I might be wrong in this but I recall seeing a lot of complaining about the game not having a campaign rather than issues with the lack of space battles and I also remember people taking issues with so much content being part of expansions and DLCs that cost extra
At the time of release, wanted something similar to the original Star Wars battlefronts, but we got a very small game with simplified mechanics, map design and so on. It was an arcade game with little else to it sold for $60. Whether it was a fair comparison or not, I felt it did not deserve the name Star Wars battlefront or my money. I refunded. When Star Wars battlefront two EA when In up in flames, with a passing glance in its direction, my response “figured, That’s EA for you.” Star Wars battlefront two EA, years later, I play it. It was nice. They had enough contact this time, but that came at a cost. Also, the gameplay and Mechanics were still are arcadey and simplified. You could also call it lazy but whatever.
I played the 1980's arcade where you attacked the deathstar, you can see vids of it on here, the space battles in Battlefront were really good, particularly the trench run because it was a perfect homage and update to exactly that old game, at the same time as putting it in a multiplayer setting, you're right about the campaign part and the dlc's, the modes where you switch from a space battle to a land battle and vice versa, these are good too. I picked up a PS4 with virtual reality pretty cheap long after it launched and rebought it for the VR mission on that on the strength of the pc version. Edit: just read the comment about the old battlefront, that's pretty standard with games these days, the old battlefront only needed 4 or 5gb or hard drive space, the 2015 needed 40 gb of hard drive space and most of it for graphics, that's been the focus, people wanted ray tracing and stuff like that, people think graphical improvement means game improvement, how many super duper deluxe enchanced limited special editions of Skyrim are there now? and folk have bought everyone, they're gonna buy the same engine with copy paste characters in Starfield and play it at 30fps on "next gen" consoles because they think its something new, though criticism of the BF 2015 was listened to with the second.
That was part of it. The problem with this game is that most of the content is paywalled and even then there’s little single player content, even besides a campaign. It’s only remedied by the fact that the game and its season pass is very cheap
@@666windmill666 unfortunately, republic commando game and novels arent "canon" for disney, so they wont bother to do such a game. Disney sucks and takes an L once agaim for not continuing EU.
The reason i love this game is that it captures the feel of the Original Trilogy so well, i mean the developers actually went to the real locations the films were shot and examined every detail of the practical models and costumes.
@knightsofsumeria It literally should've been like the original battlefront games just, with this beautiful new engine 🤷♂️ In essence it should've been Battlefield-Battlefront, as the original Battlefront games played almost identically to Battlefield Conquest, no vehicles you need 'points' to spawn in, actual classes with their own useful abilities and blasters, space battles where we can land in enemy capital ships and get out. I love BF2 2017 but it still could've been much more.
I’ll never forget watching that first trailer the day it dropped with my friends at school, it looked like the craziest thing any of us had ever seen. I played it quite a lot and while I had fun with it I could never help but think how much better it could have been and how much more they could have done. For that reason I was so hyped for BF2’s launch and we all know how that went 😂 thankfully I got back into BF2 a while after launch when a lot of major problems had been fixed at it was awesome.
Dude literally same thing with me. I saw that launch trailer and thought it was the most amazing thing ever. I got the game and loved everything about it but knew more could be done, the graphics though back in the day on that fat ass og Xbox one with only five hundred gigabytes😭it was so gorgeous I felt like I was in the Star Wars universe then 2017 rolls around and we get a sequel 💀💀we all try to forget that first like two years of battlefront 2 launch but glad I stuck around because it ended up being a good game and I had loads of fun and countless hours invested in the game. Hopefully we get a Battlefront 3!!
The major problems that bf2 had were fixed almost immediately. Lootboxes were scrapped days after launch. The only issue that really stayed around was the hero buying mechanic that required you to grind for quite a while. The game was really tarnished by its lootbox reputation even though lootboxes existed for like a week.
This game basically raised me, I remember begging my parents to get it for me. I miss coming home from school and hopping on to a walker assault on bespin, it's really sad to go back and play on maps that used to be full and seeing them completely empty
Thats so insane for me. When you compare games from 2005 with this 2015 title there is a MASSIVE graphic jump. And now 8 years later this game looks still better than most of the games which are releasing yet
The Death Star dlc is still to this day some of the best Star Wars fun I’ve had in gaming in awhile. The attack, exfiltrate and trench run was just amazing. It’s the best dlc but I thought they really did a good job on all the dlc
I'm a Star Wars fan (at 57 years old). I'm not really a gamer. But playing Battlefront gives me the feeling of Nostalgia. And its the only game now on my creative PC.
