McLaren 570S DIY Oil Change

- Our 2019 McLaren 570s was due for it's annual oil change service so we wanted to try it ourselves. It's fairly simple and only requires 1 special tool, the Launch X431 computer with the McLaren package. We replaced all the crush washers, drain plugs, and o-rings on the drain lines. We also replaced the oil filter. The oil we used was 6.8 Liters of Liquid Moly 10w40.

Mahle OX 254 D4 is the same oil filter that fits my Porsche 992, and many other cars. $15 from FCP Euro including O-ring for the housing.
6mm screw on those turbo oil return lines is probably 10Nm or 7.4 ft-lbs.

I remember a couple years ago (2019-2020) they had some absurdly good lease deals on these. Something like $10k down and $1800 a month. (Granted it was supercar low mileage lease (2500-3000 mi per year)

With these and the Porsches being so sensitive and time consuming, I like to drain the oil into a graduated container and refill with exactly what drained out. It can save some time.

which x431 sub model did you use? I’m thinking about buying this unit. Do you have to pay extra for McLaren software?

How did you get your scanner to work with McLaren? Did you have to download any specific software or subscribe to anything? Thought the scanner was like 25k lol

How much extra time did it take to edit in 4k?
Surprisingly not much really. The rendering was maybe 10-20% more. The file sizes are about 25% larger so not terrible.
Does the scanner reset service messages for all mclaren cars?

How did you reset the maintenance interval? When I emailed the Launch X431 PROS V4.0 they said the 570s spider was not supported.
