Its remarkable. Really sometimes even shocking the power of his voice blended with the notes he hitting. There's nothing like it on our planet.. we ,the fans carrying his spectacular legacy till the end of time.
70s Elvis was the best! So many, many incredible songs and performances. It’s such a shame more people don’t know his 70s body of work, it’s breathtaking. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏s. A lovely day to all.
Thanks Nick I don't know why any of the time when you send put up a video it pops up for me to see Sunday the 12th it didn't That's why I thought you were sick That's why I said I hope you get well soon and I happen to find it but I was looking through different videos and yours showed up and I found it and watched it that way but it didn't pop up and I don't know why but thanks for sending it to me so I could see it it was none of my other stuff that pops up and usually you pop up thanks again and God bless
Excellent reaction. As you say, there is no one like him and never will be again. His voice just seemed to get more and more powerful as he got older, even though his body was failing. Elvis forever ❤
I have no words to explain what sadness I felt when listening to the live version. You did a fantastic job with this reaction. I have heard it before and I could feel the pain in his voice.
Happy Elvis Sunday.....however it's Lisa Marie's death date. Cant believe it's been 2 years since her passing. 💔😇 That voice!! Great reaction! Great song. So darn powerful and everyone on that stage is just MAGICAL!!! TCB ⚡👑🌹 Hope you had a great birthday Nick. Thank you for everything!!!
Thank you for reacting to "It's Midnight." The emotion in Elvis's voice really hits home because so many of us have 'been there.' One of my favorite songs albeit so sad. Elvis had so many great songs in the 1970's; it's a real shame they didn't get the radio play that his earlier recordings did.
This brings tears to my eyes. He’s such a wonderful, wonderful singer and that little idiot sitting down in the first row sitting there chatting away, doesn’t pay any attention to him singing. I can’t take my eyes off him for one second and talk to somebody else when he’s singing like thisI love him.
Absolutely no one could sing anything like he did -- it wasn't only the voice but the emotion he put into songs that no one, so far, has ever done. Getting a best version is difficult for a # of reasons. The "official" Elvis channel does not mean it's the best. Same thing goes for relying on others who may not have the best, or even know what is the best. I have a suggestion regarding Greensboro, NC, instead of doing a comparison for one song: maybe you can do these 2 from that same Greensboro 1972 concert for a total of 5:40 min. -- "Burning Love" holding the lyric sheet ruclips.net/video/sx7I4DfUGM4/видео.html & "Release Me" ruclips.net/video/OJY5Lah-aEg/видео.html -- this is where it kind of sounds like the audience is singing along after he says "chug-a-lug baby" but I could be very wrong. Have a nice week.
Beautiful song, yes he did say that at the beginning of the song, another great reaction Nick, please react to LOVE ME,LOVE THE LIFE I LEAD AND LOVE COMING DOWN,👌❤️❤️
I'd heard that he said listen Cilla because she was talking through his performance and he was annoyed that she was talking through the performance of his new song
Oh that Heavenly beautiful beautiful Elvis voice - oh how it just thrills you and flows over your heart and soul from soft velvety moving tones like gentle ripples on water quickly surging into powerful waves of passion and emotional turmoil and agony - it just mesmerizes you - takes your breath away and well like you said leaves you speechless!!! This is the phenomenon of Elvis making every song he sings his own and making you not just hear the lyrics but feel every word deep within heart and soul leaving you stunned to the point where you never want to hear it from anyone else ever again!! Only Elvis Presley can do that -Only Elvis!!!Thank you Nick and Happy New Year!
One of my favourites today Nick thank you! No one could interpret a song like Elvis. His pain is palpable when he sings this. The 2nd performance is wildly emotive. He obviously loves and misses his 'cilla, but he's also angry, as can be heard at 9:38 min mark in this video. People always talk about the listen cilla comment but miss the 2nd comment.. You're 100% right! There's no one like him
His voice soars with emotions along with the backup singers , band and orchestra .I feel the pain in his voice....beautiful yet so very sad...thank you Nick for another thoughtful reaction.
The power, depth and emotion in his voice is indescribable. Such and amazing talent. I've only recently become aware of this song, however, every time I hear it, I get goosebumps. Your reaction is so true and genuine. I do love the live version, there just seems to be a deeper layer to his voice. I agree with you after he says Listen Cilla, the words do take on a new meaning. His voice never failed him, in fact I think it got better as he got older. Happy birthday to you Nick for last week. Sending thoughts to all the people in California
I love the live version for the passion and the soul, saying that it's amazing how Elvis was mostly better live than on vinyl, which is a rarity nowadays. A point of interest for me is how he gave a shoutout to Cilla, having officially divorced her in 73, but during this time, 74, he was dating. Linda Thomson who he had met in 1972 Also, I have to agree: once you are a fan of Elvis, it makes you very critical of all other music and artists, always comparing to Elvis's talent and finding that nothing or no one really comes close
One of his best performances!!! I’ve heard this song hundreds of times but watching your reaction gave the song a whole new meaning! Keep up the great work Nick! I always look forward to watching your reactions on Sunday!
