When it’s revealed that Chance is okay under the truck and the theme music starts playing I cry happy tears . These movies have a special place in my heart .❤️ i named my cat Sassy after her.
when i first watched these movies i was probably around 5 and i had a little cat. i remember being very invested in the movies, but not overly emotional. now though, after having had that same cat for 17 years? these movies have the power to wreck me.
Nick's reaction to a dog being left on the side of the road in a box made me wince because that's how my dad found our dog, Sherlock: as a puppy, in a box by the side of the highway. It was winter and my dad was driving home and only stopped when he saw the box move. It's messed up, but it's one of those things in the movie that happens periodically in real life.
That's so sad and fuck anyone that would do that. My first dog, Roxy, was a complete surprise for me since she was my first dog ever and when I saw my parents bring her home and my mom holding her, I think I probably cried and never knew until that moment that she was coming home. We lost her in 2018 after five years and I now have two Huskies, Dakota and Savannah, that have a lot of her personality traits and we fell in love with them before we ever got them. They also remind me of my cats--which I lost in 2017 and 2019--and not just because they're sisters. Either way, I love(d) them all so much and I will never understand how someone could abuse/abandon/leave behind etc. any animal like that at all. Thank God your dad was there at the right place and the right time and that your fur baby got a new home. ❤🐶
My golden retriever was a rescue. Not from a shelter, we found her wandering our street with a collar too tight and in need of water. When we found out where she came from, it turned out the owners just turned her out because she was a big dog. Why they didn't think of that when getting the puppy is a mystery but I never hated someone so much in that moment to find out they just threw her to the streets when she was no longer "fun" 😢
Yeah it is really sad. Though I dont think pets as a present is *that bad*, depending on who they are for, but most people dont realize that getting pets for KIDS as a present basically means its YOUR (the parent's) dog not really the kids. Kids have horribly short attention spans when it comes to what they want and dont want.
No CGI dog movie can top movies like this! This is pure Disney gold. I don’t like it as much as the first one because it holds more nostalgia for me and of course it’s the first one. It’s the best. But it’s a proper sequel and I like it.
That's awful! My late dog ended up in the pound one time after getting loose from my sister's house, so thank God we got her back; I had no idea they would torture dogs like that. 😢💔
@@monsterhanna6691 if I am interpreting your response correctly, I think you misunderstood; the pound doesn't torture dogs, they would put them to sleep in a gentle and humane manner; it is "the lab" that the movie (and the original commenter) was referring to that would do experiments/torture on the animals.
Man, I always enjoyed this sequel. It was really nice to see Chance find love in this movie. And it's nice for the original cast from the original reprise their roles.
I think the only one that wasn't reprised was Shadow, I believe the actor who voice acted him in the first movie passed away actually so it is another person doing his voice but hey it doesn't sound far off from the original actor so props for them for really trying to make sure the difference wasn't too much.
You’re literally the only person in the world that I’ve seen reacting to this movie lol. Thanks a lot! :) I’ve loved the Homeward Bound sequel since I was a kid! I think it’s very underrated. Just as good as the first one in my opinion. I love the voice acting for the dogs and Sassy as well, and Delilah is a great character! She’s super cute and funny just like Chance! ^^
The house fire scene always makes me tear up even though they made it out. Probably because my dad saved his mom and siblings when he was 13 and the house caught on fire while his dad was on a business trip. Unfortunately the dog didn't make it despite my dad trying to go back for him. My grandmother wouldn't let him though. That scene always makes me so happy for their family. 💕
As heartbreaking as it is to lose a pet to a house fire, I agree with your grandmother's decision: it is extremely dangerous to enter/reenter a burning building - even in an attempt to save someone else - because there is always the risk that you wouldn't be able to get back out again even if you did reach whoever didn't escape at first, and then maybe neither of you would make it. I had a somewhat similar experience myself several years ago when my next door neighbor's house caught fire; I had to convince her not to go back inside for her cats (which unfortunately didn't make it) because, as I told her, they wouldn't want her to sacrifice herself. That experience actually triggered a terrible fear of house fires in me that I didn't have before which still affects me to this day.
I had both Homeward Bound movies on my IPad as a little kid. Besides that and The Lion King 2, those were the only things I could watch on road trips. So these movies have rooted themselves into my mind. Also, Sassy is honestly one of the most relatable cats in movie history. 💕🥰
Somehow they managed to repeat so many plot points and beats from the first one but without it seeming like a remake. Honestly I can see how the first one is objectively better, but the second one is just so much more rewatchable and has quicker pacing.
I love how genuine your reactions are and how you get so authentically invested in each plot point. Plus, especially with these two movies, how you so hopefully say, " maybe there won't be any narrative conflict, maybe it'll just be family and pet bonding without any traumatic dramatic tension," is just so wholesome.
We actually named our dog Delila because of this movie, she was white as well although looked different, she passed away a few years ago but this movie brings back so many happy memories
As a kid, I liked this movie more than the first one, but after watching them for the first time in years, I do agree that the first one is better, but this one is still good, especially the Chance & Delilah love story. 😍😍😍🐶🐶🐶
I somehow saw the second before the first as a kid, so it was fun seeing the gaps filled in about what had happened that first time. Once I saw the first one I knew it was the better of the two films - it's visually stunning, much more straightforward, and written better, whilst the sequel is a bit more 'kiddified'. But they're both great.
i love these movies 💗 i actually named my dog after Riley (like 10+ years after i watched the movies) because i felt bad about his family abandoning him, i wanted there to be a world where he had a loving human family. even though my Riley is a girl, it still makes me feel better about movie Riley lol.
I'll second this. I didn't see Fluke till a few years after it had released, but I really liked it when I did get around to watching it. I hope Nick checks it out! It's a great follow-up to The Incredible Journey. ^^

