Yeah I recently watched a video they explained why it is much cheaper for same brands with same labour rate to produce goods in China compare to India. It all start with first location of the factory like which state they are in, water, electricity price, then some states charge extra paperwork just to annoy center government, if cargo pass between multiple states and government of the state is not friendly they also create problems, charge extra, more paperwork. the main focus was on transport same company in China setup a company at the same distance as in India and the trouble they went though can be bearable but problem start when same distance take about 7weeks more in India to ship products from company to the ports and then ports take additional days sometime months to load cargo and that product end up late around 3months than Chinese products and add more cost. In China cargo train travel above 60, our average speed will be 25 and on that delays and like he said it is ok for us to say 18 hours delays is nothing, so they make then ship cheaper faster products than us. If we want india to be superpower cargo delivery and ship turnaround time have to be reduced than China

So, in freight, time almost doesn't matter as long as you get the steady supply of Goods delivered as efficiently as possible. Although, you may hit one point where time really matters but it's not much. While in Passenger Trains, even reaching 8hrs faster means more productivity, that doesn't apply in Freight trains.

Turn around time in india is already comparable with China, in some ports its even faster. It has improved a lot in past 5-10 years.
