    Timberborn’s features:
    Mankind turned Earth into a dry wasteland and perished, but some species adapted and evolved. Pick one of the beaver factions and see how long your colony can last!
    Beaver societies
    Control one of two beaver factions: the nature-friendly Folktails or the industrious Iron Teeth. Each faction has a unique style, buildings, and gameplay traits. Choose what fits your playstyle.
    Wet and dry seasons
    Prepare your settlement for recurring droughts. Stockpile on food and keep fields and forests alive even after rivers dry up. Rely on both natural water sources and artificial irrigation to keep the land arable.
    River control
    Beavers of the future have millennia of experience in water engineering. Put up dams and floodgates, dig canals with explosives, and redirect rivers to bring life back to the wasteland. Just be careful with that dynamite.
    Lumberpunk
    Turn timber into sophisticated machinery - from water wheels and sawmills to engines and shredders. Wood is the core resource in Timberborn, but the most advanced structures require metal. To find it, send your scavengers to the ruins of the old world.
    Vertical architecture
    Create a thriving beaver settlement using a vertical architecture system. Space is limited, so stack lodges and workshops on top of each other, construct platforms and bridges, and set up a power grid for your growing population.
    Day and night cycle
    Build a multi-district city with efficient production chains and nighttime activities. Follow the lives of individually simulated inhabitants throughout their day and celebrate when the next generation is born!
    Wellbeing
    An evolved beaver's lifestyle is not just "work, sleep and chomp on wood". Satisfy the needs of your rodents with a balanced diet, decorations, monuments, and more - on top of keeping the colony alive.
    Map editor
    Play on one of the included maps or create your own and share it with the community! With hills of different heights, ruins scattered in the desert, and all life depending on access to water, each map poses a different challenge.
    Timberborn allows the player to run a beaver colony of the nature-friendly Folktails or the industrious Iron Teeth. Each faction boasts unique architecture and plays differently thanks to exclusive buildings such as windmills, engines or cloning facilities. Their common goal is to survive and expand in a world hit by recurring, ever harsher dry seasons. Tools at the beavers’ disposal include dams, floodgates, irrigation and the ability to build advanced cities of wood and metal where buildings are stacked atop one another.
    Mechanistry developers are proud of how much they have implemented in the game, entering Early Access after three years of development.
    “The two beaver factions play completely different but both make good use of Timberborn’s unique take on the city-building genre - here, water engineering with dams and water physics dictates the success. As one would expect from a beaver game, the wood industry is a key player too but it’s not just about sawmills and lodges - Timberborn colonies grow vertically, layer by layer, with platforms and bridges. Finally, there’s the post-apocalyptic aspect with an underlying threat of deadly droughts that hit harder and harder, threatening to reclaim the beaver lands” - says Bartlomiej Dawidow, Timberborn’s lead designer.
    Timberborn - Early Access highlights
    Two different beaver factions, each with unique buildings, visual style, and gameplay traits: expert farmers Folktails and the industrious Iron Teeth.
    Floodgates, canals, river control - all the cool beaver stuff that utilizes destructible terrain and water physics.
    Dry seasons - beavers need to irrigate the land to keep fields and forests alive even when the droughts hit. They use pumps, irrigation towers, reservoirs and more.
    Vertical architecture - buildings are stacked atop one another, allowing the player to create tall megastructures or vast cities spanned by platforms and bridges. #Timberborn

    Never in my life have I've ever thought that I'd look for apartment designs for Beavers of all things. Amazing tho, and well thought out. Very complex for those with small spacing in mind but still want for tons of works. It really just works. Thank you.

    One thing I will say is double lodges are more efficient then triple. Two triple lodges cost 70 logs and hold 18 beavers, three double lodges cost 60 logs and hold 18 beavers

    I think it would look more stable when you alternate on which end the double and triple lodges are, so it looks like brickwork. (And you can alternate 2 triple lodges with 3 double ones.)

    You should use double lodge, since they use less lumber per resident, wile equal to the triple in everything else...

    I've got like 50hrs in and I'm just now learning you can out platforms over stairs.
