Finally a good review on this knife. Every other video on RUclips is just an EDC collector flicking the knife open and closed. Saying it’s nice. Thank you good man.
My daughter bought me this knife in the green frn handle for father's day. As a person who carries daily I really been enjoying this budget knife. Mine was also super razor sharp out the box and very impressive.
Most definitely best budget knife of 2024. I just got mine in today and it is GOOOOD. It is ever so slightly different in ergos, yet still better than the Pyrite Alt, but the weight is just 🤌🤌🤌. Also love the thumbstud.
These bad boys are $22 on Amazon right now. I have a Honey Badger with pocket catch opener on it and it's made of the same materials, it feels cheap, the 8cr13mov is a poop steel, for me the FRN scales with budget steel just doesn't do it, but that's my opinion, I prefer G10 with D2 (Civivi Elementum) at the $40-$60 price point if we're discussing budget knives, regardless, great video, great review, keep it up my dude!
I like almost everything about it (specially the price: 30$) except the steel : I find both AR-RPM9 and its equivalent, 9Cr18MoV losing their edge faster than my 14c28n and CM154 bladed knives. The knife came with the standard factory sharpness I'm accustomed to getting (not sticky sharp...more of a polished factory edge type of sharpness...which is to say, not terribly sharp). You are correct about the greater toughness as per Larrin Thomas, this is a sprayform (NOT a powder metallurgy steel) steel. As he noted, edge retention is about the same as 9Cr18MoV, which has been my experience so far with these steels. Thanks for the review!
@@Metoxetron Expect, no...I've actually gotten decent 14c28n for close to that price and even better. Kizer's 154cm is decent (certainly better than AR-RPM9) as is Trivisa's 14c28n (paid around 30 bucks) and I bought all of these post-pandemic (yes, I patiently wait for sales).
@@BossMan_Jerm Yes, they are, however they also are, at this point in time, budget priced (Kizer uses 154 extensively and many of their knives can be bought for 30-40$ on sale; 14c28n can also be found for around that same price on folders when on sale).
I love a great budget beater and this is one of the best I have owned . A very solid feeling knife with the full SS liners and a great blade shape. The fit and finish on mine was spot on and oh so sharp also!
I've ordered mine from Amazon but I'm still waiting for it. I'm psyched for it at this crazy low price. Unpopular opinion...I prefer thumbstuds! Just as easy to reverse flick, much easier to thumb flick 😁
I typically like both, but I don’t like the aggressive chamfering on the standard Pyrite Alt, as it causes my finger to slip out without breaking the detent. Returned and got this. Another for my father-in-law
Thank you so much for making this video! This knife seems like a great bargain. How would you compare the value of this knife to something like a civivi qubit or a vision fg?
Eh I get that it’s cheaper but I still consider the compression lock raccoon at $65 to be a better contender for best budget knife of 2024. I guess it depends where you draw the line for budget. Also I only own the compression lock raccoon and not this guy so maybe it would blow me away IRL
2.82oz I didn’t even realize I didn’t weigh this one that’s not something I usually miss but I was trying to get these videos done before I left to go out of town so I must have missed it 👍🍻🍻
@@stuartb9194better build quality and action than the hectare. It’s the first knife I have returned after buying 40 it was that bad. The crossbar would lock up crooked. This pyrite is much better.
@georgelin8498 good to know. My Hectare works fine. I would pay a bit more to have lightening holes in the Pyrite lite and get it down to sub- 2.5oz at least

I love mine. For the money, one of the best knives I own!!
Just got mine today from Amazon. Stellar knife for $29!
Hi. I want to purchase one also. I heard that the point of the blade can poke a finger when it’s close. Is that true? Thanks for sharing.
This is really a great knife..You won't be disappointed. Live mine in blue.

Got a couple of these on the way: one for me and one for my son.

Well, yeah. You expect any sort of decent 14C28N or 154CM at $30? In this economy? Hell, that’d be crazy pre-pandemic

I got one the day it released. What a knife for $30. I really love how easy it is to sharpen ar-rpm9.

NICE review. This version of the pyrite will sell like crazy. I will purchase one. Thanks for sharing.
I wish had an un-coated blade option. Thank you for sharing!
They do
Love mine! So smooth, pokey, and slicey.
Solid review I say the best I seen keep up the great work

Love 🐧 as well
It is the best budget knife of 2024. Period! Amazon for $29.
No doubt 👍🍻🍻
Drop point in stonewashed or satin and we’re in agreement! 😎
Not even close. That steel is dog water
Strongly disagree, I have ordered 2 and returned 2… the quality control on this particular model is absolutely horrendous
Got one coming today on Amazon for $29, hopefully it’s alright.
the Pyrites never miss
Pyrites just keep getting better
I bought one from Amazon and I’ve had it for a week. I love it better than my Bugouts. I agree with you, it’s a Grand Slam..!!
Blackbeard was a pyrite!!! Arrrrr. 🏴☠️. 🏴☠️😂😂
Amazon won’t send the green one to my state…BUT they are willing to ship the blue version!
That's odd to me 🤔...
Those green ones can be quite dangerous
Just got mine in today finally!
It's longer and has a bigger finger choil! It's like a Pyrite 2.0
What about Kizer Ppy, or Kizer Genie 154CM for near 35usd?
Better than a bugout IMO 😊.
What about a 🐧?
Just bought one on Amazon for $29 😊
Good for opening Amazon boxes?
💯 no brainier for that. Save your good knives for other real tasks

$30 no brainer !!!!

How light weight?
2.8 ounces I believe.

10-15$ max. Thanks for the review.
I think $30 is insanely cheap for what you’re getting here especially with the way it performed but I like a good performance knife
