War: Trailer Trashing, so 3.5 sources. Worst part about the Devastator: Due to a coding error the bullets are spawned behind the gun, making it really weird and annoying to use. The Gwen's Head has a funny use in speedruns as its crit bonus is multiplicative rather than the more common additive. And in old versions you can transfer and stack those bonuses, creating an explosive damage growth.
I play Krieg and the only time I bust out the Grog is for raid bosses, Digi Peak, and Fight for Sanctuary. It's the best utility weapon in Borderlands history, and even though I don't use it very often, it 100% deserves the #1 spot. Now it would be great for you to review more weapons, but nah. Rank every shield lmao.
Other slight correction as is noted on loot lemon and all the wikis, the bee shield grants full amp to ANY unlisted pellets/projectiles, the bee shield, likely due to spaghetti code, only considers projectile count listed on the card for damage division, so weapons like the unkempt harold are ALSO busted by the bee shield as all of its extra projectiles are unlisted projectiles and thusly default to max amp damage, this also breaks weapons like the storm sniper because surprisingly, the tesla orbs are granted full amp for each tick, the biggest problem the bee shield has for me,,, rhat i have to try to keep the damn thing full to take advantage of its incredibly buggy damage interactions, when i could use many other shields for better survivability and still acheive perfectly passable damge out put, the bee shield is a very fun weapon, but losing its amp effect if it so much as has a scratch in it, kind of makes it one of those things where its GREAT if your set up is melting a boss in .03 seconds, and absolute borderline ass under any circumstance where your fighting more than one to two things at a time, but yeah, the ricochet/nine-tails fibber isnt the only weapon which has this interaction with the bee, if a gun fires multiple projectiles but only lists one projectile on the card, the bee damn near double to triples its damage output, the bee is hands down probably the jankiest piece of gear in bl2, i will never understand how gearbox left something that busted entirely unchecked

The DPUH was my first ledgendary. Got it at level 8 on my first play through, before I knew anything about parts, dedicated drops or even skill synergy. Level 8 Zer0, used it until level 15 or so before I noticed I wasn't killing everything in one hit anymore 😂 I don't remember what my second ledgendary was, it paled in comparison to the might of the DPUH. I've still got it stored away in one of my old character banks somewhere. I should dig it out some time and see what parts I was blessed with for my first experience of true power in Borderlands.
TIL the hornet has grenade damage...I thought I was just getting better parts on Axton. Pocket Rocket, I just love the cartoonish color scheme. ...I have never used the grog

The Wanderlust has 2 niche uses, its ok for mobbing in the hands of gaige and krieg. Anarchy doesnt change much of how the shots function so its pretty much free extra damage, and the darts proc bloodbath so you can spam the wanderlust on a gun krieg build for some solid enough effect
I just went back and checked and I was wrong. The initial hit is boosted by grenade damage, but the rising ball explosion is pure splash damage and isn't boosted by grenade damage. It does give you rocket ammo, but I don't think it's boosted by rocket damage buffs. I could be wrong, this game has spaghetti code.

I remember one time I was playing an elemental maya run and I got both the thunderball fists and the tinderbox on my first captain flynt kill. I didn't need to replace them until well into the second half of the story.
3:33 I always use(d) it for making the arena fight quests not a pain in the ass by putting my character to 80 and giving me an 80 wanderlust and just shooting a few out when the waves spawn
Everyone talking about Salvador builds but if you use a ladyfist with gaige you're literally going to bully op10 raid bosses, we're talking about a potential of 1050% damage, plus 800% crit damage, on a character with a skill that can make every 5th shot a guaranteed hit to a crit spot, that means you can get around 8400% damage every 5th shot 💀 (Btw I did the math but the highest stat I could find was an op8 lady fist, that's still over 27 million damage every 5th shot, I assume fewer shots if you can find a slayer of terra with points in nth degree, but idk if that's possible)
There's not enough words to describe how happy I am to see the Law crack the top 10, it's one of my favorite guns in BL2 and absolutely carried me in my first playthrough. I prefer it over the Rapier because it actually does decent bullet damage and doesn't make you more vulnerable to melee.