11:27 this isn’t randomly programmed, this would happen because you move when firing. You need to be standing or crouching completely still for the pulse cannon to fire straight
I loved this game so much, so nostalgic and I still actually play it sometimes, (Cargo online still has lobbies btw) I played this game for like 3 years straight and unlocked absolutely everything it had to offer, such a great game and is actually my first game on the ps4 as well. Love it to this day
Now this, this was my childhood. Owned everything in that game! The Dark Trooper and Shoretrooper outfits for reaching 50 and 100. I even remember when stormtroopers didn’t have helmets. The atmosphere of this game is far better than Battlefront 2 IMO
I miss this game in its prime so much man. I remember coming home on a cold fridays after school or Sunday after church and just grinding the shit outta this game
i miss playing this game so much. i've loaded the game up multiple times in the past few years & had such a hard time finding a lobby. i hope the community bands together one day to revive this masterpiece of a game 😭
i adored this game and played it heavily into 2020 i gave it a lil go this year but was disapointed with the player numbers this game with all the dlcs is so damn fun
I agree that they were limiting themselves with the amount of content they could add, this game imo shouldn’t have been just the Galactic Civil War, and I genuinely think thats one of its greatest set backs, they played it too safe, Battlefront 2’s best addition was the Clone Wars Era and The First Order-Resistance War Era, despite what people will think of those two, it gave Dice more opportunities
Great video chopper. Will never forget that E3 trailer. We were all blown away by how awesome the game looked. While I was ultimately disappointed that the game wasn't more like the class based battlefront I grew up with, glad it still found a community.
I find it amazing how this video came out just recently as i have also in last 3 days been playing it on PS4 and was able to find a full walker assault lobby and many cargo matches. It brought back so many memories and i wish to play sabotage again.
I used to play this game a lot, this and the 2017 game were one of my favorites. But obviously over time I barely could find lobbies, galactic assault not at all, even though I was playing on console. And I haven't played them for a while. After all, it's good to see someone still plays that game, this video remind me many memories, thanks!
I still play it. I adored it when it came out. I bought my first Xbox One for this game. Yes it’s riddled with sweaty losers but when you get fun lobbies with genuine players. It’s really terrific! I still love it. It feels so authentically Star Wars. It’s only issue is it’s controls are a little janky sometimes.
This game was so fun back in the day bro, I would come home from school and couldn’t wait to play Walker assualt with my friends. The DLC made it even better with Bespin and Rogue One being my favorites ! Good memories, time flies
I played this game so much around 2015-17, even though i'd never seen a single Star Wars film & know pretty much nothing (except the basics) about the series
I remember when the beta came out around thanksgiving (Canada), me and my dad would stay up for hours playing walker assault. It sucks I can't play that mode online anymore.
Ik im late, but he also said that, shooting with a the sniper is a high risk high reward scenario and then said, you sometimes have high risk and no reward i mean thats the point like wtf
I would play this game nonstop during my late middle school and early highschool years. I would get up late at night and play the game until i had to go to school, those were the times🥲
My mom bought me this game at discount from a video rental place when I was in middle school, and this is probably one of my most nostalgic games. I got it for $12 (price sticker still on the case to this day) only a year after release, it’s insane how fun and replay able the game was and each dlc was an amazing new experience to the base game. Still one of my favorite games to date
This video was posted a year ago and I just got my first ever console a Ps5 and I got Battlefront 2015 on it and it is still surprisingly active, it usually takes my 30 seconds to a minute at the right time of day to find a 40 player lobby!
