The paying customers mentioned are those who didn't already run away.
For me the Ashoka trailer and reviews of the early episodes was the end. I watched the reviews on Andor, claiming it was good, but I didn't care anymore since it is part of a broken franchise.

Critics aren't paid but some do get VIP treatment to visit the studio. That's audience not customers as there's a bunch of people review bombing without even watching the show.
We need to start a campaign to support the renewal of a second season. We all want to see Leslye's incompetence for another 8 episodes so that this mistake is so bad its effect and result will be felt even harder - plus Disney losing another $180 million to learn their lesson.

A few years ago I was pissed at Disney for what they are doing to Star Wars and MCU.
But now, I generally smile and want them to fail and want them to lose more money. That is my new entertainment from Disney, their downfall

My favorite part in episode 5 is when the Jedi's light saber fizzles out on smylo-ren's helmet and he simply stops right in the middle of combat, tapping his saber like it was a flashlight. Yeah, people just stop fighting when their weapon fails......

I also wondered if the Jedi similarly forgot completely about Sith. Granted it's been a while since they saw one but they were mortal enemies since ancient times aka the Great Hyperspace War etc. Just odd they have no concept of the Dark side at all.

Well let's see what the viewership is and if any subscribers signed up because of this show. It's all about the numbers. It's possible the show is so bad it's good that people will sign-up to check it out.

Dear Steve: I CAN tell you the show is bad. The plot and characters are still terrible even when the fight choreographers earn their paychecks. Both things can be true at the same time.

Nothing much happened in Andor and nothing much ever happens in House of the Dragon, but we love those shows due to the quality of the writing and the caliber of the acting.
Plus add very high quality of production but that's about sums it up.
I didn’t love Andor.
I didn’t like Book Of Boba Fett, Obi Wan, Ashoka, or the last season of Mandalorian. I’m not over-keen on Acolyte either. But I was at least able to watch them without falling asleep.
But Andor bored the balls off me. I couldn’t tell you what happens after the first 10 minutes of episode one because I just couldn’t concentrate because it just bored me! It’s not as if the main character was someone I cared about either.
Disney seemed to make the same mistake with Cassian Andor that they made with Poe Damaron. They thought they were really interesting characters that everyone would take to their heart like they did with Han Solo. But I don’t think many did. I thought Andor was the least interesting character in the whole of Rogue One and couldn’t understand how he got his own show. I gave it a try. But I found it dull. And it didn’t feel like Star Wars. It’s the only Star Wars series I’ve never bothered to watch all the way through. Maybe I’ll give it another try some day.

To be fair its a fair point about Andor, he is not a really interesting character. But I thoroughly enjoyed the show for other reasons. The superb writing of the characters and their dialogues, the outstanding acting, finally some peek into how the Empire works on a day to day basis, really high production value of the show ( lots of practical stuff and locations ), watching how the Rebellion coming to life, and the few but quality action scenes that were sprinkled throughout.
If you compare it to the Acolyte that had 4 episodes less, about the same budget and its an utter trainwreck that feels like was written by very angry and confused pre-teens, breaks established lore 2-3 times / episode on average and the acting quality ( with the exception of the squid games guy ) is on the level of a bad high school play.
I agree that I was one of those who really enjoyed the politics In the prequels and would be happy to watch a show of Tenebrous and Plagueis working towards to execute the grand finale.

This was the best episode of the five. Having said that, it still had major flaws. Moths? Need I say more? Yord was lightsabered and then proceeded to run through the forest/jungle with no difficulty....tons of other things.

The solution is really, really simple. Make programs with an even mix of male, female and different skin colours who are all as equally good or bad as each other, and just tell a good story with no agendas.