Well. It's Gotta be me with the god damn nit picks again. First of all. I Gotta talk about the Crit types. There are 4, but you'll mostly see only 2. TypeA and TybeB. For short TypeA is most Common one, it's additive and it's boosted by skill, Class modes and gun parts. TypeB is way rarer, it's multiplicitive with TypeA. It's only on Jakobs Pistols (25%), Jakobs Shotguns (15%), Jakobs rifles(15%) Grog Nozzle (200%). On item cards they get mix up with TybeB Stats. That's why Judge, Striker and Hydra allways show weird numbers. It's TybeA&B showing in one statistic. Next we have the Stalker and Stinger. Yeah, they both bounce, they both are Vladof pistols where name starts with S. But they are different. Stalker has slow ass projectiles, bounces 5 times. It has same stats as TMP with Maliwan barrel. Stinger has no so Slow projectiles that bounce once and it's copy pasted from Anarchist pistol. Aka the best Common pistol with Vladof barrel. Infinity has less base damage and fire rate. Hornet and Hector's paradise... It has same stats, while Hornet can roll all the accessories and paradise just useless Blade. Fibber. Well none of the variants are bad, it's just Ricochet one is easiest to use. The Shotgun Fibber, yeah it doesn't have x9 projectiles, but they are also unlisted, Even that one is for Bee, give a bit more bullet speed and you have long range Bee shotgun. The other is the bouncy one. Hard to aim, but allways had 750% Crit. If Lady fist wasn't buffed it would be this Fibber for crit swapping.
Nah the stalker and the stinger are too similar to even pretend they're different. It's the gun equivalent of throwing on a fake mustache and pretending to be a different guy.
@@miqueagul it's more like saying Tinderbox and Little Evie are same gun, just because they shoot arcing shots with grenade splash for 2 ammo per shot. Not gonna argue that Stinger is lazy design. Stalker is just returning from BL1, for some reason... I won't farm Stinger or Stalker, but one of them would make me happier. I know it's just to make point across. Hope you won't do BL3. That one is ridded with too similiar guns. It got worse... BL4 might continue this

i would agree with top 3 and the 3 lowest, others would need me to test all of them myself to get a full ranking, but generally things would end up in similar spots
@@miqueagul especially considering i have personally never bothered going past OP3 in the 72 level cap days and ever since never really past Wildlife in UVHM, so i can't really say much aside form waht i've seen in the many years of watching others suffer on OP levels.
The grog is so stupid. I hate using it and people say "If you dont like it don't use it" but good luck not at OP 10. You should want to make solid set ups late game but having one gun that literally every character would be punished for not using is insain. It's not high skill, its not hard to get, and it does everything it does best with extra bonus of the drunk effect that no other weapon can do.
Well if you want real advice as opposed to "don't like it don't use it", sniper zero doesn't use the grog, and it's one of the best builds in the game at op10. I'm sure there are others, but that's the only one that comes to mind.
I'd argue the bee is more of a reason for OP levels to exist than the grog. The bee is why about 80% of the postlauch content has some stuff with high levels of bullshit (badassasaurus being the easiest thing to point too, but don't sell stuff like junkenstien short) and they were trying to up the difficulty without introducing more bullshit (even though they reached levels of bullshit that were thought to be unobtainable). Idk I just despise the bee, it had a worse effect on the game than every interaction they found on Salvador combined.
@@miqueagul I agree with Salvador being an abomination, but it's ok to have a character be broken, the bee just made pretty much every gun have a check of "does the bee work with this, no, trash". And lets be real, every bad mechanic they added to the game was with the intention of making the bee less good, which actually had the effect of making every gun worse. Salvador was not the thing that limited game design.

Not saying it isn't broken, I'm more saying saying salvador is insane I see what you're saying now though, and yeah the bee is definitely meta defining along with the grog. A friend of mine, speakinglion, had pointed out that part of the game's selling point is its millions of items, but by the end game maybe 10 are good.
I feel like there are just better ways to get bloodbath, but stacking it around corners is big brain activities. I stand by throwing a single pandemic. As for gaige, I believe it. I didn't try it on her so it might be better than I thought in that context

It's good on some weapons but horrible on others.

