In terms of challenges, you could potentially try to get as much green area as you can (during good weather). I don't think the game lets you pump water upwards so you would need to create channels to take water around the map from the water spawn location.
Mechanical pumps can do that. It is energy hungry. But they still work at low power level. Plus you can pump filtered fresh water from bad tide water (so even during bad tide your map will still get their supply of fresh water. You can also do that with water dumps. It’ll take water from your fresh water reservoir and manual labor dependent but it is not effected by power supply These beavers need to learn how to build an aqueduct…
I think the main thing to learn for next level is upgrading storage more and then dispersing to small ones. I.e large water tank but lots of smaller ones around the map. Also wearhouses can be used as platforms too so useful. You could have used large wearhouse under the papermill rather than platforms
I'd also suggest storages (small or medium) outside factories so beavers that needs multiple resource can pull from them instead of waiting for deliveries or going far for resources like wood or paper. also if i remember correctly plank and gear production is not a 1 to 1 ratio you need more planks than gear but forget how much.
For an extra goal, you could plant trees on the entire map. I have personally really enjoyed the challenge of hydrating everything and making forests. Tip: if you plant any tree or bush, if you unselect them for planting they can spread to neighboring tiles.
Biffa, you can not stop this map before you have built a super high beaver-skyscraper-headquarter where all your top beavers are living and working the administration of your beaver-bots.
Yea I literally capped off the same ones on the same map yesterday but built triple platforms across and 0 beavers got sick. I'll try damming up that one part so I can get to the ruins like you did!
I agree. Set a goal of reaching at least 50 for well-being, you'll need monuments, decor, convenient recreation... you love detailing like that and we love watching it.
18:55 - Build levees down on the left of the platforms and then to the right, where you put the path in the final strech of the bad water flow, so you can dam it to have access to the second underground mine.
You're a solid base builder/designer (hence your whole channel). I would love to see you be challenged by building vertically, but adding your typical Biffa flair to it (: I look forward to any new episode.
Beavers can build off the side of the platforms regardless of the height difference. Use the platforms as scaffolding over the badwater and they can build in the badwater without getting contaminated. The fountain you said you'd be building up in the air won't work. The base has to be in 1-deep water.
Now that you've got all the bots, you could try and rein in the beaver population to the strict minimum (there's a few jobs bots can't do). With this faction it's as simple as destroying housing
For a challenge, have more bots than beavers. I think you should have no more beavers and only bots so a storyline coup be something along the lines of that the bots took over so the beavers left to a new colony
This is possible. I currently have over 1k bots on my playthrough, and down to 200 beavers in one beaver district. Gonna bring that down to 50. With mods, currently 76 happiness for the organics.
Although it's probably possible to do this with water pumps, badwater pumps and fluid dumps, it would be labor-intensive. An alternative would be the mechanical pumps. Energy-hungry, but automated.
@@Flobyby There are mods that accomplish this. My current play through, everything is automated, pumps, bot production, floodgates, etc. When badtide hits, all the gates reconfigure to send it straight off the map.
Such a fun series! It would be kind of fun to start the iron teeth series and then revisit this town later to optimize it from what we learn doing iron teeth.
When doing construction projects in badwater: beavers can reach down to build, so instead of building stairs into the filthy water, build an elevated path that ends touching the side of a building (direct tile-to-tile, not diagonally, this isn't ONI xD) no sick beavers. This applies to any construction, not just what's being built in filthy water. Beavers can stand on top of a mountain and reach down the side to the bottom (nice way of building e.g a dam or setting explosives)
Definitely build the monuments and decorative items - the maximum wellbeing is over 60, and you have ways to improve the life of your beavers. The fountain would fit well into that round pool you have in the map, and you can go into statues and scarecrows all over the place, it makes things much more enjoyable to be around. I sometimes also encircle my farms with a row of trees or berries I don't cut down - just for aestetic purposes. You can put the monuments on top of houses! It looks like a steeple then, much more imposing. Btw, you most likely need fewer water pumpers - the big pumps are much more efficient than the little ones. Same goes for the badwater rig - it's so much more efficient than the regular pump, that I usually just run it for a minute every cycle or so, and get those 1200 badwater, more than enough for most needs.