Hire a writer from Andor, someone with some talent that knows what they're doing. That's the last chance to save what's left of star wars, which is on life support.
All I hope is that the acolyte is removed from the Wookiepedia Canon and all put into Legends. That’s the only way I see this could work.
Um, the Acolyte season I believe has been truncated. Instead of 2-3, this is it and no spin offs.
Mediocre, the lightsabre battle...dark, average to sub par choreography. Never mind the first live action introduction of a helmet with the cortosis weave material that disrupts lightsabres, plot armour for the 'Sith' was in effect when he was fighting 8-10 jedi with a lightsaber.
The set which is now one use, it appears to be cheap set that might have been used in either the classic Star Trek series or Space 1999.
Unlike Kenobi or Andor, when this comes out on steelbook no one is paying 45.99-49.99 for this. This won't even sell in the bargain bucket.

I totally agree with you that this fight scene is just brutal and not a good one. It features a lot of nonsensical moves, strange choreography, and illogical camera angles. And by the Force, how can a Master spare a Sith to continue fighting even after he has destroyed all his companions? This movie throws all the lore of Star Wars into the bin!

I have been reading and watching Star Wars for decades and their amazing diverse history. When George Lucas and his company writers created Star Wars he wanted a diverse group of people and aliens. Include many characters from other the universe. He was not thinking about race, sexuality, gender, or pronounce. It was like this from 1970s up until he sold LucasFilms. Which I am sorry to say was not smart selling it to Disney. This ideology and political agenda stuff has only become a thing in the last 5-10 years. George Lucas and his team was a amazing group of craters that just loved making comics, books, and movies as they create amazing decades of stories that were always very diverse.
Now before you get your shorts in a knot. I am a gay man that was amazed at the beauty in the well written stories and amazing artwork. None of this ideology ever entered my mind. I see people as people and Fantasy as Fantasy. I was raised by my cherokee mom and german dad to ignore skin color and judge a person by their actions. If any of us kids heard racial slurs of any kind we never let that person be apart of our lives. Now I hear people using slurs like candy to everyone, accusing people of toxic feminist man hating, misogynist, racist, sexist, & bigotry over badly written stories and poor acting skills. George Lucas has thousands of characters from his books, comics, and movies. Actors and Actresses that were Black, Native American, Asian, Indian,Whites, Pacific Islands, Played or voiced Aliens and more.. So why is the race, gender, and sexuality card being played over characters when they at anytime can pull in any of these characters from the thousands in the Star Wars lore. Oh wait I forgot they need their ideology and political social agenda is more important then writing a decades rich story that could be used for a movie or streaming. All from Movies and TV. Amazing women and powerful actresses. But they want to use their politcal social agenda to accuse and call people names because they did not like the Movie or Shows that are badly written with poor acting. It is as if the dark side has manifested itself in the form of this lackluster endeavor, a Death Star obliterating all hope for a coherent narrative. To say this show is trash would be an understatement worthy of a bantha's indifference. My midichlorians shudder at the thought of enduring such an assault on the senses. Well..... in the prequels the Jedi were just stodgy, old, religious rule followers that sucked.... but the writing was terrible there as well.
Ah yes the ‘epic’ fight scene of a PADAWAN who two episodes earlier was using a wooden stick now some how holds off a SITH LORD that just annihilated a bunch of Jedi MASTERS in seconds… I don’t care how cool the fight is, what’s being shown on screen is entirely out of character and doesn’t make sense beyond ‘it looks cool’. You’d need to be blitzed out of your gourd or a few IQ points from being brain dead to think this is quality television.
The whole show lacks any consistency story wise. I wouldn’t watch Star Wars to just watch fight scenes, it’s supposed to have an entertaining plot, moving storyline, lovable characters coupled with great action sequences. This show is all over the place and only appeals to someone who just needs their dopamine fix of flashy lights music and cgi effects. Beyond that it’s trash.
Perhaps the poor literacy of younger generations and their lack of exposure to quality entertainment from previous generations is why people are enjoying it. Perhaps they have little sense of what makes truly good cinema. Either way, I’m not down for the continued lowering of standards

Dark scenes are the most annoying part of movies.
It does not actually help set the scene or mood.
It is only designed to fudge poor special effects and provide an excuse to cut costs.
That's one of the major reasons why we have given up on current movies in general. (It seems to have started in the 90s.)
