Improved Railway Stations 6. Improving Ticketing System Overall 7. Separate lines for Cargo Trains and Passenger Trains 8. Proper fencing around all railway tracks to avoid cattle 12. Skilled staff and skilled workers to be hired These are some steps which can highly improve the efficiency of Indian Railways! And according to me these should be implemented by the 2035 in order to become highly self reliant and to have a improved system of Railways in India! Besides all these older coaches and engines should be retired finally these are some of the powerful coaches but it’s time to increase the frequency of the trains rather than carrying 1000’s of passengers at a single time! Quality over Quantity is required now!
I don't think we will give any importance to quality. And maintenance of tracks and platforms by keeping it clean. Charge hefty fines for spitting and littering.
How about adding double decker coaches to our inventory list a lot of european trains have these kind of coaches and it is very much practical for our situation , as there are some instances when the trains are cancelled and the ticket checkers take in bribes to add extra people into the normal sleeper coaches.... if it was double decker it would be better not only for this situation but also for general compartment , who have to travel in horrible conditions .......
The Chad WCAM3 at the start 00:01 made my day. The Toyotas of Mumbai Division of Central Railway. Robust, reliable, low maintenance, and go anywhere as long as the tracks are electrified, be it DC or AC. They'll always remain one of the favourite locomotives of Bombay Railfans.
I still remember when we used to cross railway lines ..and when we saw the trains coming ..it felt scary ...it dosent matter whether it is square OT pointy
Open windows, Open doors, gap between coaches cause much more drag than locomotive front. Just fixing these issue might result significant improvements in fuel efficiency.
Also to add, extended nose would also work as a safety feature with crumple zones, and keeps the driver much away from the front, as compared to flat front.
#AskPT isn't most of locomotive around the world are like that with little to less incline, the locos of america and Europe are same as the Indian locos but more sleek because of the better build quality. Most of the aerodynamic trains are mostly high-speed trains like shinkansen and vande bharat, which are completely coupled to each other for better aerodynamics. There are train set with power cars at the end (TGV and Acela, they are not emus) but they are also completely coupled to the trains, so i think instead of wasting resources on aerodynamic locomotive we should have more EMUs like vande bharat.
Its not only about aerodynamics on the Loco, the Airflow along the entire consist must be fixed i.e. there are be wind vortex between the bogies which needs to be fixed.
#AskPT I have heard many times that we don't have the tracks to run high speed trains, we need advancement in tracks. I want to know what type of upgradation we actually need. Since every other country has the same type of iron made tracks, concrete made sleepers than what we need actually???
The difference isn't that big actually. Most of India's railways have broad gauge tracks, to support more space and weight. Meanwhile in Europe, they use standard gauge tracks, which allow trains to travel at higher speeds. Along with that is the maintenance of the tracks. Since India has the 3rd largest railway network, it would take decades to upgrade the tracks, whereas European countries have small landmasses, so maintenance isn't as expensive or expansive. I can say this as I currently live in Germany, and have travelled in bullet trains of Germany, Spain and Italy.
Welded tracks with no gaps in between to reduce wear & tear of wheels. To prevent buckling due to thermal expansion in summer the tracks should be per-stressed. Moreover angular joints to be provided at places.
Also, high speed rail network is made without any curves, so a straight line. Also they are made in a separate rail track in Japan which also had a different rail track before bullet train ( narrow gauge). We need to build a completely separate track for high speed that is why it is always expensive and takes time. Europe and Japan built theirs decades ago and hence we can now see their extensive network.

If Indian Railways improve their signaling system in a way so that the trains don't have to slow down/stop every 10-15 min, that itself would reduce travel time drastically. So rather than focusing on aerodynamic trains, IR should first make it possible for trains to run at 80-90 kmph (with required speed reduction at curves) for at least 40-45 minutes.
do you know why train delays happen? Almost all our tracks if not all have gone above and beyond their train capacity. Some lines have gone as much as 150% the amount of trains the tracks were built to handle. Thats why govt is building seperate tracks just for goods train. Average speed of goods train in our country is 25kmph. Usain bolt's top speed is 43.99 kilometers per hour. Almost 2x the speed of our average goods train. Its a joke currently. You are comparing Indian locomotives with trainsets from other countries like ICE, TGV, Shinkansen, etc. These are EMU like trainsets with traction motors on multiple coaches (much like our own VB trainsets). bhai yeh Indian trains k bogies and locomotive niche aur side se covered kyun nahi hote aur overall design 1960-70s ka kyun hai 😒.
Hamari trains niche se khuli kyu hoti he? Jab ki dusre deso ki trains me Aesa nahi hota vo trains niche se coverd hoti he Aesa kyu?
🛑🛑why don't we run ac local instead of metro so that we can carry more people at a time 🛑🛑
to think about aerodynamics you need to have a considerable speed....
They usually have very less avg speed around 50kmph so having good aerodynamic design is just a waste of money 😅
कम गति में भी हवा तीव्र विरोध करती है।
Aerodynamic locomotives or trainset looks like dolphin or shark face 😂. Jokes apart but we don't need them now until speed upgradation
VB Sleeper train election ke pahle launch hoga😅