Currently active Battlefront 2015 (and Battlefront 2) PC player here, I have about 5000+ hours combined in those games, just wanted to give my perspective on the game, and react to this video TL;DR: Battlefront 2015 is a multiplayer focused competitive shooter game in the SW universe. And it's great at that. Better than Battlefront 2 at that. The weapon, star card, objective and map desing balance is something that you won't find anywhere else. Hackers and lack of content killed the game for casual players as the years went on, but finding 6v6 lobbies is still possible in peak gaming hours. 20v20 is more difficult. DLCs are dead indeed. 1:07 "...but compared to the controversy that Battlefront 2 would find itself in..." the lootbox scandal was just a made up thing by the community and media to hate on EA and be the victim. Yes, you could spend money to unlock star cards and characters faster, but you could do that simply by playing the game. The star cards really don't make you that much powerful in that game, also, you could unlock your preferred star cards to level 3 (level 4 was the max) very very easily, to achieve level 4 you needed to grind significantly more, or buy crystals, but the added benefits were very negligible. 1:55 "This was a primarily multiplayer only game." absolutely agree, but I think they did it amazingly well. 2:30 in my experinece, in its prime, it was fairly easy to find lobby to any game mode, but I really don't think this game's best part is the 40 players mode or the heroes. It's the 6v6 competitive experience. Cargo (a.k.a. capture the flag) is extremly well balanced, both in terms of objective and map design. Will talk about star cards and loadouts later. 3:52 "the fact that the hero token was completely random" not true, it wasn't random. It's spawn points were always locked on a few places based on how the objective progresses. Same with the vehicle tokens. There were/are people who specifically camp these token locations and only play heroes and or vehicles. Super annoying and spineless. 3:58 "in battlefront 2 they did it in a way where you kind of earn playing as a hero as the match goes on" I agree this is better, nothing feels more frustrating than random timmy picking up a hero token, picks Luke, accidentally presses saber rush, kills you with it, then dies in the process because he doesn't even know how to block or manouver. But I would like to add that in Battlefront 2 you need to be killed, and be on the respawn menu to choose and play as a hero, they should have made a "shop" that's available when you are alive aswell. 4:43 "the quality of each update was questionable" I disagree, every single DLC was packed with quality and unique content. Also there were free content drops (weapons, maps). I would rather pay extra for that kind of service than having the "free live service model" and pray the devs add or change something meaningful after massive backlash. 5:35 "Luke's and Vader's abilities are pretty much mirrors of each other" yes and I believe that's for the sake of balance again. People often want variety, but they forget that generally comes at the cost of balance, one thing will be better than the other. Take a look at Battlefront 2, where the resistance spy and the first order sith trooper are the same class, same price, but the sith trooper is miles better. Same with the Wookie warrior vs death trooper. Or Droideka vs clone commando. Regarding the saber heroes vs blaster heroes part, blaster heroes are only stronger because of their health and or high damage output. But I don't play heroes, especially not HvV, I imagine it's rather up to individual skills, for example as a saber hero you really wanna force close quarter fights, it's up to you and to the map wether you can do it. at 8:00 about the DLC game modes, I think they were great in their on way, because they were each showing a different experience compared to the base walker assault/supremacy. What I really minded is how hard they packed those modes with heroes, to the point where the outcome was basically dependent on them. For example, Extraction (Outer Rim DLC) is a 12v12 game mode, it's way too small for an OP hero to be there, especially on a small map like Jabba's palace. Or in Sabotage (Bespin DLC) that's 20v20, but there are 4 heroes allowed for each side, but not at the same time. In first phase the rebels get their heroes, and in the second phase the empire. Since the empire got their heroes later, they generally win because their heroes live longer at the end of the match. 8:50 regarding the saber heroes being the weakest links, I don't think it's a bad thing that people who actually have to aim at their target (mostly) can achieve better results than saber heroes whose target just somewhat need to be on their screen to deal damage. 9:20 "they wanted to be in canon with that time period" I think they did it right, both staying with canon and mixing the time perioud have their own pros and cons, I'm glad one game did one, the other went the second way. 10:10 "the actual card system definitley got expended in Battlefront 2" 100% disagree :D in Battlefront 2, people almost never change their star cards on the classes. They change their entire character if they want a different experience, but that's not simple loadout mix. And the approach is not a "rock-paper-scissors" thing, there are things that you just don't have a counter to, being shocked for example. Or avoiding to die to oneshot stuff. In Battlefront 2015 the star card system is almost perfect. The amount of variety you can do with star cards to pick a certain playstyle is great, for example, berzerker trait can make any gun in the game usable. Or explosive shot. Sometimes I run double flash with bounty hunter so they recharge faster. Sometimes I run pulse cannon with jumppack and bounty hunter and snipe people from the air. I could go on... and everything has a counter. 