      I look forward to seeing them. I have one that I am Replacing the hydraulic pump on. It has the 3 point hitch and a hydraulic pto valve. So I want to build a log splitter to go on the back of it. And be able to skid log sense I burn a lot of wood in the winter

    People under estimate the power of garden tractors basicly mini farm tractors

    The CASE and PowerKing tractors were incredibly stout units for their time ! Many still running today !

      I have a 1614. It's a heavy garden tractor. TO be honest I don't like overworking it. To make it do real work I feel like the Kohler on it is about to blow apart.....A real tractor can do the same work at a purring idle.

    One method I use for the mice is a 5 gallon pail with a little bit of grain in it, then put a stick on the side like a ramp. They fall in and can’t jump high enough to get out. I just got a case 446 so kind of curious about then. Yours looks like a pretty good one. Thanks for sharing

      Thanks John, I'm going to give that a try and see how it works. They sure are good tractors. I just sold the one in this video, my garage was getting a little crowded and something had to go.

    You could use the chains or some ag lug tires. It makes a big difference.

    I have a question for you case 446 guys,I have a 85' 446 that ran great,then suddenly won't get fuel,has new battery & plugs so I put a new fuel filter in and it's getting to the carburetor but still nothing,it starts for a second with carb cleaner but won't stay running, is a a fuel pump or the carb?? I'd appreciate any input,love your channel!

    • @NorthwoodsNoise
      @NorthwoodsNoise  2 года назад +1

      Definitely sounds like the issue is either within the carburetor or the fuel pump. If you're positive fuel is making it to the carburetor, I'd start by cleaning the carburetor. It's also possible the fuel pump is getting weak and getting fuel through the lines, but not quite enough. I'd consider replacing the fuel pump if the carb cleaning doesnt do the trick. Not to insult your intelligence, but if the fuel filter is directional, make sure you have it installed in the correct orientation (I've made this mistake before).

      Thanks that's what I was leaning towards! I appreciate it,yes I double checked the direction of the fuel filter too.

      Sold it a few years ago, but it had a 16hp briggs vanguard in it. It was a good little tractor.

    Get a set of chains and you'll have it made. I skid with a wheel horse bronco 14

      @NorthwoodsNoise  5 лет назад +1

      It's on my list. 8-16 chains have been hard to come by but I think I've finally found a set I like from tirechain.com I'd love to get my hands on a good wheelhorse. You just cant beat these old garden tractors

    hi if I were you I would buy me a small trailer that way you wouldn't break your land

    • @NorthwoodsNoise
      @NorthwoodsNoise  3 года назад

      Thanks for the suggestion! Since this video was made I did pick up a nice small trailer for hauling wood and a much bigger tractor. No more rutting up my trails dragging logs

    • @crpth1

      @@NorthwoodsNoise - Now you don't need it. But might serve for others.
      When using something to skid the logs, saves a lot of effort, gas and rutting of trails. An example: The hood from an old car/truck makes for an excellent skid unit! Tight it to the tractor with a chain and there you go for almost free. ;-)
      Cheers

    I don't know...Why mess around with a lawnmower dragging sticks? That Case is a tough machine, but it is proabbly being worked hard doing that. Why not buy a real tractor that weighs 3000-5000lbs?

    • @NorthwoodsNoise
      @NorthwoodsNoise  2 года назад

      Sometimes, if you have the money and the time, it's just fun to mess around. This was back before I had the john deere or the mitsubishi and needed a way to get the logs out. The case also fits better into these tight, heavily brushed areas vs a loader tractor. I wouldnt hesitate to put the 446 up against any 15-25hp modern compact tractor. It's not exactly a 4wd diesel compact, but it's far from a lawnmower. You'd be surprised at what they can handle.

      If it can bury my plow why would I want more?
