Greatest song ever written, sung or recorded…
I had to have a small chuckle when you said that it was obvious that he died have watched so many young reactors that don't get the meaning of this song
Todays generation have lack of common sense lol
Alan Jackson sang this at George's funeral. My favorite cover of this heartbreaking song.
He definitely nailed it
George recorded the number 1 saddest country love song in all of music.
Alan Jackson sang this at George’s funeral, it was very moving. It’s on RUclips.
George Jones, was well known for his sad ballad's, heartbreak and drinking song's as he called them sad slopping tear jerkers, he'd done this type of music for all his fifty some yrs. In country music, as far as I'm concerned there was nobody better than him, and I listen to the real country music singers from the 50's-90's there is no traditional country music now. This is more Pop Rock, then country as it's called today. I would like to request a song by George Jones, called "THE GRAND TOUR", A great song THANKS
Yes Grand Tour!
Who's going to fill their shoes, by George, is sad,but in another way
The late Tom T. Hall, one of the greatest country songwriters ever, knew everybody in Nashville. He once said he never knew a country singer who didn't wish he could sing like George Jones. You two are much younger than I am, but I'm truly enjoying your reactions, especially to the country songs I've been listening to all my life. Keep up the good work. In a wide assortment of polls involving fans and country DJs, this song has been voted the greatest country song of all time. Guess it depends on what mood you're in.
This song was rated the best country song of all time. He was know by many as the best country singer ever. This song also saved George’s career
If you want a sad one check out Alyssa lies by Jason Micheal Carroll
Ironically, George thought the song was too sad to be a hit. LOL.
1980… He’s a legendary icon & he won a Grammy 2 years in a row for it…It took over a hundred takes just for the opening line bc he was so drunk…George Jones is the man
Window up Above is a good one for a throw back
Chances are your favorite singer’s favorite singer is George Jones. You should try and find out why!
Try "Dont take the girl" or "Three wooden crosses".
This is Jones’s big song, but he did many great songs before it. Check some of the stuff he did with Melba Montgomery
If you want a sad song, check out Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss - Whiskey Lullaby 😢
Another SAD song of GJ's is The Grand Tour 😢😢😢
added to the list, thx
Saddest song I have ever heard is Monsters by James Blunt! Check that one out!
The original is better the live version is ok but the original is the best 1
Listen to “the little girl” by John Michael Montgomery and then you will have heard the saddest song ever
Keith Urban 🤦🤦give me a break. He stopped loving her today is the greatest country song of all time.
The studio version is definitely better IMO. The flourishes George sings during the live performances throw off the timing and distract from the performance.