10:40 "and you don't really know why do enemies deal more damage/you deal less damage to them" not true, if you get killed by an enemy, the game shows their loadout on the death screen. If you don't have the trait card unlocked what the enemy is using, only then it won't show. 11:00 "the star cards suffer from balance problem, along with the rest of the game aswell" not true, as I said, every star card and playstyle have their perfect star combination as a counter. For example: enemy uses bodyguard, you pick berzerker. Enemy uses shield, you pick stinger pistol or cycler rifle or ion grenade. Enemy uses powerful weapons (dlt19x, ee4, scatter gun, tl 50 etc), you pick bodyguard. Enemy uses shock grenade, you pick stim. Enemy camps a lot, you pick scan pulse. Enemy plays chicken walker, you pick ion grenade and smart rocket. Enemy plays aircrafts, you pick ion shot (except against X-wing, that's unkillable). etc etc. 6v6 game modes are perfectly balanced, 20v20 not so much. In walker assault the imps definitely have the advantage because of the powerul AT-ATs and AT-ST-s, and both factions have heroes and aircrafts. In supremacy it's better, imps only have AT-ST-s but they are still OP, can be infinitely spammed one after the other and can clear points by themselves. 11:18 the pulse cannon only has random spread if you move while you are shooting. Release the WASD (or the joystick) and it'll go straight. 11:50 the charge cards aren't technically infinite, yes but unlocking just a decent amount is braindead easy... I have never had an issue with not having enough charges, not even when I started playing the game years ago. In private match, yes you only start with 5 and need to gather more on the map, but that's a heavily competitive environment and it gives a huge tactical layer to the experience. 12:15 star card balance is not better in battlefront 2, people spawn in with their star cards instantly refreshed when they die and they can spam it brainlessly, especially with the squad spawn system. 12:43 "visually this game really holds up" 100% agreed, also wanted to add that even on the lowest settings it looks great and the optimalisation is incredible. I can get over 300 fps on low settings in 1440p while in Battlefront 2 I barely go 200. There is a video on the official EA channel where the devs show that they went to the Lucasfilm archives to capture the models and also went to the original locations where the films were shot. Amazing video. 14:00 regarding what was holding back this game from being successful, it was the content partially, not for me tho, for the casual playerbase who craves new shit like that's always better. But the main thing that killed this game is: hackers. If the game wasn't infested with those assholes it would have survived 2-3x longer than it did. 14:45 regarding the galactic conquest part, I think supremacy is the best game mode I have ever played in a video game. Besides cargo. Two equally skilled team, going toe to toe, losing the recapturing points in the last minute, truly an exceptional experience. Just an example how great a supremacy game can be: ruclips.net/video/rgrR-sPoIuE/видео.html 15:22 "I'm pretty sure this game is beyond dead on PC" kinda yes unfortunately... finding lobbies is only possible in peak hours, and you really need to get lucky to find anything other than 6v6. Also, pray that the hackers aren't online at that time... but for years, even after Battlefront 2 was released, there was a competitive community, comprising the best few hundreds of players in the game, making clans and tournaments, even money prized ones, having exciting battles, creating tactics, playing PUGs and scrims etc... it's only been in the past half a year that it stopped. Thank you for reading :D
@AtonPL Yeah, I've always believed that BF 2015 looked better than BF 2017. BF 2015 looks more cinematic and film esque where BF 2017 looks more arcadey with less heart put into the movie locations. Just compare the two different versions of Hoth and it's pretty clear which version is superior. (Probably because they went to some of the actual locations and sets to create these maps for 2015 but not 2017)
For the star wars loot box controversy, I think you REALLY downplay. Random chance ability cards were always bad and it wasn't as simple as "you could just play the game." I remember to unlock an iconic character like darth vader or palpatine it was like 40,000 credits. You'd have to play like 30 matches to unlock one of those, and rewards weren't even based upon win/loss or performance. They were definitely anti-gamer and were predatory. The grind was absolutely insane to the average person, and grinding out characters that were available SWBF2015 disappointed most people because of the lack of content. EA needed to rebuild trust and goodwill and squandered a legitimately amazing game by doing the loot box & grind economy.
@@grahamhill676 I agree that making your character development dependent on randomness (and tying it partially behind a paywall) is far from the most optimal game design choices, but like I said, unlocking your preferred 3-4-5 star cards to rare level did not take much at all. If you played one hour every day for week you'd be done, and be as competitive as possible. I agree and remember that in the beginning how much credit you earned was dependent on how many minutes the round lasted, and there were no bonuses for winning, for most score, for most kills, for most objective, nothing, which is again, lack of design. On the heroes costing absurdly lot I agree, but I just happen to not care about that aspect of the game at all... I have never been able to find enjoyment in playing OP characters that can onehit people just by looking at them, so I was completely fine with them not being attainable. I have like 1300 hours in battelfront 2, and pretty much 1200 hours was with specialist and nothing else, and go for headshots.