Well. It's Gotta be me with the god damn nit picks again.
First of all. I Gotta talk about the Crit types. There are 4, but you'll mostly see only 2. TypeA and TybeB. For short TypeA is most Common one, it's additive and it's boosted by skill, Class modes and gun parts. TypeB is way rarer, it's multiplicitive with TypeA. It's only on Jakobs Pistols (25%), Jakobs Shotguns (15%), Jakobs rifles(15%) Grog Nozzle (200%). On item cards they get mix up with TybeB Stats. That's why Judge, Striker and Hydra allways show weird numbers. It's TybeA&B showing in one statistic.
Next we have the Stalker and Stinger. Yeah, they both bounce, they both are Vladof pistols where name starts with S. But they are different. Stalker has slow ass projectiles, bounces 5 times. It has same stats as TMP with Maliwan barrel. Stinger has no so Slow projectiles that bounce once and it's copy pasted from Anarchist pistol. Aka the best Common pistol with Vladof barrel. Infinity has less base damage and fire rate.
Hornet and Hector's paradise... It has same stats, while Hornet can roll all the accessories and paradise just useless Blade.
Fibber. Well none of the variants are bad, it's just Ricochet one is easiest to use. The Shotgun Fibber, yeah it doesn't have x9 projectiles, but they are also unlisted, Even that one is for Bee, give a bit more bullet speed and you have long range Bee shotgun. The other is the bouncy one. Hard to aim, but allways had 750% Crit. If Lady fist wasn't buffed it would be this Fibber for crit swapping.
Nah the stalker and the stinger are too similar to even pretend they're different. It's the gun equivalent of throwing on a fake mustache and pretending to be a different guy.
@@miqueagul it's more like saying Tinderbox and Little Evie are same gun, just because they shoot arcing shots with grenade splash for 2 ammo per shot.
Not gonna argue that Stinger is lazy design. Stalker is just returning from BL1, for some reason...
I won't farm Stinger or Stalker, but one of them would make me happier.
I know it's just to make point across. Hope you won't do BL3. That one is ridded with too similiar guns. It got worse... BL4 might continue this

i would agree with top 3 and the 3 lowest, others would need me to test all of them myself to get a full ranking, but generally things would end up in similar spots

The grog is so stupid. I hate using it and people say "If you dont like it don't use it" but good luck not at OP 10. You should want to make solid set ups late game but having one gun that literally every character would be punished for not using is insain. It's not high skill, its not hard to get, and it does everything it does best with extra bonus of the drunk effect that no other weapon can do.
Well if you want real advice as opposed to "don't like it don't use it", sniper zero doesn't use the grog, and it's one of the best builds in the game at op10. I'm sure there are others, but that's the only one that comes to mind.
I'd argue the bee is more of a reason for OP levels to exist than the grog. The bee is why about 80% of the postlauch content has some stuff with high levels of bullshit (badassasaurus being the easiest thing to point too, but don't sell stuff like junkenstien short) and they were trying to up the difficulty without introducing more bullshit (even though they reached levels of bullshit that were thought to be unobtainable). Idk I just despise the bee, it had a worse effect on the game than every interaction they found on Salvador combined.
Ah idk about that. Salvador's existence is an abomination. The bee has the downside of being glass cannon, salvador is all cannon no glass.
@@miqueagul I agree with Salvador being an abomination, but it's ok to have a character be broken, the bee just made pretty much every gun have a check of "does the bee work with this, no, trash". And lets be real, every bad mechanic they added to the game was with the intention of making the bee less good, which actually had the effect of making every gun worse. Salvador was not the thing that limited game design.
@@altacc5116 also the current bee is post nerf, which is just crazy. Not saying it isn't broken, I'm more saying saying salvador is insane
I see what you're saying now though, and yeah the bee is definitely meta defining along with the grog. A friend of mine, speakinglion, had pointed out that part of the game's selling point is its millions of items, but by the end game maybe 10 are good.

Honestly the wanderlust is ok on Krieg and Gaige, Krieg it can activate Bloodbath, and Gaige can have so much raw damage that it can kinda work
I feel like there are just better ways to get bloodbath, but stacking it around corners is big brain activities. I stand by throwing a single pandemic. As for gaige, I believe it. I didn't try it on her so it might be better than I thought in that context

The double harold is in first for me the grog is good but In ultimate vault Hunter with a bee shield i kill everything until Utvh without the grog.