And Yes Nick, Priscilla was there, sitting in a booth just in front of the stage, they had been Divorced about a year. 💔 The song It’s Midnight was written by Billy Edd Wheeler and Jerry Chesnut, and was an original recording by Elvis Presley in 1974.
I saw Elvis perform this song live at the Las Vegas Hilton during his August 1974 engagement, I saw his Dinner show on August 24, 1974… I was 16. Thank you keeping Elvis’ music alive. A very sad sad I don’t think he ever performed live, if he did I’d love to hear it , anyway the song is “Mama Liked The Roses.” Thank you again and take care.
"Listen 'Cilla" that comment belies the stories we often hear (including from Priscilla herself) that Elvis didn't love her. At this point in Elvis' life, he really wasn't interested in doing Rock & Roll songs, but was more into ballads, such as this one. Pushing 40, health issues cropping up and losing his wife & daughter put him in a different frame of mind. Another great review.
I've got the CD so definitely I've heard it before and I love it I love the CD I hope you put out a video on January the 12th and I hope this one's it because I don't see any and I hope you're okay so if you're sick I'll be praying for you take care and God bless 🙏
The beginning and the softer passages are really good, but then you get so that overblown Vegas bombastic syrupy middle part and it kinda kills the whole thing. The flip side of the original 45rpm is miles above this side!!! 😊
Thanks Nick, another beautiful song, the second version is necessarily better because he sang it in front of the woman he loved despite the divorce , the passion and strength he puts into singing are uniquely engaging. Long live Elvis 👑🎶🎸❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
He called out Shila's name. That is a short name for Priscilla in one of his performances on the stage. This very emotional and powerful message. This is after their divorce. 😢
I'd like to note something regarding Burning Love. There is another version that just popped up but it is done as various different pieces put together & some multi-screen & jumping around, so I hope if you get to this song that you will do the version I had given you from Greensboro holding his lyric sheet. Thanks so much.
@@PopularTripeNick Maybe I didn't see it on the list but I was referring to the Greensboro '72 version with lyric sheet which is ruclips.net/video/sx7I4DfUGM4/видео.html. Thanks.
Thanks, it was right near the beginning I think. I think you may have sent me this link previously as I just went to add it to my list and it was already there! 😎
@@PopularTripeNick Ok. At the top of the list it said something like "some titles are hidden." I get that every once in awhile & have no idea why. Thanks for letting me know.
Ah, I think that might be videos that got added to the playlist that were either blocked at a later date or I added to the list and then had to re-edit and reupload due to a copyright issue. I don’t think anything is missing anymore as far as I’m aware. I remember ‘How Great Thou Art’ suddenly not being there for a time, but think it’s back now.
Hi Nick, it sounds to me like you've stumbled across a link that was playing actual the single version which unfortunately doesn't have the best audio quality but once again thanks for another great video.
I wondered as much. This is what comes from not listening to them beforehand so I can give a genuine first reaction. I normally try to source from others that have uploaded rather than the official Elvis channel, so I can be reasonably sure that the video wont get blocked…
@@PopularTripeNick Nick, you are doing a great job picking the best quality and you have found many songs I never heard before. Keep up the good work.💕💕💕👍
@@PopularTripeNick No problem Nick, I love your work on Elvis and yes it's a much better experience for us viewers if it's genuinely your first time hearing the track, I only mentioned it as I thought that you may like to find a better source to have a proper listen.
This is wild! I just found the 1963 doo-wop version of "Unchained Melody" ruclips.net/video/AbIE6pqdvQs/видео.html by Vito & The Salutations. Totally unrecognizable. And weird considering it was meant for the prison film "Unchained" (a barely known film from '55). I'm mentioning it not for you to upload but if you want to listen in your own time. I don't know why, but I had to laugh 1/2 way through it. My interest peaked & found out that approx. 670 singers did it, one being Harry Belafonte & opera singer Todd Duncan. So it goes to show the power & magnetism of Elvis & how he literally took songs to such a level that they became hits & known throughout the world.
Beautiful song and great delivery by EP. Just be clear.....this song was not sung for ex-wife P'zilla. People need to stop putting feelings, emotions and intentions into Elvis' mouth, mind, and heart to suit their ignorance. He mentions P'zilla for not paying attention during this performance....typical of it.
I like this song. But I don't like the backup singers in this one. And I don't like whoever is harmonizing with him in the live version; I suspect it's Charlie Hodge. I can't tell you why, I just never liked it. Through the years, I've heard two versions of the Cilla reference. Priscilla was in the audience and some believe he's singing to her. But he had a girlfriend present, so that would be really insensitive. The other story I heard was that Priscilla was busy talking to a friend and Elvis was, in effect, telling her to shut up and listen to him. Who really knows?
His voice is fantastic for sure. No one can match it.
Excellent heartfelt reaction. 👏 👏 👏
This has become one of my favourit songs ,just that power of his voice gives me ghoosbumps