I remember getting this and Halo 5 back to back in 2015 since I finally upgraded to Xbox one. Man I was a freshman in college, despite both being disappointing, good times
Man... I forgot all about this game. And how much I played it. BF2 came out, and I moved to it and then hated life. I should have just gone back to BF1!
this was the first fps game I actually played. played it in middle school and was an absolute beast at it lol. my almost 50 y/o dad still plays this game to this day and if you still play this game on the Outer Rim on PS4, you’ve more than likely have ran into him 😂
I was a, pretty much, day 1 player. This game brought me sooo many fond memories playing Walker Assault on Endor and Hoth. Only a couple years ago when my cousin and I were sailing at the coast we had a PS4 in our apartment and just played the singleplayer co-op walker assault against bots every night. Even then the game was a blast. I miss it.
Highlight of this game for me was grabbing hero coin on hoth… walked through the wampa tunnel with darth vader and toward the exit a guy playing rebel infantryman ran in and stopped in his tracks… i ignited my saber and choked him lol. Loved hopping into battles on this game while listening to music.
I remember the ol days when id hop on walker assault, shoot it wiuth an ion torpedo, get a smart rocket, then an orbital strike and take it down before the second uplinks
Han Solo blaster being locked behind a pre order was what did it for a lot of people. The thing was insanely OP and punished you if you didn’t buy the game early. No campaign and weird hero tokens you had to pick up instead of being able to earn didn’t help either. Lack of customization/progression
i remember one christmas i got the deluxe edition as a gift and it was the coolest thing being able to play as all the heroes n villains. I remember bossk being kinda op cuz he healed with each kill. walker assault the best gamemode ofc
I played this game so much with my brother. We lived in an area with insanely slow WiFi that made it so we couldn’t play online. We played the heck out of offline walker assault and survival! I’ll always love this game. Just wish I could have experienced the MP before it was dead
same, but with the only exception that i didn't have anything to run this game. I played it for the first time in 2016 when i was 10 years young, then when i bought xbox in 2021 it was the first game that i downloaded and played. I kinda experienced MP because i joined battlefront discord server... damn... it was the only way to play all the dlc. I remember playing scarif just twice for max hour per game.
@@MyChaosLabyah me and my bro were dumb and bought all the dlc thinking it was playable offline. We still have it but I can’t ever find any games. Maybe I should try a discord
1:15 What? The game was hated because it was a rushed reboot at launch with bare bones content that also had it's season pass around 50$(almost as the base game). It got better but no, it wasn't because of no space battles.
I still play Battlefront 2015 so often and I’m from Australia and in the afternoon I find 40 player modes quite easily, usually on US or Europe servers. Sometimes DLC’s run on the weekends but I still enjoy this game after I spent so long on BF2 and uploading gameplay from it!
The biggest controversy from what I could remember was definitely the lack of content, no space battles, no clone wars, no conquest. Having no conquest was EGREGIOUS
This is the best multiplayer game Ive ever played. The same way people talk about old COD games. I had the same experience with this game. Good old fun multiplayer and this games gameplay is so much fun. Plus the DLCs were so awesome. They felt like events when everyone jumped in to check out the new maps and heroes/villians and it was so good
same, I remember when i was 10, never had a console and barely could use a controller - i was trying to play this game with my friend (survival mode on sullust). This game went so deep into my memory, that when i got my first console ever (around 5 years later, 2021) it was the first game i downloaded. I sat behind tv for hours and i was the happiest person on earth, just for playing this game alone. later i bought every dlc and got sooooo disappointed, because they were dead. One day i joined discord server for this game, where sometimes events were organised and toxic weapons (like EE-4, explosive shot) were banned... and it was hell good. It felt like playing game in its prime, with the exception that i was the only noob in the game. for about a year it was almost the only game i was playing, then i started grinding battlefront II. Battlefront II didn't feel this good and to this day, when my xbox havent been turned on for a year or something, im randomly still like "Damn, i wish i could play battlefront now". Good not so old times... wait... good?... Gold times :)
I personally loved the game for what it was. I’d play my Spotify on the ps4 while playing Heroes vs Villains. I’ll never forget the times I had, but after Battlefront 2 I couldn’t go back. I was obsessed with Battlefront 2 and what the devs wanted to do after a year or 2 of getting the game to be in a solid state. EA shut them down and I’ll never forgive them for that especially when the devs came out and said some of the planned content they had for that game.
