The S&M show was probably their masterpiece ever done, since they had to play perfect with a symphony Orchestra, where you can't mess up with the speed.
@@kristianbarrenechea That is so cool to hear now. People mocked Metallica for doing S&M and thought it was the one other reason to criticize the direction of the band at the time. But the songs with the symphony are so good. Battery was amazing with an orchestra.
Lars can fucking rip it. But after 2000 he kinda like..didin't really want to play anymore or got tired of playing the same stuff and then decided to change his drum parts a little.
Lars ulrich aslinda dunyanin en iyi bateristlerinden yalnizca birisi. Adamin 90lardan sonra bozulmasi bahane ediliyor ama onun kadar etkileyici, yedirici isler yapmis thrash bateristi cok az. Astiniz zehitlediniz larsi yedirmeyiz
I've read many comments on this video over the years that it has been on here. The first thing, no he is not listening to a click track (metronome). He is 'eared up' for either the bass, vocals or guitar or combination or any. I'm a drummer and when I 'ear up' I either put my 'ears' on the bass or lead singer. Lead singer is great because if they hang on a note a little bit longer you can beat along. Another thing is seeing the comments about whether folks like him or not. I love Lars. Is he the best drummer? He is great but not the best. And I'll take you back in time with this. My faves were Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich in times gone by. These days it would be Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, Joey Jordison (although he does not play anymore), Phil Collins. Yes, I'm a Rush fan but I can drum to any genre. It's all on what you like. Neil, Mike and Joey, along with Jeremy Spencer who played with Five Finger Death Punch are very technical. They flow. This is a drumming video. This is not a hard song to play. Lars, from from the best but is a great drummer.
And Justice for All is a Drum Lesson itself...I’d say Lars is a Genius for being self taught...and he sounds even better at a younger age which is crazy...
I remember seeing it when I was 4 years old, now I'm 22, drumming since 18 y.o and still loving Lars, you can disagree with me but he inspired so many drummers in World Class level now that no one propably never done (And i'm talking bout metal drummers) Respect to this legend 🤘
I know and listen to drummers like Kolias or even Jon Theodore or Thomas Pridgen, still could watch Lars smash the drums playing 4/4 all day. In my opinion if you can't appreciate simple grooves, there's something really fucking wrong with your approach to music.
@@jackrojas926 It was too much to have the orchestra person doing cymbals also. Didn’t go at all with the accents and if you close your eyes it clashes with his drum part

Did he really keep checking himself out in the monitor? Oy. Sorry, but I'll stick with Phil Collins as #1 Drummer. (*let the screaming & threats begin* )
@Shallex I was assuming those times he looked over his shoulder at something that the something was a monitor. Apparently I was wrong, & am a buttwipe. Ah well.
I love that little dance in the beginning!
The master, showing us all how it's done. Go, Lars!!!
@Shallex he's a master of puppets
Richard Shortridge My dads stronger than your dad :)

This Whole concert was a masterpiece

Lars is an excellent drummer no doubt. He gets it!

Best drummer right there
And yes, I’m from Denmark
Lars er kongen
Wish I could have been at one of these first series of S&M concerts. I did manage to catch the 2nd S&M a few years ago in SF. Awesome experience!
Lars can fucking rip it. But after 2000 he kinda like..didin't really want to play anymore or got tired of playing the same stuff and then decided to change his drum parts a little.
multiestonian i understand him
One thing i miss most today is thay 4part double kick drum thing he used to do in For Whom The Bell Tolls..

And how about Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden ?? He is a waaaay better than many drummers .
jimmy chamberlin from smashing pumpkins is a monster drummer
Well done lars your a awesome drummer
Lars said himself he has click track in his ear, although I am not sure when he started to have it

Respect to this legend 🤘
Lars is the best he's the GODGILLA of the metal drumming !!
+Thelionfan11 you have no idea what drumming is. Just two examples: krimh. george kollias.
I'd say Kollias' jazz project, not his work with Nile. Let's go with Ken Bedene for speed!
krimh ? george kollias ? just for underrated drummer dude
go check for aaron kitcher and david diepold

seeing a ride on a lars kit is crazy
I looove how the incorporated that part from No Remorse I think it is in the outro at 6:40. And lars’ pose 😁
I use to listen to S&M everyday when it first came out. I don't know why but it's hard to listen to now a days.
This time Lars the Best live.poland fan

This re-released in 3D would be fucken awesome.
How could they release it in 3D? I wasn't shot in 3d
You can convert films shot in 2D to 3D.

Holy fuck how did he play that?! Everyone knows Enter Sandman is the most technically challenging metal track in history:o
...Wah solo xD
Dead crowd
Did he really keep checking himself out in the monitor?
Oy.
Sorry, but I'll stick with Phil Collins as #1 Drummer.
(*let the screaming & threats begin* )
John Bonham, Neil Pearl and Don Henley are all better drummers than Phil Collins.
He was watching the orchestra behind him and the conductor
Buttwipe
There’s not even a monitor behind him
@Shallex I was assuming those times he looked over his shoulder at something that the something was a monitor. Apparently I was wrong, & am a buttwipe. Ah well.
Metallica with orchestra is just wrong
Lemme guess: Cliff wouldn't have wanted that.
Worst Drummer ever.
bad b8 becuz i saw you on the other video. gg m8
HE is in one of the greatest bands ever. Controlling Sh*t. U?
Like you're worst trash fam
@DiamondOfficial So, yr solution: Keep Lars as writher/author of songs, replace him on Tours?
That sounds dumb af, they picked him for a reason just Kuz the drums aren’t particularly hard doesn’t mean he isn’t skilled