(I should probably check and see if you've done them already before making more suggestions, but it's quarter of three in the morning so I'm going to bed)
I love the music for the Homeward Bound movies as well! It’s really heartwarming and beautiful and fun, and thrilling 😊 I own the scores on CD. They’re well worth owning! They really give the movies more magic and emotional depth. And the theme song is one of the best I’ve heard! ❤️
The first one definitely is better but this one is also amazing. My favorite line in this is when Sassy says "I miss his stupid stupidness." Love both of them.
I got to imagine if these movies were made today they'd insist on spending everything on CG to make the dogs actually talk and use generic pop music instead of the score they use. Yet these are still good even though its literally just filming trained dogs doing stuff and talking over the scenes >

While I did enjoy this sequel, I will agree with you that Homeward Bound 1 was a little better. I mean it feels more like a classic than Homeward Bound 2, you know? Still, this sequel has some good things in it too. I definitely plan to hopefully watch both films in the somewhat near future. Well, great job yet again!
I wish they had made a 3rd one. I would've loved to see Chase and Delilah having puppies. When the puppies get adopted by different families, the worried parents (and Sassy, Shadow might be to old to go on another epic trek) go out to find them.

Greetings from Germany..i've only saw both movies in german language. And now i saw your reaction, of course in englisch. And i regocnize the voices of 'Chance' and 'Sassy'.. .it's Michael J Fox & Sally Field...awesome..
@@monsterhanna6691Same! The dog actor is Rattler. It makes so much sense, especially with the paws on the head trick. I can't believe I didn't connect it as a kid.
Another great animal adventure story is Two Brothers (tiger movie) it has an 80% rating on rotten tomatoes. It’s a masterpiece. Id love for you to watch it.
A Dog's Purpose and A Dog's Journey are also great movies for dog lovers. Okay sure, the dog dies over and over but it shows why at the end. That's all I can say without spoiling it. There's a third sequel called A dog's Way Home but there are no deaths in that. Well, apart from brutal slaughtering of a worldwide famous song
Eh the only issue I harbor over those films is that the production are notorious for abusing the dogs they used for that movie but I guess there is an argument to make about any animals used in films. I just remember seeing them throwing and forcing a terrified dog into the water and frantically trying to get out of it and ugh I can't bring myself to watch it.
@@k.h.691 That must have been for the rescue scene. It probably would have been better to have someone in the water and throw something for the dog to retrieve than just throwing it in
@@bloodwolf9017 they were literally forcing the dog to be in the water while it was in distress so yeah. Kind of tarnishes any chance of me watching after seeing that.
Lol why don't the kids just tell there pets it's going to be OK , that there gonna meet them in San Francisco. Then they wouldn't panic. Coz in the first movie they would've learned that there pets worry about them. 😆 but I guess the movie wouldn't have a plot.
Because they were going to canada until chance broke out and got them lost in San Francisco Peter said "This'll be fun." Before they parted in the crates
Chance with that ball at teh start is 100% american bulldog. I can't trust mine at the park without taking multiple balls so he doesn't take OTHER peoples balls.... and it's only balls he's like that about.