Game is literally ahead of its time and is STILL considered to be up to date and is not only in function but in graphics. Shame they shit all over it and essentially abandoning it for other projects.
I love this game better than the second one I mean u can change ur characters which is cool and leveling up and getting to unlock things was really dope I was hooked online
I play on PS4 myself and found that the most beneficial days to play online (If you wanna play WA sized game modes) would be Friday-Monday. Love this game and play all the time still.
No galactic conquest, no customer from me. I never bothered to try it. I thought they could’ve really upgraded the galactic conquest. It makes you feel like you are controlling a war throughout their galaxy and not just fighting on chosen map.
On Xbox, there is a group of about 4-5 players that have driven everyone, even the hardcore fans, away. They know where everything spawns, they know all the glitches, cheats, and loopholes to win every single game. Some of them take no damage, some of them don’t run out of ammo, it’s horrible.
I got the PlayStation package with the special earth Vader PlayStation when this game came out, it was my first console and I was super excited. I couldn’t play it on launch day because our city lost power in a storm and a few people died, so I played it a day after launch at a hotel. When power was restored, I could never play the online stuff cause family couldn’t afford the PlayStation online features, so I played survival and tutorial missions over and over. I was so incredibly hyped when walker assault came out for singleplayer, I played hours and hours of that. I didn’t even know about the DLC or extra gamemodes, so years later I found out that multiplayer actually had unique gamemodes I never played. I never found out about star cards, or unlocking guns.
Got this video on my main page of yt randomly. Ngl it brings a lot of memories. This game was basically my high school. The gameplay was so satisfying and smooth. Shame it died out so quickly. Almost impossible to find lobbies on pc nowadays
Something to acknowledge is that there are discord servers that mostly every weekend put servers up on dlc modes, usually being bespin and rogue 1, and is usually a full server and hard to get into
I might be wrong in this but I recall seeing a lot of complaining about the game not having a campaign rather than issues with the lack of space battles and I also remember people taking issues with so much content being part of expansions and DLCs that cost extra
I refunded.
When Star Wars battlefront two EA when In up in flames, with a passing glance in its direction, my response “figured, That’s EA for you.”
Star Wars battlefront two EA, years later, I play it.

The reason i love this game is that it captures the feel of the Original Trilogy so well, i mean the developers actually went to the real locations the films were shot and examined every detail of the practical models and costumes.
exactly!
The Force is strong with this comment!!
Yep certainly was a selling point they marketed alot. I wonder if BF 2017 did the same?
If they spent more time on the game rather than getting a paid vacation the game would have been better
The Rogue One DLC was the best experience I ever had in multiplayer
Seriously, it was so much fun when that dlc dropped
so true loved the pistol gun and chaning modes that was the best time to play
Infiltration is so fun
Must've never played video games before 2012 then lol
For me it was The Outer Rim, so many memories from my childhood. But I recently played Sabatoge on Bespin and OMG is Bespin BEAUTIFUL.
Fr legendary game
The major problems that bf2 had were fixed almost immediately. Lootboxes were scrapped days after launch.
The only issue that really stayed around was the hero buying mechanic that required you to grind for quite a while. The game was really tarnished by its lootbox reputation even though lootboxes existed for like a week.
This game basically raised me, I remember begging my parents to get it for me. I miss coming home from school and hopping on to a walker assault on bespin, it's really sad to go back and play on maps that used to be full and seeing them completely empty
May I ask how old you are? :D
my boi is like 14 years old lol
Empty? I play regularly online, on PS4!

Thats so insane for me. When you compare games from 2005 with this 2015 title there is a MASSIVE graphic jump. And now 8 years later this game looks still better than most of the games which are releasing yet
there is a massive jump in grafics but also a huge gap in content which was the main point of critique for this game and deservably so
Greed
Looks better. But it's gameplay is vastly inferior to the 2004 original game
nothing beats the thermal imploder sound in that game it was A1
Yes. I killed 8 players with one.
The sound design on this game was top notch. If you played it with a subwoofer, it was phenomenal.
This game came with my ps4 and I spent countless hours playing this game! I loved it so much! Bespin and Rouge One’s dlc was so amazing
Same!
