Report:
On 07/14/2022,
At 14:47 on this date, Officers responded to the area of the Burlington Store and the Kroger Supermarket. Officer responded to this location in reference to a shoplifting.
The 911 caller, initially from Burlington, stated that the suspect was a black adult female wearing a red shirt, carrying a navy blue bag, and bearing blue-dyed hair took several clothing items and left without paying for them. They stated that the suspect walked towards the Kroger Supermarket.
officer arrived on scene at the Kroger and observed a female matching the exact description walking out of the Kroger. The officer parked my vehicle near her and said "Hey Ma'am, come here." The suspect continued walking away from the officer. The officer then yelled "Ma'am stop!" and the suspect then started running away from the officer. The officer was in a marked police vehicle and in full police uniform to which the suspect observed when the officer was telling her to stop. The suspect continued running away from the officer and he began pursuing her on foot. The officer caught up to the suspect with ease and after continuously yelling for her to stop, she did not, so the officer grabbed ahold of her and brought her to the ground. The officer handcuffed the suspect (behind the back, double locked) and informed the suspect that she was under arrest.
EMS arrived on scene
The EMT stated that the female was being arrested for shoplifting earlier in the day
The officer asked the suspect what her last name was and she informed the officer that she did not remember her last name.
The officer identified the suspect, with the help of a detective who was investigating the earlier case.
The suspect never provided her actual name to the officer.
The suspect continuously stated that she did not steal anything, however, upon search incident-to-arrest of her navy blue bag, the officer located several clothing items with tags still attached, as well as several food items from Kroger.
A representative from both Kroger and Burlington identified the items as being stolen from their respective companies. The Burlington representative barred the suspect from the shopping center for a period of two years.
The suspect was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Way too lenient a sentence…she should have been sentenced to a MINIMUM of ONE YEAR at HARD LABOR in a state prison! These people are not afraid of the consequences of their actions because the sentences are way to light…they need to receive much more punitive sentences so they will think twice before committing additional crimes.

I agree. I do have seizures from a tramatic brain injury and it's nothing like this. I can't just have a seizure on demand. I have a service dog who can alert to me if a seizure is about to come on. I walk with a cane and am on a lot of medication to try to control mine but it's not always foolproof. I was so upset watching her fake something so serious as a seizure. She should be made to do volunteer work in a hospital or rehab center for people trying to learn to cope with seizures so she could see what she's making light off.

This perfectly illustrates the problem we are facing right now. Certain people from certain a "communitay" refuse to hold their criminals accountable for anything. A criminal will get caught shoplifting. Then they run from the police. Then, when caught, they fight the police and when the police fight back they blatantly fake some kind of traumatic injury. From there bystanders and "the communitay" get involved and claim the police are "doing too much" and that the crime wasn't serious enough for police to use force. The sad part is that occasionally this actually works. If they are able to file a lawsuit against the city it is cheaper for the city to settle than fight it. The city will then use taxpayer money to pay a settlement to the criminal. It is ridiculous! This "communitay" needs to stop making excuses for their criminals. No other group makes excuses like this for their criminal's. They are smart enough to realize that crime affects everyone and when police arrest criminals and take them off the street it makes life better for the entire community.

Dude ikr?? I’ve been scrolling the comments looking to see if anyone else mentioned her. It’s truly bizarre to me the way bystanders will sometimes just reflexively assume that the police are abusing their power anytime they so much as attempt to apprehend a (usually resisting) suspect. Like I’m all for citizens speaking out if/when police are using excessive force, but that doesn’t mean that’s what’s actually occurring anytime they try to arrest someone. If you believe in holding cops accountable, which I do, you should also believe in holding criminals accountable too. We’re all responsible for our own actions and letting one group off the hook while vilifying another does nothing to benefit society, it only shifts the imbalance.

@@cheyann555 I've suffered seizures for over 40 years, and I've had at least two instances where I did indeed slowly slip onto the floor. However, I've never shook like that. I've either simply froze in place or suffered convulsions, usually the latter. As was pointed near the end, she's pulled this fake seizure thing before. By the way, according to anyone who has seen me have a seizure, I've never foamed at the mouth either.

Yeah, you don’t fall in slow motion during a seizure. My worst seizure my friend said I fell fast and hard. I hit my head on the wood windowsill and got a brain bleed. People that fake sh*t AND steal 👎
i had a girlfriend once that had seizures attack for real ..its not a pretty sight, she use to bite up her tongue everytime. this young lady doesnt know what she coming down upon her self
To see someone faking a seizure just really torques me! That is NOT how it happens. They lose all control and d#$n sure can't ease themselves to the ground! One other thing, they are not cognizant while in a seizure and afterward will not remember things, even to the point of thinking people from years before are with them, instead of current friends and family. After a seizure, they will be dazed, just "out of it" for a time. This witch should be charged for this BS, like giving false information to an officer or something. ANYONE who pulls this crap should face an additional charge.
Seizures are no laughing matter and this woman's act is demeaning and disgraceful, especially to those who actually DO have a seizure disorder.
