    I usually use the small chip pine bark, but got a great deal on the black mulch. Works Great. But think that I will try the Cardboard too.

    What happens with the cardboard after 1 year?

    • @heirloomroses
      @heirloomroses  Год назад

      Good question! Over time the cardboard will decompose.

    Can I put the mint I grow into compost bin with same result? I also compost comfrey.

    • @heirloomroses
      @heirloomroses  2 года назад

      Yes! You could use your own composted mint for the same effect!

    A question about mint compost. You say bugs don't like the smell of it. Does "bugs" include pollinators, like bees? I'm actually trying to increase the presence of pollinators in my garden. Will mint compost thwart that effort?

      The great thing about the kind of mint plant we use for our compost is that it will repel pests such as aphids, sawflies, and ants, however it attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

      @@heirloomroses - I hope I'm not pestering you, but I do have another question about mint compost before I place my order. It's fall - so I expect my roses (and other plants) to go dormant within a month or so. Is this the time to apply mint compost, or should I wait for spring. I already have 3-5" of cedar mulch - so I'm not sure if compost will stimulate growth when the roses should be this close to dormancy. Thanks in advance! (I'm new to all of this).

    Hi Heirloom rose! There are so many kind of mulch in the market. Do you prefer barking wood chips mulch? Or rich dark organic mulch? Thank you so much.

      Hello! We recommend using dark organic mulch. We have several organic soil amendments that will help your rose take off. Here is a link to our different amendments. www.heirloomroses.com/merchandise/heirlooms-own-products.html I hope this helps!