The Death Star dlc is still to this day some of the best Star Wars fun I’ve had in gaming in awhile. The attack, exfiltrate and trench run was just amazing. It’s the best dlc but I thought they really did a good job on all the dlc
@Ostrava_Of_Boletariaat least there’s private matches
I'm a Star Wars fan (at 57 years old). I'm not really a gamer. But playing Battlefront gives me the feeling of Nostalgia. And its the only game now on my creative PC.
Get the 2005 battlefront, its wayyy beter
11:27 this isn’t randomly programmed, this would happen because you move when firing. You need to be standing or crouching completely still for the pulse cannon to fire straight
There's gotta be way more to it than that if people are hitting cross map shots from midair with the pulse cannon
I loved this game so much, so nostalgic and I still actually play it sometimes,
(Cargo online still has lobbies btw)
I played this game for like 3 years straight and unlocked absolutely everything it had to offer, such a great game and is actually my first game on the ps4 as well. Love it to this day
I’ll always love this game. Got it on my birthday from my parents and got me obsessed with Star Wars. Had so many hours on it
This game was peak. Playing extraction in jabbas palace in 2016 was a core memory
The Death Star lineup of modes went unbelievably hard, I remember sitting down for hours with the same lobby of people pushing through the entire DLC
but it was so much fun, doing the trench run was a blast
@@Abrax3s trench run was insane, I miss this game bro
Now this, this was my childhood. Owned everything in that game! The Dark Trooper and Shoretrooper outfits for reaching 50 and 100. I even remember when stormtroopers didn’t have helmets. The atmosphere of this game is far better than Battlefront 2 IMO
Legitimately one of my favorite multiplayer games of all time. Criminally underrated

Wow this gave me nostalgia i have loads of memories on this game
i miss playing this game so much. i've loaded the game up multiple times in the past few years & had such a hard time finding a lobby. i hope the community bands together one day to revive this masterpiece of a game 😭
i adored this game and played it heavily into 2020 i gave it a lil go this year but was disapointed with the player numbers this game with all the dlcs is so damn fun
This was the first pc game ive ever played. I remember me and my dad heard about the game and built a computer together. I played this nonstop
Battlefront 1 has some of the most fun movement mechanics and gameplay of any game I’ve ever played
Man I had so much fun with this one ! So much great memories ! And the dogfight ♥️
Dude, walker assault was awesome but god it was such a pain in the ass to fly the ship without crashing lol
In 2024 i played full lobby bespin, death star and outer rim. Game is still alive for me i play on ps4 european servers
true
11:20 that's not a balancing issue, you just shouldn't be moving when you shot the sniper. If you stand still it will hit with 100% accuracy always.
So many memories were made for me on this game. I still to this day play split screen with my brother on occasion.
Love your retrospectives! Would like to see you revisit Battlefield 2042 at some point given how much it's changed since launch
I agree
This video was posted a year ago and I just got my first ever console a Ps5 and I got Battlefront 2015 on it and it is still surprisingly active, it usually takes my 30 seconds to a minute at the right time of day to find a 40 player lobby!
Walker assault is surprisingly active
But only at certain times
Currently active Battlefront 2015 (and Battlefront 2) PC player here, I have about 5000+ hours combined in those games, just wanted to give my perspective on the game, and react to this video
TL;DR: Battlefront 2015 is a multiplayer focused competitive shooter game in the SW universe.
Just an example how great a supremacy game can be: ruclips.net/video/rgrR-sPoIuE/видео.html
15:22 "I'm pretty sure this game is beyond dead on PC" kinda yes unfortunately... finding lobbies is only possible in peak hours, and you really need to get lucky to find anything other than 6v6.
BF2015 is still years ahead of BF2017 :) The best SW atmosphere of all Battlefronts.
(Probably because they went to some of the actual locations and sets to create these maps for 2015 but not 2017)
@SithDarthMaul atya is a smartest cheater in Battlefront history.
For the star wars loot box controversy, I think you REALLY downplay. Random chance ability cards were always bad and it wasn't as simple as "you could just play the game."
I remember to unlock an iconic character like darth vader or palpatine it was like 40,000 credits. You'd have to play like 30 matches to unlock one of those, and rewards weren't even based upon win/loss or performance.
They were definitely anti-gamer and were predatory. The grind was absolutely insane to the average person, and grinding out characters that were available
SWBF2015 disappointed most people because of the lack of content.
I have like 1300 hours in battelfront 2, and pretty much 1200 hours was with specialist and nothing else, and go for headshots.

