I've always enjoyed this sequel and not just because of the dinosaurs. I love that Manny gets a second chance of being a father.

When i was a child i always thought that in this cave drawing "retrospection" it was Manny who was the baby mammoth. Now I know that's not true but being honest both versions are powerful and emotional.

Well, Sid did a pretty great job taking care of the Baby in the first Ice Age.
That was more like a babysitter thing he did to Roshan since they did have to return it. It’s different here since Sid thought he was gonna keep the Dinos for himself.
Hunny dont worry about it and dont pay attention to negative comments. There is not one person in this world that knows everything so if there is something you dont know dont feel bad about it because you just gained a piece of knowledge right there and there is absolutely nothing with a man expressing his emotions. Pure love right here 💜

Don't worry about those comments. People need to realize that everyone has vastly different experiences growing up, and being exposed to certain characters is not a universal experience when growing up.

I doubt anyone meant their disbelief maliciously, it’s a shock that things you originally thought were universal or popular enough to be known even without context is the opposite and I’m pretty sure it was a bit of awe struck surprise yk?
6:47 It's played just as starvation in this movie, but in reality Diego was facing a much greater problem in my perspective. Based on their build, we believe smilodons (saber-toothed cats) were like modern lions in that they were adapted to ambushing their prey in short bursts of running- that and their long fangs were suited to catching and killing slow bulky prey. However, as time went on, herbivores became lighter and faster, and predators like smilodons wouldn't have been able to keep up in long chases, making it harder for them to survive. In other words, because of evolution, Diego and his kind could and would have starved into extinction if this movie didn't offer a quick fix.
Please consider watching the following ones too, it's so nice to rediscover them with you!
Buck is my favourite new character, I absolutely love him and Simon Pegg did an AMAZING job with his voice!! I cannot wait for you to see the 4th, its a personal fave out of the entire series!

For the song portion the acorn being it’s own character for a while was genius! I loved how at the end it cracked showing that it’s “heart” had broken after Scrat ran off with his girl. Oh and this is easily my favorite Ice Age movie- Peaches is the best payoff of any of them in my humble opinion.

They should've stopped after the fourth one because the fourth one at least had a reason to exist. It would've been enough to stop after this and pack it up, but I'm glad they decided to make a bold decision and do a comparison from how the trio handled their situation from the first movie in comparison to how they handled it in the fourth one.

One film I'd recommend is horton hears a who! An adaptation of the DR Seuss book with the same name By blue sky the ice age creators it's one of those rare good book adaptations.
Also scrat’s girlfriend is named scratte. And if you wanna see peaches’ teen years I’d recommend ice age 4 Continental drift. I wouldn’t worry about missing ice age 5 though no one seemed to like it that much.
I kinda hoped they'd touch more on Manny's first family and having him open up about it since I imagine he'd have some trauma there.

@@raffaelj7846 He didn't say "it's an animated movie" he said "it's a kids movie." Not all animated movies are targeted solely towards kids, and even if they are, doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed by adults, but this series is definitely targeted for a younger audience overall and it shows quite a bit in the more recent films.

Even though some idiots only judge it because it has pirates because "there were no pirates in the phreistoric period". I mean it's an animated movie. They would be boring if they were faithful to the real life logic and physics. The concept of pirates in Ice Age seems cheesy at first but they managed to make it cool and clever. Gutt was an actually threatening villain and despite he was the first Ice Age villain to be funny he still managed to be creepy and to raise the stakes of the movie. I even worried for Manny, Sid, Diego, Granny and the others even though i knew they would'nt kill the main characters. In my opinion, he and Rudy are the scariest Ice Age villains

If you remember from the very first movie, when they go into the big cave, and sid sees all of the frozen dinosaurs, you actually get to see Rudy when he’s still frozen. I find that fun

Honestly based on what you've enjoyed so far, I'm pretty sure you'd have a good time with Ice Age 4. Don't know about #5 since I haven't seen it. But definitely do whatever feels best for you!
#5 isn't necessarily terrible, in fact if it were a single movie instead of part of the ice age franchise people would probably love it. However since the other 4 movies were just SO good, our expectations for the 5th one were just too high. Still a cute family film though :))

Not sure if anyone's said this to you, but there's going to be an upcoming Ice Age spinoff movie about Buck. The Adventures of Buck Wilde, I think it's called.
Yeah, but even though we got some interesting updates lately (like that the composer is a co-composer named Batu Sener that is a student of John Powell, that composed Ice Age 2, 3 and 4 and that the movie is gonna be directed by John C. Donkin that is one of the executive producers of the Ice Age movies) but i am a bit pissed that we still don't have a trailer yet. I am curious to see which actor joins the cast, the new characters that will probably join Buck in the movie and if Manny, Sid, Diego and the others make a cameo (even though we all know Scrat will make a cameo like he did in Sid's own short film Surviving Sid)

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad if you did a reaction to the next ice age movie. You get to see peaches at a teen and it has one of my fav characters introduced. The other one after goes kind of crazy like in space crazy.

I've only just discovered your channel and just a few videos in, but one movie I do recommend is Balto. The soundtrack is beautiful. Some of the visuals are pretty stunning, too.

I knew you'd like this one. Also Buck kinda gives Jack Sparrow vibes in case you've seen Pirates of the Caribbean. Unlike other I would recommend to watch 4th and 5th movie. Also just to let you know, Buck will return in 5th movie.

Honestly, Buck was my favorite character in this film and became my favorite throughout the Ice Age series
I'm glad you liked this movie. This one is one of my favorites (I specifically remember watching on repeat once...In retrospect I feel bad for my parents XD). Buck is definitely one of my favorite parts about this movie (given he's a character type I enjoy). He's such a fun character, and I love the like rivalry he has with Rudy. How even though Rudy clearly tries to kill him, Buck still enjoys the adventure and thrill, and clearly has somewhat of an attachment to the dinosaur. It's a really nice character depth, especially with how he offhandedly mentioned how lonely he'd been down there.
I also agree in that I loved the arcs from both Sid and Diego.

I enjoyed part 4 COntinental Drift, part 5 can be divisive and can be a bit over the top if you're not used to stretching the plot give at least 4 a try!

Honestly thats exactly what made me start watching you, the fact that you can look at these movies with the mindset of innocence and not thinking about them with the logic of an adult. Tbh, I enjoyed watching the 4th one, it's pretty good in my opinion but it's your choice to react to it or not cause I don't mind. You don't have to apologize for being honest, that's what we're here for, to watch a movie with someone who can look at things with that childlike innocence and openness of the mind so few of us still retain. For me, I've recently taken to enjoying reaction videos because what with the lockdown it's the only way for me to find something the resembles a trip to the theater, and your videos are quick to become my favorites.

I personally would love a reaction to the 4th movie. There’s a time jump, Peaches is a teen. And Sid gets a plot line of his own (plus my favorite side character in all the films, played by Wanda Sykes.)
ok i just gotta throw this out there. Do not apologize for not knowing something. ITS OKAY TO NOT KNOW! We learn throughout our whole lives, and theres always something new to see or hear. No one lives the same life as the other person, you cant expect everyone to know what you do. Not everyone watched every kids' movie or cartoon when they were young, we come from different places and different environments and will experience different things :))))