You could try to get all beavers free at all times (all jobs done by bots), and maximum happiness stats. At least 20k stored of all items available, all storages full. Loving the changes you've made to the channel. Please don't keep to a schedule if you don't want to, its been lovely surprises to see videos out at other random times. I'd rather have a 15-20 min video each day than an hour 3 times a week. The game choices have been great, I've enjoyed all of them so far and you seem to be enjoying yourself more too. CS2 was clearly getting on your wick! The return to CS1 has been beautiful.....I think the game itself looks so much better, more vibrant. Keep up the great work Biffa!!!! Thank you for being one of the very, very few that can turn a really bad day into a much better one.
1:12 NOPE, the dome does not work like that for FT, only IT get bad water during drought with it, if you want power go wind and battery for FT, i like to shove them ontop of my bulk storage location next to a wack ton of small piles
I hate when Timberborn play through end! I would love to see you work to populate the whole map, see how large you can grow your living beaver community, how high you can build apartment “skyrises” etc! Love this play through though!!
B-E-A-V-E-R. Beaver. Dance! They can dance if they want to, but only after hauling logs. 'Cuz if the logs aren't hauled, then there is no dance hall, well they're... Ahh! Badtide alert! Sorry, this is the level of comment you get when the kid decides we're waking up at 4:00 AM in the morning on a Saturday 😂
Definitely would like to see this map to where there are no working beavers, like to see industrial improvements more sparkly planks and maybe more power be nice to see more green areas too
4:24 or you know just drop a few small warehouses to make a cheap platform they can walk on to get next to the build site and they will drop the parts into place from above
Next challenge should be to automate the badtide handling so you that you don't need to constantly open and close floodgates. You need a badwater filtering system. See Skye Storm for inspiration.
You could see if you could get to 60 happiness (it will probably be momentary, it's tough to get it to stay at that level). Also, good luck with the Iron teeth. Even on standard difficulty, I found them much, much harder to keep alive in the early days (read up on the breeding before you start).
you know what I would like to see, if you can make a huge Aquaduct to let all the good water flow to the otherside of the map. and basically flush out all the bad water
What about building a big mushroom tower. I know that they need a out of water and time to grow, but in the Ende you will get loads of them, which is worth it. If you you stack more those 3x3x1 buildings on top of each other, you will maybe have a big tower, which gives huge amount of mushrooms. Add some large warehouses for storing them and you should have now a constant supply of mushrooms for the whole time.
The mines do take alot of resources to make scrap metal, but if you don't have any scrap left on the map, you can still get scrap by using resources that are unfinite eg wood and pine resin, to get scrap. Since there is only a limited and finite amount of scrap on the map.
Challenges? Lets see: Get your beavers to maximum happiness. Bots taking care of all the jobs, while beavers enjoy all the possible foods, recreation and luxury. Green the entire map. Use the mechanical water pumps to build an automated bad-/freshwater system, so you don't have to manually control floodgates every badtide. Build a massive and impressive looking reservoir near the water sources, so you can survive a maximum amount of drought. (Even better if you manage to combine it with the previous point!) hi
You should make as much of the map green as possible.
@@yuyaplays9311 MAX HAPPYNIS
You didn't do more than one district or you didn't do the Dirt Excavator and use dirt blocks.
In terms of challenges, you could potentially try to get as much green area as you can (during good weather). I don't think the game lets you pump water upwards so you would need to create channels to take water around the map from the water spawn location.
I second this motion!
There actually is a pump for "water upwards", is just needs a lot of power for maximum efficiency.
Mechanical pumps can do that. It is energy hungry. But they still work at low power level. Plus you can pump filtered fresh water from bad tide water (so even during bad tide your map will still get their supply of fresh water.
You can also do that with water dumps. It’ll take water from your fresh water reservoir and manual labor dependent but it is not effected by power supply
These beavers need to learn how to build an aqueduct…
There's also a liquid discharge, you can get beaver bots to carry water to it

I think the main thing to learn for next level is upgrading storage more and then dispersing to small ones. I.e large water tank but lots of smaller ones around the map. 100% beaver happiness would be nice goal to get.
If you've put all the beavers on the dole, you should build them a high rise council flat.

Not as unethical as what RCE did 💀

How about building something on platforms connected by bridges? And for Ironteeths, use the biggest map.
Edit: and build some monuments...

Next you can try to create the perfect city for the beavers. Recreation, houses overlooking green spaces, etc.
Turn as much of the land green as possible, irrigation and sustainable through drought/bad tide greenery as a goal.
I wish to submit two additional goals: use all tech, and maximum leisure time with fewest (non-bot) beaver-hours.
Now that you've got all the bots, you could try and rein in the beaver population to the strict minimum (there's a few jobs bots can't do). With this faction it's as simple as destroying housing

I wish there were scripted actions for beaver bots like raising levees and such when seasons change

If bad tide doesn’t negatively impact your beavers then you’ve done it
Build an entire community one level above the highest point in this world.