this was the first fps game I actually played. played it in middle school and was an absolute beast at it lol.
my almost 50 y/o dad still plays this game to this day and if you still play this game on the Outer Rim on PS4, you’ve more than likely have ran into him 😂
This game graphics wise I could believe came out yesterday
I was a, pretty much, day 1 player. This game brought me sooo many fond memories playing Walker Assault on Endor and Hoth. Only a couple years ago when my cousin and I were sailing at the coast we had a PS4 in our apartment and just played the singleplayer co-op walker assault against bots every night. Even then the game was a blast. I miss it.
I remember my dad surprising me and my brothers with a new PS4 and Battlefront. So many good memories of that game
It makes me sad that this game is actually 10 years old almost. Feels like just a couple years ago it launched but it’s been 9 years already
i personally still love battlefront, just got off playing it about 5 minutes ago.
One of the first games I ever played, christ time flies. Always had fun playing with my brother
I only like the Origonal Trilogy so I preferred the first game to the 2nd. Hate having to play as droids and clones.
This game was unbeatable, online was amazing, wish it was back that

I started the game yesterday and struggled to find a 40 player lobby, but I found one after a 4 seconds
As a big star wars fan i never bought this game, lacked content and barely had any by the end of its life
1:15 What? The game was hated because it was a rushed reboot at launch with bare bones content that also had it's season pass around 50$(almost as the base game). It got better but no, it wasn't because of no space battles.
2015 was graphics-wise the best era for the Frostbite engine: BF1/V, Battlefront and NFS 2015 had incredible graphics
I was the best player in Aus and probably in the world I may try to get it again didn’t play it now for years.
One of the best battlefront games, the customization was amazing it sucks what EA did to the second one
They felt like events when everyone jumped in to check out the new maps and heroes/villians and it was so good
Loved this game on PS4 back in the day. I was in a good place at the time.
1v1 private split screen battle on Sullist was the definition of my childhood.
same, I remember when i was 10, never had a console and barely could use a controller - i was trying to play this game with my friend (survival mode on sullust).
@@MyChaosLab aw man that’s such a great story! This game has a special place in my heart.
Bring this game back, fighting as heros was so fun but one day it was rare to get a server
Miss this game so much
I just started playing Persona 5 a couple of weeks ago, and now I hear the music absolutely everywhere!
Game is literally ahead of its time and is STILL considered to be up to date and is not only in function but in graphics. Shame they shit all over it and essentially abandoning it for other projects.
the maps were all so gorgeous, especially jakku. I loved to stare at the skybox and watch the ships battle/fall from the sky.
The best thing about this game was 1v1ing friends
It still looks amazing. Time flies
Dude it is August 2023 and I was literally on the 19th and I was on a 40v40. Surprising. But it was awesome
I love this game better than the second one
I mean u can change ur characters which is cool and leveling up and getting to unlock things was really dope I was hooked online
I play on PS4 myself and found that the most beneficial days to play online (If you wanna play WA sized game modes) would be Friday-Monday. Love this game and play all the time still.
Wish I can go back to when this game first released
I mostly dislike the newer battlefront games, but I will say that 2015 has the best visuals and sound design of any Star Wars game.
No galactic conquest, no customer from me. I never bothered to try it. I thought they could’ve really upgraded the galactic conquest. It makes you feel like you are controlling a war throughout their galaxy and not just fighting on chosen map.
Battlefront was my first Xbox video game. It’s still great to hop on single player. Even with co-op being a thing.
On Xbox, there is a group of about 4-5 players that have driven everyone, even the hardcore fans, away. They know where everything spawns, they know all the glitches, cheats, and loopholes to win every single game. Some of them take no damage, some of them don’t run out of ammo, it’s horrible.
this game deserves recognition and attention only 12 players mode is now playable because it simply isn't enough players for 40
This game was a pure masterclass
Until they added rolling and bacta bomb
I still thought Shock Troopers could only spawn when Palpatine was in the map😂
Man i remember having so much fun on the first death star map trying to get to and extract R2-D2 and then doing the death star trench run after
And then scarif was also super fun
This game had better sound and graphics than the new one that came out in 2017. loved this game. sad no one plays it anymore.
Got this video on my main page of yt randomly. Ngl it brings a lot of memories. This game was basically my high school. The gameplay was so satisfying and smooth. Shame it died out so quickly. Almost impossible to find lobbies on pc nowadays
Something to acknowledge is that there are discord servers that mostly every weekend put servers up on dlc modes, usually being bespin and rogue 1, and is usually a full server and hard to get into
So underrated