This movie unfortunately really suffers from the loss of Don Ameche right after the first one was made. Nothing against Ralph Waite, who was a very fine actor with a bunch of great roles, but his raspier voice just never sounds right, and he isn't able to capture the wise, noble personality that Ameche created.
Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed the reaction! Next up are some surprise movies as well as the second Ice Age movie!
Jojo Rabbit please! 😄

"The Lab" is 100000x worse than the pound. Literally, they experiment on dogs, so a long often painful death is far worse than being put to sleep.

23:22 Bando is such a legend XD
Riley is voiced by Sinbad 😎
Please watch the original Turner and Hooch with Tom Hanks.
Or K-9
Yes please watch the original the remake sucks
I remember the first part i watched in english gymnazium.
In the theme of pet movies, I really hope you do a reaction to ‘Fluke’. It’s quite different from a lot of these but still is very good.
And that beginning oh..where oh where oh where is shadow..
Greetings from Germany..i've only saw both movies in german language. And now i saw your reaction, of course in englisch. And i regocnize the voices of 'Chance' and 'Sassy'..
.it's Michael J Fox & Sally Field...awesome..
You should watch,
Land Before Time
Balto
Scooby Doo On Zombie Island
Batman Mask Of The Phantasm
Air Bud
The first one is definitely better than this one, but I still enjoyed it as a kid
18:06 I really hated this scene. When you see a puppy in a Christmas basket, you shed tears of joy and you love it. That kid was a little prick.
Fun Fact Chance plays the dog Petey in The Little Rascals (1994)
I always thought they looked the same! 😂😍🐶
@@monsterhanna6691Same! The dog actor is Rattler. It makes so much sense, especially with the paws on the head trick. I can't believe I didn't connect it as a kid.
Fivel goes west soon?
wonderful ending for chance, he gets jamie, delia and pizzzzaaaa
25:21 if i ever catch my dog eating garbage i wouldn’t be too happy at all
Another great animal adventure story is Two Brothers (tiger movie) it has an 80% rating on rotten tomatoes. It’s a masterpiece. Id love for you to watch it.
The first movie had such strong characters that it didn’t need a villain. In this one we get two cliched villain duos for the price of one 🙄
I think he mentioned he's seen those.
@@ApricityGlow Does he mention seeing 101 Dalmations? The live action with Glenn Close
Because animals don't understand, just like with Shadow not understanding that Peter was gonna see him in a couple weeks. 😂
Chance with that ball at teh start is 100% american bulldog.
I can't trust mine at the park without taking multiple balls so he doesn't take OTHER peoples balls.... and it's only balls he's like that about.
Nice hair cut, Nick
Dogs don’t swet LOL
yes they do, just through their paws lol

This movie unfortunately really suffers from the loss of Don Ameche right after the first one was made. Nothing against Ralph Waite, who was a very fine actor with a bunch of great roles, but his raspier voice just never sounds right, and he isn't able to capture the wise, noble personality that Ameche created.
My childhood 😢
oh how about stuart little and the sequel?!!?
Oh yeah Shadow is a Recue survive Dog hands down and Paws down
Not as good as the first, but still a worthy sequel 😁
Yay ace films both of them
Do monsters inc it’s a cute movie and toy story 4 is a good movie
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😉
